We got there after maybe 17 minutes instead of 15, told the hostess we arrived and she gave us a pager and told us we still had about a 5 minute wait. Is it just me or did she not do her math correctly? Whatever. We sat and waited for 10+ minutes. My dad went and spoke to one of the 3-4 people hosting, who then told us that they gave us a pager that wasn't working, therefore we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. We understand it's a Friday evening and it's busy. But we weren't impressed with their lack of customer service, they didn't seem apologetic for their mistake, so we left. Honestly don't know why I bother, besides the fact that I really love Texas Roadhouse food, when cooked properly. I love roadhouse in general, I hosted and served at one in Lynchburg, VA, but this roadhouse just cannot do it. They struggle with cooking steaks when I dine in, but to go food is usually pretty terrible unfortunately. I waited 15 mins after the time my food was quoted to be ready without being acknowledged, yet being right at the front counter. Then spoke up and said I was here for a to go order, and waited another 10+ to even get my food. Bring it home and find my "medium" cooked steak to be char broiled well done. This was my first visit to a TR... and I enjoyed it very much. Walking in, I was intrigued by the peanut shells on the floor (Not any in the seating area, just by the door, where ppl wait), but then I saw that I could watch a guy making the rolls, and he interacted with me as well... GREAT rolls thank you :)... Then we were seated, and our waitress, Leigha, was great. Personable, and friendly... Makes leaving a tip enjoyable, because she took care of us nicely. When we checked in for my six year old special needs Childs birthday dinner at 4 we had no idea it would be a 45 min wait. We asked them if there was any accommodations they could make as she wasn't able to wait that long and was hungry. The host let us sit and brought us fries,the manager came to complain that we sat at an empty section, said her host didn't know even after we explained she was okay with it and brought us fries. 45 mins later they sat us at another table but it was two long for a special needs child to wait so we took our food to go with no birthday desert. My husband and I have been going to this location for years. This was the most disappointing experience we've ever had! Service was haphazard and disorganized. There was no true concern about the quality or satisfaction. They used to ask you to cut into the meat to see if it was cooked correctly, no more. The bread was stale, we saw two tables request replacement. My 8 ounce filet was charred black and inedible. The customer behind us had the same issue. The other table got the wrong sides but just decided to keep them after waiting so long. A "manager " happened to walk by and asked how the food was and I showed her the steak. She apologized and took it and ordered a new one for me. She disappeared and I never saw her again. The other table requested to see her but she never returned. 20 minutes later my steak returned and I boxed it up and we left. I was so tired. Went to the Texas Roadhouse in Palmyra last night and when my NY Strip arrived I couldn't saw through it or chew it. I spoke to the manager and she told me that their NY Strip steaks are supposed to be tough as shoe leather. Really. She said "If you wanted a tender steak you shouldn't have ordered the strip, you should have ordered the filet." I asked for a different steak which seemed appropriate and she huffed and puffed a bit as she took away the hockey puck they served me. Sixteen minutes later, when my companions had finished their meals, the filet arrived. She dropped the plate on the table and demanded that I cut into it to see if "you're going to like this one" and I did but then mentioned that it had taken so long for them to cook a medium rare inch thick filet that the others at the table were finished with their meals and said I was not happy about it. Then she said "You were the one who asked for another steak." like the whole thing was my fault. I told her to take it away as I didn't want it and didn't expect to pay for it. read more

My wife enjoys Texas Roadhouse steaks and their chili soup. We have eaten at this particular TR twice in two weeks. The chili was not the same each visit, according to my wife. The second time she states it was obviously warmed in a microwave because of uneven temperature throughout. She stated it also tasted old. The first visit to the restaurant was a better experience for her. We like steaks cooked medium-rare; the restaurant seems to send them out seconds earlier than medium-rare - close, but more rare than we would like. It may be a good idea to institute the 'cut into it first' upon delivering food to the table, like experienced in other chain stores in Maryland. The steaks were still of good quality and we ate them as they were delivered. The ambience was like all other Texas-style steakhouses: noisy and a variety of music - Country AND Western. The food will keep us coming back though maybe not the chili. I like the contactless payment method offered. One simply scans a QR code at the table and enters a code on the bill left by the wait staff. One then pays and tips online. An electronic receipt is emailed. Nice. The restaurant did not observe the six foot seating social-distancing rule on the Sunday night we went last. I would recommend the restaurant for the food and the courteous wait staff! read more

