I go to this location all the time and have to say this was the first time I had a bad experience here. Place was packed and didn't have to wait too long before getting seated, that was the best part of this dinner. Our table was all the way in the far back corner in a separate room from main restaurant. There was a speaker directly above our table, which was blasting music so loud we could not even talk to each other. Even that wasn't the worst of it. What really disappointed us was the quality of the food. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and salad. The salad was brought out and was so watery that it was not edible. Maybe they forgot to drain the lettuce all the way? Then when I finally got my steak it was so thin and overcooked that it wasn't edible. I ordered it medium rare but as you can see in the picture, it is not medium rare and it is so thin that it was just dry and salty. I had never been to Texas Roadhouse before and I am glad that I finally went to try those damn rolls! The service here is fantastic and attentive. The interior is loud and bustling. It reminded me of Phil's BBQ when they were in San Marcos. The rolls with the cinnamon honey butter is phenomenal. I think I ate like 6 rolls. We ordered the fried pickles which was tasty, but a bit salty. Then, we shared the 16 ounce ribeye with wild rice and a loaded baked potato. The baked potato was decent and the rice was good. The ribeye was cooked medium. It was juicy and tender. We got some au jus and horseradish on the side to dip the steak in. Overall, I had a great time here and enjoyed myself. I've never been to Texas Roadhouse or at least I remember visiting one chain MANY years ago (like 20+) which had their floors covered in peanuts and peanut shells. Was that Texas Roadhouse? Not sure but needless to say I have moved largely away from chain restaurants for a number of reasons. Today I was reminded of those reasons. The four of us came to this location around 3:30 pm on a Friday. I kept checking the Wait List on their mobile app and it just said "0 to 10 min" so I assumed the place was dead. We arrived to the parking lot which gives strong Hunger Games vibes as you try to hunt for a spot. There was no line outside the front door so my hunch was probably right. When we entered, it was like we stepped through a portal and landed right in Dallas, TX. Loud, busy, dark even though there were loads of bright lights. It was wild. I'm surprised no one was riding a bull and I half-expected a bar fight to break out just like in the movies. There were a number of people waiting, but I used the Wait List feature on the app so we got seated pretty quickly. We got seated in one of the last empty sections in the "main" dining room (there are other dining rooms, out of sight, I presume). The booth was kind of small. Luckily we're not big people but still it was tight. They had many two-person booths too which is cool. I've always preferred booth seating to open-air dining where people can stare at you from all sides. I started perusing the menu. After five seconds, our server appears wanting to take our drink order. I haven't even looked at the drink menu yet. She said she'll get some waters first. Shortly she appears with our waters ready to take our drink order. I still haven't looked at the drink menu because there is only ONE menu and we have three adults who want a cocktail. There were also no prices on the drink menu. Odd. I ordered a $5 LIT (Long Island Ice Tea) just for her to go away so I can look at the food menu now. After five minutes, she's ready to take our food order. I'm still looking at appetizers. I mentioned I registered for their VIP Club and got a free appetizer email. We got the $14.99 ribs for the appetizer. We all ordered our food and the food arrived very quickly as well as another basket of bread...which was pretty good but not the crack people keep talking about. I got the 16oz NY Strip. Wife got the 16oz Prime Rib. Daughter got the pulled pork sammich and gramma got the chicken fried steak. My steak looked great. Grill marks, thick. Temperature was good, not perfect (got med rare). The prime rib looked weird. See the pics. It was also med rare but maybe we needed to cook it longer. Wife did not like the "au jus" that came with it. My steak tasted like charcoal...most likely char from the grill and the countless steaks cooked on it before. My baked potato was the smallest potato I've ever seen in a restaurant lol. It was cute but damn potatoes are cheap. Why not give me a big fat potato? One of my sides was the chili, which was EXCELLENT. Really tasty and I upgraded to the bowl for just $0.99, instead of the cup. The bowl they gave me was HUGE. I ordered another drink but our server looked at me kind of funny. I wasn't sure why until I realized: they want us out! They want to seat the next customer and as I got my drink she asked if we wanted boxes. I seriously had just two bites of my steak. We chugged our drinks, boxed our food, hit the bathroom (which was packed with wet floors...eww), paid to only realize she "forgot" to comp the ribs appetizer (remember I had a free appetizer for my bday), so she had to go correct it. Nowadays I always double-check the receipt because mistakes seem