I enjoyed their appetizer bread a lot like A LOT. The bread tastes good by itself and even taste better with the spread that they have. I got the blooming onion and grilled pork chops. Getting the blooming onion took a while so we were munching on the bread so much that when it came to the main dish we were already full after a few bites. I didn't like that the girl kept asking if we want sautéed mushroom and onions as if it's optional and FREE. It was definitely optional but it wasn't free. Came here on a thursday night around 9:30 for dinner. Place was crowded but not packed. We were first sat at a table for 2 that only had 1 chair so i asked for a booth and sat by the bar. We got 2 orders of bread which were amazing. They were hot and sweet. I ordered the 5oz salmon with mash and a Cesar salad, my partner got a half rack of ribs with corn and mash. The salmon portion was really small. The mash was really lumpy and dry like the scraped it from an old baked potato, and the salad was dry as well. My food was edible after adding a ton of salt and pepper. My partner did not enjoy his ribs as he had to send them back due to it being dry and old tasting. The manager compt his meal and gave us w coupon for another free meal. I guess thats what we get for coming to a bbq place 30 min before closing. Aroogas next door is going to run them out of business pretty soom since next door was packed thats the only reason why many people were in that restaurant. I will not return. I was in the mood for ribs and never tried them from here. So I called and ordered a whole rack jumped on my motorcycle and headed over. I got there right on time as far as the time they were supposed to be ready for pick-up, and waited another 15 mins for them to be brought out to me. Mind you that since I was on the bike I pulled up right to the curb and they have a big picture window where I could see my food sitting on the table ready to go. (not to happy about that) . Anyway I get the ribs and head back home , the ribs were bland and mushy, no flavor at all except the sweet sauce they put on them. I ate a few ribs, and just filled up on the salad and baked potato, they were the only part of the meal that was ok. A nice find in of a Texan steakhouse in NJ. Although I've never experienced a steakhouse in Texas, I could imagine this place comes close. The waiting area is large enough to accommodate a lot if people. While you're waiting for your table, the restaurant has complimentary whole roasted peanuts provided in a wooden barrel that anyone can grab. You drop the peanut shells on the floor. Definitely not good for anyone who has a peanut allergy; bring the epipen. But fun to throw the shells on the floor like you're letting loose, not having to worry about cleaning up. Now onto the food... Steaks were cooked to perfection as ordered. I usually order medium rare and that is how it was served. The sides were good too. The table has empty buckets if you would like to continue the peanut snacking to the table to throw the empty shells in. You can watch several TVs as you dine. Sports games are typically played on the tvs. If you celebrate a bday, the servers bring out a stationary bull riding contraption that the birthday celebrant can sit on to take pics wvhile in front of all the customers. We ordered on line and it was so easy to make our choices. The burgers were large and flavorful!! Our only complaint was that it says to "follow the signs and "Go To" parking and stay in your car". We followed the instructions and texted when we arrived. We were parked in the "Go to " parking spot # 1. No one came to the car with our food. When we tried to call them we only got the automated service to place an order. So we waited. It winds up that you have to go up the window and get your food. So what are the numbered spots for? We tried going in on the weekend, but the waiting time was a lot longer than we thought. For this, we decided to go in on a weeknight. We did call ahead, but they said there was no waiting time at all (5:30pm). When we came in, we were immediately seated. Moments later, our friendly server arrived to take our drink orders. We all ordered water. Additionally, I ordered a Red Sangria. Their sangria was a blend of red wine, various fruit juices, triple sec (orange flavored liquor), and brandy, served on the rocks and garnished with two cherries and an orange slice. The taste was flavorful, and the alcohol level was perfect. After our server gave us our water and drinks, he took our food orders, grabbed my free birthday appetizer coupon, and ran off. However, he did come back for a brief moment to deliver sweet rolls with cinnamon honey butter. As we waited for our appetizer and entrees, we feasted on the sweet rolls and peanuts. The sweet rolls tasted hot with a good flavor. The cinnamon honey butter only made the roll taste even better. The butter itself was sweet with a little bit of spice, which was a fine blend. We even asked for another serving of rolls and butter. We then ate some peanuts from the bucket. They were roasted and lightly salted, which was perfect. Later, our tater skins arrived. These hot potato skins were topped off with gooey cheddar cheese, and sprinkled with tasty bits of bacon. A cup of sour cream was placed in the center, but we didn't care about that. These tasted fresh and delicious. After that, two servers came by to deliver our entrees. All of our entrees involved steak, and we asked them to be cooked MEDIUM-WELL. I ordered a 6 oz Dallas Filet, which is a more tender and leaner meat. The size was perfect, and it was perfectly cooked to my preference. I added their own steak sauce for flavor, which resulted in