Not the greatest experience. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and asked to have no cheese and a side of lemons instead of dressing. What I received was a very sad looking salad that had 4 slices of chicken some bacon bits and lettuce. The picture and description had egg, tomato's, onion and croutons. Confused and thinking I got the wrong salad the server stated that's how it comes. I re-look at the menu to see that I was correct and it was suppose to come more toppings. I show the sever and she says " ooh you're just wanting the sides?! Like it's now a request to get regular toppings on a salad?! I love Ribeye steaks and I had one of the best ones here. Medium rare, juicy and wonderful. My boyfriend had the roadkill and was jealous of the meat I had. We ordered a variety of sides to share. Mashed potatoes were phenomenal, green beans and bacon were sinfully delicious and the rice we had was a front runner too. Oh gosh I will so be back. The rolls are so good. Everything was great. I love country music and they lined danced in the restaurant (the servers) which was really fun to see. We called ahead to join the waitlist and didn't have to wait when we got there. First time coming here, and was not disappointed even after an hour wait. Glad we waited because the bread rolls and my ribs were AMAZING!. Our server was on top of everything as well. Worst restaurant i've ever been too and has nothing to do with the food. Staff is extremely rude and condescending. Management gets even worse and none of them have a clue on how to run a restaurant. What can I say about Texas Roadhouse? I like to think of them like the rest of Texas -- they REALLY try; which anyone can appreciate. I should start by saying this place is okay; a little bit was great, some was pretty awful, and most was just, m'eh. Alright, one step at a time. First, we came at night, meaning that the neon outside was in full Vegas mode. With nothing around even remotely like it, Texas Roadhouse sticks out with Trump depths of tackiness. Driving by it once is novel, but I can imagine it would quickly drive others nearby insane. It's important to note that this is a 'Texas-style' steakhouse, but they are in Southern California; meaning they put a painting of a surfer girl on the beach at sunset up on the wall to look at while eating handfuls of peanuts. We watched others chew on shells, spitting them on the floor, and marveled at the locals wearing sandals and flip-flops, getting bits of peel and grit between their toes. Sitting down, we made our order, held hands, and heard the first of six birthday songs ring out while seeing the occasional line dance in the aisle near the bar. It was kitschy in a TGIF's kind of way, fun for the first 20 minutes or so, but it does become annoying after a while, as it adds to an already VERY high noise level. We started with the Rattlesnake Bites, which were light brown spheres that give the distinct impression they were not made on-site. Many franchise places have that factory assembly line feel to certain side dishes (the Steak Fries here included) and seeing these hit the table was disappointing. The taste was okay, though most of the flavor was in the dip, and there was no heat from the jalapeños inside. They did lack that nasty burst of moisture you normally get when biting into something fried after being frozen, which was nice ... and could possibly mean that they actually do make them on site ... MOVING ON! Next we dove into our table bread, very sweet on its own and served with maple butter. They glisten impressively, are made fresh up front, and aren't too bad as long as you understand you're probably getting the same amount of sugar as you would eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes. I had the Ft. Worth Ribeye Combo w/Ribs. The steak itself was cooked perfectly, medium rare with a good amount of pink and very juicy, which was nice because with the 10 oz. cut, it made my steak thin and could have been easily overcooked. They grilled it nicely, put a perfect amount of salt on it, and let the warm fat marbling the beef do most of the talking like any steakhouse worth their cows should. Seriously, a truly outstanding ribeye. My ribs, on the other hand, were a major letdown. When taking a bite, the sauce was good, but the meat fell apart into mush, making it a bizarre contrast between a nice taste and an unappealing texture in my mouth. And yes, they added the sauce, which is a major point when it comes to real barbecue. I love Phil's, but I agree that grilling and slathering with Kraft is not the real way to go. Here, we discovered that they have a three day process to cook their ribs; yes, they dry rub to saturate the meat with flavor, and cook for an extended time (too much, apparently) at low heat, but then they just pour on a secondary sauce right before plating. That's not good barbecue. With this end result, the sauce may be tasty, but the pork should fall off the bone clean and still have the tensile strength to stick together in soft, meaty strips, not melt in your mouth into an oily paste. My love got the 16 oz. cut of Prime Rib. It completely filled her platter and, visually, was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. It was pink, a nice crust on the edges, very juicy, and marbled with gorgeous ribbons of white-pink fat. Then she bit into it and her eyes went wide. It had no flavor, no penetration of spice down into the meat, with only the crust giving any hint of rise from the basic and flat taste of unseasoned beef. She ended up having to sprinkle a healthy dose of salt over it to enjoy it, something she NEVER does. After hearing from the waitress of our concerns, the chef came over and explained the process that goes into making their prime rib, the seasoning, the resting time, the slow cook, the roasting. The jack-ass in me wanted to say, "That sounds incredible! Can we have a slice of THAT prime rib?" Bit my tongue, though. He was very nice about it and very proud of their style, though he did offer horseradish to help add flavor, which was just wrong. Don't cover up the bland, cook it right to start. So, an excellent steak, a sucky prime rib, and slightly below average everything else for a strong two stars in my eyes. I think it's more disappointing because of the high cost. For what we spent at Texas Roadhouse, we could have gotten a few steps better in taste at Ruth's Chris. No, I'm not expecting the Delmonico at Carthay Circle, but it should still be better here than at Outback. read more