to happen more regularly. So long story short: our experience here was not great. I feel like it could have been great...on a different day. Friday is a busy day and they want to churn-and-burn and I get it. Still my experience is a 3-star experience. Five star looks different. It's more calm and maybe I want three drinks? Just some quick notes: * There is NO happy hour. * They have an "Early Dine" menu for $14.99 (no drinks) featuring 11 discounted entrees. Our table had another "Early Dine" menu for $13.99. This is really confusing (check my photos). * For drinks, the $5 Long Island is always on the menu regardless of time or day. * Use the Wait List feature on the mobile app to shorten your wait. * If you get a cocktail, get the "Kicker" for $3 more (it's an extra shot). * You can pre-select your steak at the front (but does it really matter?). * Bread service appears to be unlimited. * Consider splitting an entree. So my friends called and invited me to dinner they wanted to go to Texas Road House in Oceanside I told them to go and have a good time that my niece and I had eaten there many times and we're just disappointed with the service, the food quality, and the management and that we had sworn off the place They offered to go somewhere else and I said no you go and let me know how it went So they went I got a call a couple of hours later I said the food was terrible. Came here the other day to enjoy a nice meal. I got the beef tips and they were delicious! The inside of the restaurant was clean and orderly, the bathrooms were decent too. I haven't gone to Texas Roadhouse in a long time and THIS experience was everything I knew it would be. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go since he lives close by and we finally got the chance last night. We came in around 8:45pm and got on the waitlist with the host. They sent me a text to be on standby for our table. It was pretty busy for their dinner rush but it felt like an organized chaos. We got sat around 9:20 and our server, Joe, helped us right away; super friendly and very good customer service! One of the best servers I've seen in awhile. My boyfriend got a Long Island and I got the Porch Rocker, they were pretty good. The bread rolls were, as always, super soft, fresh and warm. For appetizer, we got the Blooming Cactus and entrees were the Texas-sized combo (8oz sirloin and ribs) and the pulled pork. Both entrees came with 2 sides each and it was really filling. The entrees did take a little bit longer but it was WORTH the wait. All the meat was absolutely delicious and we ended up bringing leftovers home. Shout out to our amazing server, Joe! The place was already busy at 6 PM on Thursday and because we requested a table, little wait was in order. Parking was also pretty busy, but thanks to handicapped placard, we found a spot. Our order was (and I know it was not a place for a cheeseburger, but my boss like it very much) All American Cheeseburger with sweet potato, Country Fried Chicken with a cream gravy (with 2 sides - mashed potatoes- too salty and battered corn - pretty good), Sirloin Steak 8 oz was split between my son and daughter-in-law. But first we were seated with a famous cinnamon rolls, very addictive with a butter. Our waiter Marissa was quick to take our orders, still it was a quite a wait for food to arrive. Still 2 complaints- #1 is the noise, do you really need to raise decibels, when announcing the birth dates? I was joking that we need an ear plugs. #2 is the chairs around tables are atrocious, they are made from wood, no cushions (again I was telling my wife next time bring the cushions with ourselves), but what's interesting seatings around booths are with some resemblance of cushions. When we went inside to wash our hands there appeared to be a good amount of seating in the restaurant but since it's popular there's a bunch of seating outside for waiting. Lighting was kinda dim but still could see. Food was excellent. We ordered the prime rib and filet mignon/shrimp combo. Both were a good medium rare, though the prime rib was a bit more medium but still good! For sides we got the sweet potato, green beans, and fresh vegetables. All very good! Online waitlist is the way to go! We live 15 mins away and joined their online waitlist. When we parked, I texted them "here" to let them know our entire party had arrived. As we were walking to the front door, I get a text saying to check in at the front desk and that our table was ready. We didn't even have to wait 5 mins to be seated. So online waitlist FTW! The bread is delicious and my kiddos love the potato skins. Their portions are pretty big and their prices are low compared to other restaurants. Our waitress was ok. Not really friendly but she got our order right and was on top of refilling our drinks. What more can you ask for? The appetizers came out in record time, followed by our meal. I don't know why I order an entree as I always get full off of appetizers and bread. We are in and out in less than an hour. We weren't rushed but there was a wait when we were seated and there were more people waiting when we left. Parking is kind of a pain here. Not very many spots and the spots are tiny. She gave us a half smile when greeting and wasn't