a very tasty filet. The sauce itself was a good, but a little sweeter than what I'm usually accustomed to. My entree came with a choice of two sides. I chose the steak fries and green beans. The steak fries were perfectly well seasoned. I had a taste, but then took the rest home. I ate the green beans, and it was packed with flavor, probably due to the bacon bits that were mixed in. My mom ordered the steak kabob. This consisted of marinated steak medallions, cooked with pieces of onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, red and green peppers. All of this was served on top of a mound of seasoned rice. She had a choice of one side, in which she chose green beans. She said that the rice was nothing special. But everything else was quite flavorful. However, she pointed out two pieces of meat were tougher, and those pieces had a darker pink/red color, which she didn't like. Hmm, those pieces looked medium to me, which was not our preference... o_O My dad ordered a Texas Size Combo. For this, he ordered a 6 oz Sirloin Steak with some Ribs. For his two choices of sides, he chose seasoned rice and green beans. As with my mom, he thought that the rice was nothing special. As with the 6 oz Sirloin Steak, he said it was cooked well and packed with flavor. He took the ribs home because we were filled up from our entrees and appetizer, but it looked good. The restaurant appearance was very rustic, with wooden walls that contained attached animal heads, bear logos, and more. If this was their way of trying to resemble the country part of Texas, then they did a fine job of doing so. In the bar area, numerous TVs were scattered about and broadcast-ed sports. Each table contained a pail with fresh, roasted, lightly salted peanuts and another pail to dispose the shells, food and drink menus, and condiments, including salt, pepper, and steaks sauce. Country music played at a rather low volume. The servers apparently danced at random moments. But because of the low volume, you couldn't really tell if the servers were dancing or not, even if they clap their hands at a rather inconsistent rate. As they danced, I noticed that no one paid attention to them, but were simply enjoying their meals. Are these servers livelier on the weekends? I guess it would help if they made the music louder ONLY if they're dancing, just to get the lively mood going. If they want to engage the patrons and invite them to dance with them, that could help too. Just hope no one films you doing so in case you mess up. :P At the time I went, the restrooms appeared to be clean. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout our experience. A new restaurant opened in my area called Texas Road House ... This is a chain but regardless this place knows how to have fun. The minute you walk in you are greeted by friendly hostesses who ask how many in ur party. If you have any special requests like the type of seating , birthday, anniversary etc.Then you are given a beeper. There is a side room to wait until your called... In the room sits a large barrel filled with fresh peanuts and bags which are supplied free of charge. You just help yourself ...The floor is coated with peanut shells. Kids really seem to like this. There is a large flat screened tv to keep you occupied , or you can have a drink at their bar...or sit and wait outside until your called.. This restaurant gets really packed at least 40 minutes to an hour wait. My suggestion is call ahead and put your name on their list. Once seated I was greeted by our friendly waitress. She asked if we were ever at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant . I told her no, and she explained all the bread is baked on the premises and you can pick out your steak for the same price as on the menu... Their menu has something to offer for everyone. If you don't eat steak, there is chicken, fish or an assortment of salads... If steak is your thing you've come to the right place. Many types of steaks and many choices of cuts. The prices are very good. In the front behind glass you can view all the different cuts of fresh meat. I started with a frozen peach margarita. It was huge. I liked the fact I could have the rim dipped in salt or sugar, frozen or not frozen. There are many different types of margaritas. There's even is a sangria margarita, along with many other types of speciality drinks that are served in very large glasses. The rolls are hot and fresh and baked on the premises ,served with a cinnamon type butter. They butter just melted on the rolls. I ordered a 12 ounce strip steak. I had it cooked medium rare. I had a choice of two sides and there was a list to choose from. I chose a salad and a loaded baked potato.My strip steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well.I was pleasantly surprised how juicy it turned out. My salad was a nice size it had fresh greens, cheddar cheese,chopped tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, and homemade croutons which gave it wonderful texture. I like that the calorie content is listed next to each steak and item. My loaded baked potato came with butter, sour cream cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. Every bite was explosion in my mouth... My friend ordered the 12 oz prime rib with auju . When asked horseradish was happily given...., It also came with a choice of two sides. What I was impressed about most is our waitress kept checking on us and this place was packed . She also was very honest and told us if we order the prime rib there was no more rare just med cooked which is perfect for my friend. I really appreciated this because most restaurants wouldn't even tell you until you already placed