The food was good; however nothing exceptional for the price we paid. We had French onion soup, the scallops and lobster tail with risotto, and a creamy corn with bacon. Lobster had no flavor, but the scallops were delicious. The soup and risotto were pretty good, and the corn dish was very flavorful. Unfortunately all the food was barely warm. The host was great, but we waited 10 or 15 minutes for a menu and any greeting from our waitress. Very disappointing service. The waitress was not pleasant and very inattentive. We had to ask for salt and pepper, water and more bread. The food was presented in a timely manner. The atmosphere was very pleasant, quiet and upscale. Very nice. This is a steak house of convenience in a Casino. The staff is friendly and the dining room is clean. The drinks are acceptable. I had a vodka martini but they do not have blue cheese olives. Appetizers were ok. The calamari was the best, cooked well, flavorful and tender. The shrimp cocktail were ok. Nothing special. The crab sliders were ok but the rolls seemed stale and reheated, not toasted if that makes sense. The crab itself was decent. I got the ribeye steak. It was ok. Cooked to medium rare as ordered but no special taste and certainly not Prime nor even high grade choice and not aged. It was chewy. But it was not gristly so that was good. So overall, I would say this place is a three. It is not a spectacular one of a kind steakhouse. It is a Middle of Nowhere Casino Let's Pretend You're a High Roller steakhouse. I booked this dinner online to celebrate my mother's, Girlfriends and her mother's birthday. We were also celebrating Mother's Day for the 2 moms. I have been to Final Cut many times before and the food has always been good and we enjoyed our experiences. I booked a reservation online for 5 people at 6 o clock on Wednesday 5/14. I then called in 3 days before the reservation to confirm everything was in order. I was told it was. When we arrived I checked in at the host stand and was shown to our table. I had requested a table in the dining room and we were shown to a table in the bar area. I asked why this was and was told on the bar is open on Wednesday. We were then given a menu that was a limited menu and was told this was all they had on Wednesday nights. There was limited steaks and entrees. Virtually no appetizers. No sides. No mashed potatoes. Basically just a broken down bar menu. We chose this steakhouse to have a great celebration dinner in a nice atmosphere and got bar food in a bar. I was never told online, or when I called in that this would be the case. If it was I would have changed the reservation to a day that we weren't eating in a basic bar. There should be information online or be told when calling in this was the case. We didn't have a choice but to eat there once we arrived and sat Because it was the only restaurant open in the casino at that time. If you go on a Wednesday, make sure you're aware that you will be eating in a bar, with bar food. The experience is not worth the $250 we spent to eat in a bar. I should have went to Aroogas instead. I usually love the food and atmosphere and have a great time at Final Cut. This time I am extremely disappointed in the visit. Unfortunately, our celebration was ruined. This was my second visit to Final Cut, and first as a reluctant vegan. When making the reservations, I indicated that I was a vegan. Kaitlin reached out to me to find out if I included honey or oysters in my diet, and my comfort level with vegetables cooked in a shared fryer. It says a lot that she reached out to be sure I could enjoy the dining experience. I started with a throwback- Cosmopolitan. Not bad. I decided to have the Brussel sprouts and Fingerling potatoes for dinner. I absolutely love flash fried and roasted Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were flash-fried with peppers. At first bite, the peppers were a sweet addition. The Brussel sprouts were so greasy I simply couldn't enjoy them. Flash fried shouldn't equate to oil doused. I didn't attempt to even finish them. The potatoes, on the other hand, were delicate and creamy. Delicious! In hindsight, I wish I ordered a salad and potatoes. Lesson learned. read more

First time here & will be back! We sat in the bar area and it took a long time for a server/bartender to greet us at our table. Once that connection was made though, Troy did an excellent job! We drank multiples cosmopolitans. I had the 16oz NY Strip steak which was delicious. The side dishes are separate but big enough to share between 2 people, we got the fresh asparagus, mashed potato's, and fingerling potatoes. Compared to the mashed, the roasted fingerling potatoes were good, but just average- the mashed potatoes are buttery and delicious! EXTREMELY expensive! I tried to order cheap and our Bill was still over 100 bucks with no dessert. Everything is very clean and tidy. Bread is provided and it is delicious.. I ordered scallops and was a bit surprised there were just three. I also ordered spinach and it literally tasted like it came straight out of the can and dunked in a cream sauce. I've been going to the Final Cut for year and years. Not sure what the issue is but the last 2 or 3 times were horrific. Took clients there and the meat was rotted and spoiled. I am a regular player at Hollywood Casino and a Owner's Club member. I frequently get comp for dinner so have experienced the steakhouse on several occasions. I have been disappointed on several occasions. My favorite cut is a Ribeye steak so that is usually what I order. I do order my steak medium temperature but can say that for a steakhouse, the kitchen has messed up my steak on NUMEROUS occasions. About 1 week ago, I had the worst experience so far. I seriously am considering other casinos due to the poor food experiences I have gotten at this restaurant. During my last visit, I