I have to say after living in Philadelphia for over a decade, I had pretty low expectations coming back to my hometown and going out to dinner with my parents. After all, I had friends that use to work at these restaurants when we were younger and they were not the most responsible, not to mention that we try not to frequent the chain restaurants often. My husband and I with parents in tow, stopped in here for a meal. The waitress bounced over, greeted us warmly, inticed us with cocktails and ran down the daily specials. She was also very knowledgable about any thing I pointed out on the menu. My dad and I had the filet mignon, which was a fabulous cut, and cooked to perfection! My mom had the sirloin beef tips! The plate was enormous and must have weighed 3 pounds!! There was a LOT of food not to mention it also came with two sides! My husband had the ribs which he was skeptic at first, he always claims that he can't get good ribs but was pleasantly surprised with the portion and that the meat was actually fall off the bone! It was my birthday so I got to sit on the sawhorse as they scream the birthday song- mortifying!! (Another reason why I don't go to chains, but I let my guard down!) All in all, the food was nice and the service was pretty spot on! I have to tip my hat that in the middle of nowhere, they know how to turn out great food and atmosphere. I have eaten at Texas Roadhouse for a number of years and I find that their food is very delicious, plus the service I received during those years was very good. There were a few times that I had received food prepared in ways that I had not ordered it to be, and I was either reimbursed for the meal or there were a few dollars taken off my bill for having been inconvenienced. I am now vegetarian and I can still visit Texas Roadhouse and have a great meal. I am an octo-vegetarian; someone who eats no meat, but will consume fish. I find that there aren't a lot of food choices for vegetarians, but it's still well worth the visit if you're really hungry for grilled shrimp, great salads, or a variety of side-dish foods. My favorite dish is the skewer of shrimp, seasoned with garlic lemon butter, over rice. Instead of rice I order another Caesar salad as a side, and have them combine both side Caesar salads, making it into one large salad that I can eat with my shrimp. So if you're vegetarian or an octo-vegetarian, you can also order fresh vegetables, baked potatoes, grilled salmon, fried catfish, and tater skins. Also available are: Rattlesnake bites, which are diced jalapenos and jack cheese, hand-battered and lightly fried, served with Cajun horseradish sauce for dipping. There ARE other items of interest, so check out the menu. So, the next time you see a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, stop by. You won't be disappointed. The one I frequent in Palmyra is very good, and the service is pretty fast. The earlier you go, the quicker you'll be served. The only thing about this or any of the other restaurants - the place is very noisy and I'm a person who likes to hear myself taking to the other person who is sitting in front of me. If it were a more quiet atmosphere, I would have given Texas Roadhouse five stars. read more

Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite restaurants, but giving this Texas Roadhouse even a one star rating is being overly generous. Numerous of times I have come to this Texas Roadhouse, and they have managed to mess my simple "Dallas filet medium well done with onions and cheese" steak up. Normally by undercooking it and making it way to bloody for my taste. With me having past restaurant experience, I was forging of there mistakes and continued to come back. This time was the final straw!! My fiancé and I don't get many date nights, but when we do we usually choose to go here. Tonight when we went it was absolutely the worst experience I have ever encountered when going to a restaurant. It first started out by when we placed our order we had told the waiter from the start that we would want cocktail sauce with the shrimp, knowing they make it themselves. We gave this advance notice so it could come out with the shrimp, and my fiancé wouldn't have too wait and end up eating his shrimp cold. Not only when they brought us our order did they forget the cocktail sauce, but when I told the woman we had already told our waiter we wanted it she couldn't have been nastier. Expressing to me how they pre-make it and it takes time to make, I expressed this is what the advance notice was for. Our server was not the greatest with checking on us to see how our appetizers were, if we needed any more bread, or even to get our drinks refilled for us. When he finally did come to ask my fiancé if he wanted another drink which had been empty for quite some time, he didn't even bother to collect the plates that were stock piling on her table. So then when we finally got our dinner we had a a mount of plates, that he still did not collect. When I cut into my steak it almost looked as they forgot to cook it, not exactly what I would consider medium well done. At this point I was furious, I asked another waiter, not even our own to get me a manager because our waiter kept disappearing. Did I mention he never even checked on us? When the manager McKenzie finally came over I started to explain the whole experience to her. I explained everything I stated above, but in addition I also explained to her how my fiancés steak wasn't rare like he wanted it. Granted McKenzie did offered to replace our steaks, but my fiancé is not like me he won't complain so he said he would just eat his as is. I told them that they could replace mine, but after over 20 minutes of waiting I finally told our server I just wanted the bill. Considering my fiancé was already done eating, and I was going to eat by myself. Not exactly what I pay roughly $100 for! So it really irritated me was once I told the manager that I didn't want the food anymore, and I just wanted the bill... She didn't even come back over in attempt to try to talk to me. So when I left with me being a manager in retail, I knew that wasn't the way to treat a paying customer. I attempted to call once I had left and I asked to get a different manager from the one I dealt with McKenzie when I was there. Next thing I know McKenzie picks up the phone and re-listens to me vent about my experience, but then ended the whole conversation with "I offered to replace your steak". At this point I could see the conversation was going nowhere, but I still even tried to explain to her that replacing my steak doesn't make up for all the time I spent waiting. Or the fact that I did not get to eat with my fiancé, or the fact that it doesn't make the treatment I received okay. She said again that she apologized but left it at that, which told me she had no intentions of trying to make it right. I'm never one to look for free things, but in a situation like this something should've been offered to accommodate me for my time and aggravation. I was highly disappointed in the server, and I was disappointed in the food... But thanks to McKenzie, my fiancé and I will not be returning to the Palmyra Texas roadhouse. we would go there at least two times a month, which is business that they are now losing. Continue to not go the extra mile for customers, that's going to put a very bad impact on their business. Next time we will go the extra distance and we will head to the Reading Texas Roadhouse. This woman claimed that she was the store manager, and I hope that she was only an Assistant. If this is the type of treatment a store manager would give to a customer, they made a poor choice in choosing her as their selection.