your order and you would have to return it. I only eat rare prime rib. The portions are a nice size, so depending if you order an appetizer, or not will help you choose the right size steak... They have cowboy cuts and Dallas fillets...They also serve ribs, chicken and fish .. If it's your birthday be forewarned you will be made the center of attention. The entire staff comes over and brings a large saddle up on a platform for the birthday person to sit on... I just came back from Texas Roadhouse and it was an amazing experience. We shared one appetizer which was called the blossom, which was essentially the Roadhouse's version of the blooming onion from outback steakhouse, it was still really good. Now for the main course, I had the new York strip and sweet potato with marshmallow and rice on the side. It was really good and not to hard, just the way I like it. My parents shared a slab of ribs and bbq chicken which they say was really tender. We didn't have time for dessert as we were too full. But,surely next time when we come back I will tell you how the dessert is. The staff were very friendly and courteous as we asked them if we could take their soft and delicious bread home. They gave us at least 12 pieces of bread. I'll highly recommend this restaurant and you won't be disappointed. read more

I'll start by saying the food was good and the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. I had the fried cat fish (I only order this AFTER I asked the waitress if they had hot sauce, WHICH THEY DID NOT! She gave me pepper sauce which is NOT the same. The drinks are nothing but juice, but they look very nice I had a frozen sangria margarita. Now for the BAD!!!! The wait is ridiculous! We called ahead to be added to the list but even when we sat down and ordered the food took forever!!! Now if you've seen any of my previous reviews you know I'm not picky and I don't like to complain over little things but it was an excessive wait time for food. Might try it coming again because the most important part (the food) is really good and it's a cute setup. Good day Yelpees! First Texas Roadhouse experience in New Jersey. My wife and I have been to several Texas Roadhouse establishments across America. How did it go? I cannot wait to tell you! First, as my wife and I walked into the restaurant there were about 5 ladies waiting to swarm around and greet us which was overwhelming but pleasant to see employees presenting positive motivation to customers from the start. Second, the waitress was extremely friendly and respectful when approaching our table for service. We ordered chicken tenders, a cup of chili, 8 oz. sirloin with shrimp and a baked potato. Both entrees came with a salad also. In addition, we ordered the cactus blossom, unsweetened ice tea, and a Diet Coke. As we transition into dinner time, there seemed to be much confusion between our table and the one next to ours. I believe twice the food for our table was attempted to be given to the adjacent table, but the server was able to undo and correctly resolve the issue. Now the tea.. came out sweetened which is cool except for the part my wife is a type 1 diabetic and the grams of added sugar was fantastic. Luckily we only got one glass because leaving them empty at the end of the table wasn't a good enough queue to let anyone know a refill would be nice. The food... My salad tasted like what I would imagine some terrible pandemic covered lettuce would taste like... wife enjoyed hers so I think I may have just been having a touchy evening with the taste buds... cactus blossom was not good so we both just let that sit there lonely and mostly uneaten.. shrimp was on point, sirloin was a bit chewy, not a fan of their signature steak sauce, chicken tenders came with no sauce, and chili didn't come with a spoon. Some of the staff (including our waitress) were wearing shirts that said "I love our troops" so I thought I'd ask if they supported military discount.. the response was hmm maybe, I think it's only on Thursday's. She asked and came back and was able to discount my meal but not my wife's. Better than nothing I guess. So all in all, staff were nice, so great job there, the rest is as said. Aside from the woman (greeter) at the front door who had an attitude when someone from my party provided her with info she needed this place still did not meet my high expectations. Not sure why its so crowded on many nights I ride by but we had 6 people in our party and all of the meals were cold and the taste subpar. We are so happy that there are TR now in New Jersey. This is our first NJ experience with TR, and it was a great one. Our server Josh was very honest with us from the beginning that he is new, and asked for our patience. He was excellent. Along the way his trainer and manager both stopped by to check on us, which I truly appreciate. The food is great as usual. I highly recommend the call ahead tool. We arrived at 5:15, and even if we didn't call ahead, the place is not full. By the time we left at 6:45, the waiting room was so filled that people were sitting outside to wait also. This has been a spot for my friends and I, since they opened up and I've been loving it but lately the quality of their food has dropped. I got a take out yesterday and was so disappointed, they gave me fries that had these in them (check picture, there's more I threw them out) in them, I thought about not writing this, because to be honest this has been one of my favorite places to go and wouldn't have, if my mother hadn't gone this week too and mentioned the drop in their quality. Last week the bread was covered in so much grease it was soggy and this week I think they gave me a