professional at all during the time we were there. Her hair was barely back too, just a very lose, tossed up bun. We had an outstanding experience at Texas Roadhouse last night! We drove down from Irvine (about an hour away) -- but we checked in on the app beforehand. When we arrived, my husband got seated right away -- it was so quick that my kids and I were still in the restroom when we got called back! The food was incredible -- we love the rolls with the honey butter, of course, and our meals were delicious as well. Among our party, we had the BBQ, some steak, and the kids' riblets. We also got to see the servers dance, which made for a fun experience. Let me just start by saying the service there is very good but the food, well.... We arrived at 11:30 and were immediately seated. Our table looked clean, but I immediately smelled what reminded me of our son's sweaty football gear stored overnight in the garage. IYKYK. Our server Anastasia was extremely nice and yes, she still got the 20% tip because nothing here was under her control. We ordered and after approximately 20 minutes we noticed patrons around us started to fill up the booths and their food had arrived well after we had ordered. Anastasia came by, told us our food was next out and she placed more bread on the table. At the 30-minute mark, our food had arrived and it "looked" very good. My wife took a bite of her mashed potatoes and grimaced. They were cold, even in the center. We also ordered the sampler platter, which arrived with the meal? Although the plating was great, it was all luke warm and pretty much tasted like over salted bowling alley food. We've never had a server take back food in this rare situation because of horror stories on what is returned. We did tell Anastasia about it and she apologized profusely and offered us another plate. We already waited a half-hour for our meal and wasn't doing that again. My warm steak was decent if you didn't mind it topped with cold mushrooms (gross). The steak came with a processed chicken filet with bbq sauce on it (also luke warm). I was expecting real bbq chicken but the cafeteria stuff I received was baaaaad. Went tonight on a Saturday night with my family. We haven't been in a while because of how insanely busy it always is, but we decided to go tonight for the delicious food we knew them to have. Turns out that is no longer the case. The steaks had NO seasoning, the lettuce in our salads tasted wilted and bagged. I always remember the salads being so fresh... my mashed potatoes and gravy were flat out cold when they were brought out, and my husbands $40 steak that he ordered "medium" is pictured below... chewy as a spare tire. The server was also not how I remember their standard for service. I asked him 3 times for ranch. By the time he finally brought it I no longer needed it. He was less than enthusiastic about serving us. We dine out a couple times a week and have a lot to compare this to and can honestly say it was Just over all such a disappointment. My first time visiting this restaurant but went with a friend who comes here frequently. I won a gift card at a charity event so this was on my list to try. We arrived close to 4pm and there was a short wait which surprised me on a Wednesday afternoon. Then I saw they offered Early Dine menu and I thought that must be why there was a wait. We were dining "early" but it was more of a late lunch after visiting the Carlsbad Flower Fields and running a couple of errands. As diners were being seated the servers would grab a basket of bread which is great when you are hangry! I guess you can also view their selection of meats and choose one. Our server was very nice and asked if it was our first time and if we viewed the steaks. Also at our table was a bag of sealed peanuts - yum! We ordered the #CactusBloom as a started and enjoyed it. Too much for two but hoping it will heat up well in an air fryer for later (and it does!). I took advantage of the #EarlyDine menu and ordered the #6ozSirloinSteak. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. I also ordered a side of #GrilledShrimp. These were okay - a bit skimpy and not grilled enough for me. My sides were their #GreenBeans (a tad too salty) and #BakedPotatoLoaded which was a winner. My friend ordered the #SteakhouseFiletSalad which looked huge and must be good because she ate every bite. I keep coming back here and I'm not sure why. I spoke to a manager at least 6-9 months ago about them having pantry moths there, and they have continued to have them. So if you see a moth flying around, that's what it it is. And it may be in the food you're eating. It may even go home with you. And good luck if it does! My steak was also very undercooked as well. Parking was also insane - had to walk a good amount to get there. It was worth it, though! Fast and super friendly service! They even do some choreographed staff dance every hour or so. Super loud and lively casual atmosphere. Free rolls and sweet butter when you're seated. That's one of the things I think they're known for. I tried a sangria margarita, combo appetizer (your choice of 3 apps out of many options), and bbq chicken / ribs combo plate (comes with two sides). My sides were mac and fries. Mac was a bit extra.
