This place has been in my neighborhood for decades and is a staple for Mesa (pun intended since they are located on Stapley). The parking lot is always full, so it was good to see this was still a popular restaurant even after not dining here for at least a good 10 years. With a party of four, we were seated pretty quickly around the 5pm dinner rush. Service was really great from Ethan. He was super attentive, and even the first beer brought to the table, he noticed the head disappeared and it wasn't a "full" beer and brought it back to get topped off. I don't think I've ever seen a server go above and beyond, even for a tiny splash from the bartender to top off the beer. Luckily, I had a clear view of the bar where I sat. He won major points for that one. For the meal, I ordered the 14 oz prime rib, which had some decent flavor, and was cooked right to temp and served with au jus. Just lacked my favorite part, which was the crust with fresh herbs and a punch of salt. My sides were nothing special with the green beans and fries. The green beans aren't my favorite as I prefer fresh green beans cooked with s&p and with some texture of crunch. These were cooked all day and a bit soggy for my taste. The old fashion I ordered wasn't bad. It was basically pure alcohol, and unfortunately, it was smaller portioned. When you can see the ice surpass the liquid, it's under made. What a bummer this didn't get topped off. I'm not sure if the bartender was just short pouring all drinks that night. Otherwise, stack the table with their world renowned (hopefully by now) fresh baked rolls and cinnamon butter, and other dishes like chicken fried steak, ribeye cooked to perfection, and barbecue smothered...it was a good experience. Theresa is amazing!!! Spectacular service. She met our needs and made sure we had everything before we left. She's also really funny as well and just kind hearted, you can tell. Texas Roadhouse is a place that we enjoy going but hardly ever were able to due to the way they use to have peanuts everywhere. Our youngest is allergic to peanuts so it was always really hard to go here as a family due to his allergy, but last week on my birthday we decided to go in and ask if they were still serving out peanuts how they use to! Come up our surprise they have the peanuts bagged and they are no longer everywhere when you enter the restaurant! Our son was very nervous to go in to the restaurant and to try the food but the hostess, and manager were so kind and helpful when we explained our sons allergy, they cleaned the table and menus extra good host in case someone who has eaten a sealed bag of peanuts touched it. And when our son would ask if there were any nut products used, the waitress would go check just to reassure him it was safe to eat!!! Everyone loves their delicious bread rolls with that mouthwatering cinnamon butter!!! So good!!! All of the food we ordered was amazing and the experience was great for all of us!! So, my family LOVES Texas Roadhouse, and I mean, just in birthdays, today will be my third visit in three days and I'm not even mad about it! The food quality is ridiculously good for the price and the options are plentiful!! I'll start with my phone call Wednesday, I wish I knew the name of the server who answered around 4pm to help me with my questions and requests about booking a party of 12 for a Friday. I know the rules, they don't do that here, BUT he told me to call back Friday at 11am when they opened. I did just that and in the short 5 minute conversation I had with Jayla, she made me laugh! She was helpful and super kind. Her energy even through the phone made me wish I met her. She transferred me to the manager, Jess who was so willing to help me out and did everything for me! I didn't even have to use my app. She was specific about timing and seating and all I had to do was follow her command. As our party was arriving I got a call from Sean while I was in the parking lot, checking on us and our status. The following 15 minutes he continued to keep me updated and notified until we were sat. Jade was our server and she was a sweetheart. She was quick with meeting our needs and checked on us several times even if we were chatting along she made sure to take table scans and brings refills of drinks and bread without our ask. Fantastic experience tonight at Texas Roadhouse. My Mom and I love coming here and getting the filets and mushrooms. Tonight stood out because of the amazing service from Torrey. He was quick to welcome us, brought out a refill before we had to ask, and made sure to take extra care with some changes we made on our order. He was attentive and had such a great personality. We usually love this place however,we ordered the medallion steaks medium . When they came out they were almost charred. The waitress appeared to be annoyed but she take them back . Thirty minutes later and three managers stopped by kept telling us oh they are almost ready ! Not only didn't they bring them out we stopped receiving refills on our drinks as well . At this point we asked for our bill and told them to take them off . They did offer to send them to go with us . At this point it was too late and very very disappointing. I understand having a policy where all persons must be present to sit at this is to ensure that business keeps moving and tables are not wasted due to persons not showing up. When 95% of the party is ready to sit and being denied because 1 is less than 10 minutes away is ridiculous!! It would take longer than 10 minutes to get drinks and appetizers ordered. Also to say because our table for 7 to be increased to 8 (which was ready) we now have to wait additional 45 minutes is