Exceptional bread rolls. I am often full before my food gets to the table because of how good the complimentary rolls are. They have the best ribs I've had from any chain restaurant, and they have a very fun and active environment. Looks are definitely deceiving. My parents wanted to come here to celebrate my Dad's birthday because the restaurant is "new". Sure, we were open to a new place but the name didn't quite sound appealing. When we arrived there were so many people waiting to be seated. OMG, our wait was almost an hour. You can curb your hunger by eating some peanuts and then throw them on the ground. I hate mess so it was kinda weird stepping all over the shells. We were led to a corner for our table of 10. We were served complementary warm bread and butter. Delicious!!! We kept loading up on the bread and butter. SO good. All entrees come with a salad and sides. I ordered a cesar salad with my meal and my main entree was the half ribs and steak with a side of corn. I have to say for the amount of food I got for $25, that's an amazing deal! The food was actually pretty good. Given that it was super busy, the service was on par and friendly. For birthdays, they bring over a saddle for the birthday person to ride like a cowboy and the whole restaurant sings happy birthday. Came here on a somewhat busy afternoon but we still managed to find parking and kept busy with some peanuts. The fun thing about this place while you're waiting is that you get to eat peanuts and just leave the shells on the ground. It's also great that there's a huge sign that says peanuts and peanut dust everywhere. Better known as, if you got a peanut allergy, it's best that you don't go there. In any case, we got seated within 15 minutes and once we got seated they took our water order and handed us some freshly baked rolls, which were just fine. Substituted the potato skins with the fried pickle and we thought it was a great choice. It was crispy and that pickle was still slightly crunchy. The rattlesnake bites were okay. I really had no expectations for them other than spicy cheese. The other item were boneless buffalo chicken. They were just okay. I ordered medium and they weren't spicy at all. I would definitely order the fried pickles again. They were so good. I ordered the bbq chicken meal with two sides. I was expecting dry chicken breast but man, it was not. It was juicy and flavorful. I guess it also helps that there was enough bbq sauce for all of Timbuktu. But it was still juicy. The side salad was more filling than I thought. It has cheese, hard boiled eggs, tomato, and things I can't recall. The other side that I ordered was the green beans. Let me tell you, these were not bland. Why? Because it was cooked with bacon. It was a little salty to me though. The BF ordered the ribeye steak with bbq ribs. His sides were steamed vegetables and steak fries. The ribeye was cooked to his preference and he stated that it was a pretty good steak. The pork ribs were quite dry. We were so disappointed. Like it fell off the bone but it was just so dry. Mooooooo.....5 Star worthy for sure. So I've been on the quest to find a great steak that's not too expensive. Texas Roadhouse did not disappoint me last night. We started off with the blooming onion and some margarita's with a shot of Patron 1800 (Very good). The blooming onion was very good but not necessary. They bring you a bucket of peanuts and warm rolls with cinnamon butter so there's really no reason to order an appetizer. I ordered the 20oz bone in rib eye that I picked out myself. I picked one that had just the right amount of marbling. They cut the steaks there in house (with the exception of the T-Bone). I had it cooked medium rare and added grilled onions and mushrooms to top it off.... The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The first bite was so good it just melted in mouth...like literally melted in mouth. Mid way thru the steak I started to get the "Meat Sweats"...LoL.. but I pulled thru and CowGirled and finished the whole thing. The steak dinner comes with your choice of two sides. I had nerve to order a side salad and their seasoned rice. As much as I would like to give you a review of the sides, it's not gonna happen. I didn't even touch them. Might I add we also had excellent customer service. Our waitress Amanda was very attentive, fun, and made sure we were taken care of. I will be returning real soon. Went there before a movie. Didn't order any entrees, I only ordered appetizers. The cactus blossom was super good and the rattle snake bites were amazing. The potatoes skins were just like anything else and the Buffalo wings were meh. The only thing that kept me stuffing my mouth was the cactus blossom and bites. The rattlesnake bites had the right amount of gooey cheese and spicy level. The roasted peanuts were a plus, way better tasting than the ones you get for free at five guys too. Definitely fun and live place to go to. On the outside the place is super quiet but once you open the doors it's a whole different story. The waiter was super nice, very attentive, always asked if everything was okay. Lots of TV to watch from. The rolls with cinnamon butter is good, service is cool but the waitress doesn't listen. I'll blame it on her being overwhelmed since the place was packed (oh and it's loud!) My prime rib was subpar, the mashed potatoes were lumpy with undercooked chunks in it. The brown gravy is bland, the cream gravy was a little tastier. The corn was over peppered and just blah. The ribeye that was also ordered at the table was much better, it had great flavor & was cooked perfect. The sweet potato was good but the mac n cheese looked and tasted like straight up boxed Kraft Mac n cheese. They don't give military discounts but wear t-shirts that say, "Thank You Veterans".