day old bread because not only did it smell stale it also was hard, which is not impossible I went there by 5pm (an hour after opening), one hour after they opened. Please I hope someone reads this and does something about this, I want to keep eating here please. First time visitor today. Family decided to try it. Nice atmosphere. Not too loud. Country Music playing in the air. Typical wooden furniture. Decor is of a pub. The waiter and waitresses do a little dance at a given time. Cute. The hot bread and sweet butter they give you will have you not hungry for your mean. The smothered chicken was cooked very well. Chicken was juicy and the gravy had a nice taste to it. The string beans had some good bacon in it. The smoke house burger. Was a bit messy. Bread was soft and every thing falling out of it. Last night was my first encounter with Texas Roadhouse. It was a fun experience. We got there kind of late, a little after 9 pm on a Friday evening. It wasn't that busy, but I don't think anything was in the area. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and quickly taken to our seat. We ordered two hurricanes on the rocks. We had a blooming onion, ribeye steak smothered with mushrooms and onions, and a loaded baked potato and a strip with a sweet potato. Both of us had a Cesar salad. I'd definitely recommend the Cesar salads. The steaks were good - I asked for medium rare, but mine came out more medium well. We also ordered two margaritas on the rocks. I definitely recommend adding the additional shooters to any of their drinks to feel any type of buzz. The rolls that were served as we were seated were pretty good as well. read more

This is a difficult one to rate so I will try to break it down. We had a reservation for 14 plus 2 high chairs. We had to wait 30 minutes to ber seated and the tables were not set up. While therre was plenty of room to put us along the wall in one large group, we were split into 4 seprate tables, with no high chairs. None of the employees seemed to know what they were doing. Our 2 servers were excellent and tried to straighten everything out. The drinks were delicious! I highly recommend the Sangria and Margaritas! For a steakhouse, the steaks were very disappointing! 4 people sent theirs back. 3 were over-cooked, one under-cooked. Mine was a little over-cooked, but not enough to send it back, but enough that it was less enjoyable. I had mine smothered in mushrooms that were too salty to eat. The sweet potato was delicious. I had previously been to another Texas Roadhouse in Florida that I would have rated 5 stars. This is the worst restaurant I've been to in the area. The food was absolutely terrible. The appetizer was... just wow it was sad, though the potato skins were edible. My burger was on a dry, stale and unappetizing bun with the toppings under the burger. My girlfriend only had one bite of the chicken fried steak she ordered. Her corn came out in a pool of water that I had to pour out on to a plate and her loaded baked potato was barely baked. Don't go here. Oh also, the menu is sad. When we walked in, it seemed like they didnt even want to give us a table. They were pushing us to sit at the bar. This was our first time at this restaurant, so why not get the full texas roadhouse experience? If i wanted to sit at a bar, I would've went to a bar closer to my house. Im not driving over 30 minutes for a bar experience, sorry! They brought us to a table, steps from the bar and sat us down with their bread. How do you put bread down, and not ask what would we like to drink shortly after!? It took about 15 minutes before we had to flag down a waitor to ask for some water. As we were looking at their menu, my boyfriend flagged down a waitor asking, how can you sit us at a table and not bring us napkins and utensils??? He apologized and sad he'll be back. At this point we were already not so pleased with the service, it was around 9pm, they close at 10:30 so it was clear that some people in the staff were getting lazy, and were ready to go home. This shouldnt be obvious to customer! After another 15 min, and literally watching the staff laughing and talking, he finally brought my water. By then the bread had already lodged in my throat begging for water. I immediately lost interest in the bread! We decided to just put in our orders because, we werent sure when he would be back or shall i say if he would be back! The appetizer came and the server's exact words were "here". Yup, great hospitality! She placed a tray of half burnt potatoe skins down for our enjoyment. We were so hungry at this point, we would've nibbled at the table. They brought us our dinner, a few minutes before closing and we were pleased. My veggies were over cooked, veggies should be lightly boiled or steamed but maintaining its bright color,not soaked with water and mushy. There goes the nutrients! My steak was delicious, cooked perfectly! My boyfriend enjoyed his ribs, they were fall off the bone good. Now here's what they missed! Most tables had a bucket of peanuts, why were we not offered peanuts??? Are they complimentary?? Do you pay??? We still wonder...... The drinks menu, why is there no price on the menu??? Why are add on the only thing with pricing. The whole drink is how much? Why am I getting a ballpark figure from the waitor, nice try! Conclusion: Im not sure I'll be back, their customer service sucked. They shouldnt assume that every customer who walks through the door, have eaten there before. Your job is to make the diner feel welcomed and give the full experience!! If i do come back it will be a lot earlier, not sure if Im willing to drive out my way again especially not at night! read more
