We usually are big big fans of Texas Roadhouse and came out to Mesa to see friends so we recommended we go to the one by their house. We came after the dinner rush and were told it would be about 15-20 minutes for our party of two families. We waited, and waited, and waited and after about 45 minutes we asked the hostess and she said they were waiting for the "only place to seat us". After another 10 minutes they sat half our party and another 10 minutes after that we all were finally seated. Since we had waited so long we already knew what we wanted to order and put in the order right away. After 20 minutes the food came out and our California Chicken had molded out avocado on it and when we brought it to the waitresses attention she said "what would you like me to do about it?" and offered to scrape it off and bring us fresh avocado. The avocado didn't come in time to accompany the rest of the meal. They were out of several things our party tried to order as well (which is tough to tell kids who have been waiting). This is a really good place to stop at if your hungry. I went to the bar and sat in there as there was a big line waiting for seating. I sat down and was met by the bartender Ashley. She took my order and got my drink right away. The food followed fairly quick considering the place was very busy. My food came out hot and cooked to my liking. Ashley was a great server. She made sure I had what I needed for dinner. The food was great and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal. I am not sure but if they take reservations I would make them as it was packed. read more

I take my family and I to Texas Roadhouse regularly every week. This is by far the worst service we have ever had. He was more attentive to his other tables. Only brought refills for every one at my table except me. The hostess at the front would not get me a manger. All kept saying is .."I'm sorry about that." I don't want an apology. Spent $30 on porterhouse that was burnt crispy on the bottom part of the "T". So chewy you could have flossed your teeth with the sinew. Left off bacon, I paid for. Left off blue cheese crumbles, we paid for. Left out all the fixings for our sweet potato. Left the dipping sauce off the blossom. Called the manager and was promised an email. Nothing. Called again and spoke to another manager and promised the same thing. Nothing. This is the worst restaurant service and managers ever. Terrible to pay $88.41 for 3 meals and be done so dirty. Got a pick up order Sunday 9/27 around 1pm. Jared Jackson was one of most kindest people! There was a situation that had accrued with other customers and he had kept his cool through the whole thing. Got sat at a table. For 20 minutes no one came to ask for our drinks or orders. The people who got sat after us had already gotten their drinks and appetizers after 5 minutes. I don't know if it's a discrimination thing or they sat us in the wrong section, but out of all those servers walking by, someone should have noticed. One server asked a man behind us if he wanted more bread and just looked at us and walked away. If this isn't discrimination, I don't know what is. Terrible service. Absolutely terrible experience. I will never be back to this location ever again. I ordered a hurricane with my meal off the menu. I was offered a shot of tequila to go with it. I refused, stating I didn't want any tequila in my hurricane, they should have rum. He returns as he should to inform me that their hurricane has margarita mix & tequila in it. I told him that was fine and it was brought to the table shortly after. It tasted like straight juice, but rather than complain, I ordered a shot of rum. I was told that the drink I ordered had too much alcohol in it and I couldn't oder another drink. Of course that was silly since he just offered me a shot of tequila. He was insistent that we could not get any more booze even though my wife who I was sharing with had no drinks served to her and he wouldn't serve her the rum either. He was very flustered and would only offer to take the drink away. At that point I was upset and told him "fine , take the drink off my table and my check". This basically seemed like the only available option so I took it. He then stated that he would no longer be my server. At this point a manager should have been sent over but they were not. I asked for one and Alyssia came over to our table. I didn't even get my 1st word out before she started defending her employee and their actions. I was very calm but her attitude was 100% that we were wrong for what had just occurred. She also lied about their corporate policies and had insufficient/incorrect knowledge regarding AZ liquor laws. Later on Alyssia could be seen speaking badly about us to the other members of the staff, this was for the rest of our stay. I assume they held off on our order since it took much longer than we were used to and everyone else who sat immediately after us nearby, got their entress well before us. Before all of this craziness, our server and a busser were clearing our table just moments after we arrived. We had all gone to wash up and with little kids, nothing is fast in the bathroom but we were not gone for very long at all. When we returned they had already dumped our drinks. All of this was fine but am now mentioning it. I mean, I was even ok being served juice when I paid for booze. All I wanted was a shot of rum, not tequila and that just blew everyone's minds. Another manager and server did come over to help. His reaction was proper even though, I felt like they should have put more effort into keeping us as customers. Not really mad though because I would have refused anyways. I paid our bill & tipped our server. Even though he didn't do much but I know they have to tip the bartender, food runner, & host based off their sales so I didn't want to cost him $$$ just because his company sucks. I worked for 7 years as a server/bartender and none of my managers ever would have handled this the way this was handled. Alyssia especially made us feel very unwelcome. A manager in training, unaware of our situation asked us how our meal went. I read him a rough draft of this review and he got more than he bargained for lol but didn't seem interested in confirming everything had been taken care of. Just seemed like he was sorry he asked. We used to love coming here but after today we will never be back. Sure this place is busy and probably doesn't need our business but they just need to look across their parking lot to see all the big time restaurants that have failed in this shopping center. Their wait to be seated system sucks their is no reservations it's based on first come bases that's fine but they won't seat you unless everyone in the party group is there we got dropped because we were missing one family member so it would be another hour wait !! My son is moving out of state they don't have a Texas Roadhouse where he's going so we ended up going to Mellow Mushroom because an hour wait was to long Thank you Texas Roadhouse for ruining our evening !!!! We got seated and we had no server for 20 minutes but after going up to one of the servers and asking if they knew who our server was they were so kind and were always checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I ordered a Country Fried Sirloin w/mashed potatoes and salad. It was accompanied with rolls and root beer. I left eating only the rolls, root beer and salad. The Country Fried Sirloin was drowning in so much gravy it was at the edges of the plate. When I pushed some off to cut a pool of grease appeared from the breading. It was overdone and was being hidden. The mashed potatoes were in a lot of gravy, too. When I sent back the waitress offered to get the manager, but implied the manager would be unable to do anything. I'm assuming this is the normal way it is served so I'll go to Country Buffet for their Country Fried Chicken instead. I am hoping it wasn't because I was using the Veteran Coupon and the manager thinks we are undeserving of better quality of food. I left having rolls, side salad, and root beer for dinner. I am updating my rating for this restaurant. My change is to add a star to the rating and make a compliment about the service. In general, the staff at this location is stellar. Always fast at refilling drinks, correcting mistakes, bringing bread and cleaning away dishes, the staff has a good and consistent approach. Additionally, the steak is pretty much always prepared to order correctly. The last several times my precious complaints about sides being dry (broccoli specifically) were not true, as they've been prepared hot but juicy not tasteless and dry. Prices have risen slightly with costs over the years, but pretty much to be expected and in line with the market. Texas Roadhouse still is our weekly steak dinner out location. read more