crazy!! Texas Roadhouse has always been good but tonight it wasn't it. The bread, chili, and drinks were definitely flowing. However the half rack of ribs were cold to the touch and it seemed the server don't really care to help me since they were an hour away from closing. It really did seem like they came out the fridge and they dropped it in the microwave I kid you not. When I told the server he said he'd bring me a new one with another loaded potato cause I was halfway through it, to which I said no. I had already ate the whole chili bowl so I was already full and didn't really wanna wait even more. I would have been down to pay for the sides since I did eat that and it wouldn't be fair . Server didn't seem to understand so he said he'd bring me a new plate. Which at that point didn't really care cause my table was already cashing out and leaving. Anyhow I waited and they brought me back the same plate of two half- half ribs? and no potato which was really upsetting cause the potato I sure was looking forward too. Why would you give me the same plate and not even my side to which you promised? Eh mid service too when I told him if they brought me the same plate he said no and I replied if I could just pay for the sides and this off my tab to which he also said no. He said there's nothing he could do about it because my friends had already already paid for. That was really the icing on top. My family and I came into the Stapley Drive Texas Roadhouse this week and had a great experience, all thanks to our server Anna!!! She was friendly, efficient, and helpful to all our requests and accommodations. The restaurant was busy, but everything ran smoothly. Food came out hot and delicious and we never had to flag down our server. We never had to ask for more rolls , and trust me our kids can take those down. Anna was excellent. She was really on top of everything. She checked in at the right times and made sure our family had everything we needed. I have had some lesser experiences at other Texas Roadhouse chain locations, but this one was great. Next time we come in we will be sure to ask for Anna again. Normally, I've never had a bad experience with this franchise while dining in; however, this time I opted to order my meal for take out. I order the boneless chicken wings (spicy) and the Mushroom Jack Chicken sandwich with steak fries. The chicken wings were barely sauced and didn't even cover all of the chicken pieces and for me, barely even a medium spice. The sandwich was seasoned well and cooked properly; but didn't come with the lettuce, tomato & onions as it was described and pictured. Then the nice, young lady managing the pick up window took the time to show me the food and explain that my condiments (blue cheese dressing & cinnamon butter spread) were in a separate bag along with a dinner roll. Well, when I got home no roll(s), as well. I will be upfront that my appetizer was free with my birthday coupon. An hour and 15 minutes later, I asked another gal up front how much longer. She told me 5 minutes and I told her we would be waiting in the bar. Another 20 minutes later I asked the same gal how much longer since we have been waiting for 1 hour 45 minutes. She said "I thought you were eating at the bar". I lost it! They had my name and cell number and they NEVER even called or texted me. I willl NEVER go back to this place. What happened was totally UNACCEPTABLE!! I have been to a few Texas Roadhouses in the US. They seem to be all the same. This location is the best I have been to and thankfully is close by. The thing I like about it is the staff. Even in this time in our world they have plenty of hard working employees. Not only are they hardworking they are friendly. Now that I think about it the employees all act like they are from Texas and a big reason why I will eventually move to Texas. The people in Texas are awesome! You walk in and three employees have a big smile welcoming you. That is the kind of service that excites people to want to come back even if the food is average. I get free peanuts while I wait for a table. Walking through to your table more employees welcome you. You sit down to delicious hot and fresh buns with cinnamon butter. Yum! Is it your birthday? Everyone in the place will know. Service is again very friendly and fast every single visit. One visit my kids dropped his toy. A Roadhouse employee stopped on a dime to not only picked it up but also played with him for a solid minute. Keep in mind this is during a rush. Is the food amazing? Pretty busy but able just to walk right in and get seated. Had the chicken fried steak and a load of sweet potatoes. Everything was amazing. Very fun atmosphere. Don't get the $5 LIT. Me & a friend went during Valentine's Day (busy time) & although the wait time was long just to get seated, the service we received from our waitress Jasmine was fantastic! Very polite, calm, & just doing her thing being great with all the busyness surrounding her. Service from the kitchen was spot on quick, the food was hot, and our drinks were cold & delicious! Very warm and friendly hostess however it took forever at least 15 minutes to be acknowledged by a server. Melissa kindly took over from our missing in action person and was able to smooth it out from there ! The food is excellent ! I had the 12 ounce New York strip perfectly cooked medium rare and a double Caesar salad for my sides. The interior of the restaurant is very homey and cozy and the seating is very comfortable. This review would have received a much higher rating if it hadn't been such a slow acknowledgment by server once seated.. I would definitely go back based on the quality of the food.! read more
