I go to this location all the time and have to say this was the first time I had a bad experience here. Place was packed and didn't have to wait too long before getting seated, that was the best part of this dinner. Our table was all the way in the far back corner in a separate room from main restaurant. There was a speaker directly above our table, which was blasting music so loud we could not even talk to each other. Even that wasn't the worst of it. What really disappointed us was the quality of the food. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and salad. The salad was brought out and was so watery that it was not edible. Maybe they forgot to drain the lettuce all the way? Then when I finally got my steak it was so thin and overcooked that it wasn't edible. I ordered it medium rare but as you can see in the picture, it is not medium rare and it is so thin that it was just dry and salty. My first time visiting this restaurant but went with a friend who comes here frequently. I won a gift card at a charity event so this was on my list to try. We arrived close to 4pm and there was a short wait which surprised me on a Wednesday afternoon. Then I saw they offered Early Dine menu and I thought that must be why there was a wait. We were dining "early" but it was more of a late lunch after visiting the Carlsbad Flower Fields and running a couple of errands. As diners were being seated the servers would grab a basket of bread which is great when you are hangry! I guess you can also view their selection of meats and choose one. Our server was very nice and asked if it was our first time and if we viewed the steaks. Also at our table was a bag of sealed peanuts - yum! We ordered the #CactusBloom as a started and enjoyed it. Too much for two but hoping it will heat up well in an air fryer for later (and it does!). I took advantage of the #EarlyDine menu and ordered the #6ozSirloinSteak. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. I also ordered a side of #GrilledShrimp. These were okay - a bit skimpy and not grilled enough for me. My sides were their #GreenBeans (a tad too salty) and #BakedPotatoLoaded which was a winner. My friend ordered the #SteakhouseFiletSalad which looked huge and must be good because she ate every bite. Parking was also insane - had to walk a good amount to get there. It was worth it, though! Fast and super friendly service! They even do some choreographed staff dance every hour or so. Super loud and lively casual atmosphere. Free rolls and sweet butter when you're seated. That's one of the things I think they're known for. Went tonight on a Saturday night with my family. We haven't been in a while because of how insanely busy it always is, but we decided to go tonight for the delicious food we knew them to have. Turns out that is no longer the case. The steaks had NO seasoning, the lettuce in our salads tasted wilted and bagged. I always remember the salads being so fresh... my mashed potatoes and gravy were flat out cold when they were brought out, and my husbands $40 steak that he ordered "medium" is pictured below... chewy as a spare tire. The server was also not how I remember their standard for service. I asked him 3 times for ranch. By the time he finally brought it I no longer needed it. He was less than enthusiastic about serving us. We dine out a couple times a week and have a lot to compare this to and can honestly say it was Just over all such a disappointment. One of my son's favorite (semi) local places and where he had to go for his birthday. Although he teases and says it is all about the rolls, his favorite (and always go to) menu item is the chicken fried chicken, loaded mashed potatoes and buttered corn. We also cannot forget the fried pickles to start. And the fresh, hot rolls with cinnamon butter. My husband got the chicken fried sirloin (tasty but a bit tough) smothered in mushrooms, onions, and brown gravy. I got the chicken fritters which were lightly battered and gave me the feeling of fried chicken without having to deal with the bones. The plate sizes are fairly large and we usually always end up bringing food home with us. Our sides came on our plates but my husbands fries came separate and are usually always forgotten. Staff is nice and service is pretty good. Our servers are always nice and food comes out fairly quickly. We went later in the evening and once we checked in we had about a 10 minute wait before we were seated. It was crowded but not as much as we have seen it in the past (usually 30-45 minute wait). Even though he turned 18 and we went on his actual birthday he insisted we not mention it to anyone. When its your birthday they bring out a saddle and the whole restaurant gets in and yells yeeha. Fun but the attention is not much his thing. They were decorated for Christmas and it felt warm and welcoming inside. Veterans Day was not the move here. We work, but apparently we need a voucher to be redeemed during the work day. They also have a sign up, but a veteran a beer for $5. So I asked if I can buy my veteran a beer, they say no, that I can just give them $5. I said so we ordered our veteran a beer, where is everyone else's $5 going? This place is bad if you have people that tend to arrive late since they only seat your party if everyone is there but if everyone is there, you usually don't wait long since the place is pretty big. I've only been two times but I've ordered the same thing each time. I have the ribs and you get to pick two sides to go with. This time I got the chili, which is delicious and the loaded baked potato. For drinks, I had a $5 Long Island Iced Tea which is very well priced!