The service was great I can't deny, but the food was not on its game. I ordered the 8oz Sirloin with ribs, both were dry and very salty. Never had ribs that weren't dripping with bar-b-que sauce before & the sautéed mushrooms looked burnt and shriveled no juices here either. I looked forward to a juicy steak, no juice and I ordered medium. I only ate 2 ribs and maybe a 1/4 of the stake. Potato and salad were good. So sad for this location, very disappointed. We have been going to this roadhouse for many years and have not been dieappointed. Food is always good, sometimes better than others but always good,servers are attentive, drinks are wonderful. However I do have a problem with draft beer selection mainly the lack of an amber beer. Every once in awhile they have a modelo or dos xx amber or other amber but not always. I don't know why I continue to give this location a chance, every time I come here it's something else which I guess is my fault. Management is running this place into the ground, this is the only Texas Roadhouse I've ever been to that is never on a wait. I'm a huge Texas Roadhouse fan and have been since I worked for the company in the early 2000s, for a company that is so keen on customer service this location is definitely missing the mark and it's been a noticeable rapid decline over the past year.. Unfortunately I won't be coming back to this location. Management is non existent on the floor and nowhere to be seen and this is consistent every time we visit, no table touches, no checking on the guests I've never seen or experienced anything like it. Hopefully y'all get it together, this location is giving the brand a horrible reputation. read more

When I ordered my drink (the same way I have been ordering it at Texas Roadhouse for years) I was told it could not be served that way. When I ordered my steak ... it always comes out medium when I ask for medium-rare... so I have been asking for it between rare and medium-rare... not usually a problem... not at this location... they can't go it the way I want.