started with a lettuce wedge starter which was very good. I ordered a MEDIUM done ribeye with a side of asparagus for my main course. When the steak came out, I cut into the steak and it was basically uncooked. The waiter agreed upon seeing the steak and asked that I send it back to the kitchen. I usually hate sending food back but this time agreed. When the steak came out a second time, it was still rare (not medium as requested). The steak went back to the kitchen for a SECOND TIME!!! When the steak came out for the third time, I took 1 bite and the steak was unedible. It was so dry and had lost its juices from being re-processed. To make matters worse, the waiter forgot to put my order of asparagus in. I had paid for the meal with the casino comp already before the meal came out so basically, I used a comp for a lettuce starter. Feeling so frustrated, I just walked out having had the worst experience at this place. Usually I tip 30% of the bill or more but this time did not leave a tip. I would recommend a different steakhouse as this place has made many mistakes on the many occasions that I have visited. Parking is either available in the garage or by valet in the front of the main entrance of the casino. Beware to enter the casino you must be twenty one and they scan your license before you can even enter at all! Okay, so this place is located inside of a casino and is very far from the front entrance. It's in the opposite side of the building basically. If you follow the signs you could find it rather easily. It's a big entrance with a host waiting at a podium with a tablet with your reservation. Which I might add can be made in yelp! They do your best to choose a table that you prefer over another table that you do not at all. The inside is well decorated will dresses, suits, and other movie memorabilia. The place feels very upscale on the interior with big booths and tables. It has floor to ceiling windows and a wine room. When you first walk in to the right is high too seating in the bar area if you want to drink and eat more casually. The staff is great and so are the menus on the tables for wine. These things are so cool it has so much information! The food menu is traditional paper but high end feel. The wine list is extremely extensive so that's great! The food on the other hand has many options which is great too but beware! The meat and cheese appetizer was okay for two people and was good. The oyster were the worst I ever had in my life I mean broken shells in your food with no flavor at all! The veal chop was dry as can be and had no flavor either. The filet minion had no blackened on it at all. It was they didn't even cook it on a grill...we didn't bother to give desert a try... As a former employee of HCPNRC, I knew more than anyone how the upstairs venues were fairing. Rock solid, the Epic Buffet opened with great anticipation and has been a success. The Skybox is a joke and Glitterati's is on a slow decline; I don't expect much from the coffee shop either....Final Cut on the other hand has turned itself around and deserves at least one visit from each of the casino's patrons. It is with brutal honesty that I say when this place first opened, it tanked. The prices were way higher than the food deserved and it was just a mess of a meal. Seeing the sinking ship, the powers at be shuffled around their chefs to resuscitate the suffering steakhouse. Much to their satisfaction, they succeeded. All my Hollywood contentions aside, Final Cut is truly a fine dining experience. Amidst the colorful, clamorous casino floor, encased in soundproof walls, is this delectable, a la carte eatery. Adopting many of the former "museum's" Hollywood trinkets, Final Cut is carries out Penn National's elected theme of "Hollywood" in perhaps the best display on the grounds. In addition to the memorabilia, the architecture makes use of clever spacing and stylish curvature to create an elegant environment in an otherwise standard gambling facility. This lavish look is accompanied by a well put together menu that spans across surf and turf; offering just the right variety. If you have never been to an a la carte style restaurant before, it simply means you are ordering piecemeal (pun absolutely intended). Don't worry, the menu reads clearly and there are no tricks afoot. Items on the menu come exactly as described. If you order a steak you get a steak, and only a steak -sides are extra. It sounds like a ripoff but really it's fine. If you still don't understand, try asking your server what your order comes with. Again, they will say "nothing." Well, actually they won't, they are much more professional. In fact, we were very impressed by how hospitable the staff here was. To wrap this up as politely as possible, I am very impressed with how well they turned this restaurant around. For awhile I was afraid I wasn't going to get to dine here before it folded up. What's more, I never thought I would be promoting it! The food is prepared perfectly, the wine pairing was superb. It's a bit on the high side for price, but worth every penny. On Saturday, July 14, 2018, my sister and I hosted a 95th birthday party for my mom at the Final Cut Steakhouse (inside the Hollywood Casino) that was attended by 120 guests from across the United States. Over a 6-month span prior to the party, I worked with Valerie W. (the casino's Catering Manager) to organize the event's many, many details - i.e. special table and seating layouts, custom menus, detailed décor and ambiance, and accessibility for those with disabilities. Having degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales, I know what it takes to pull off a successful event - without question, Valerie and her crew know even better than me how to pull off a party! Every single detail of the event was executed flawlessly. The room was laid out exactly as discussed, the décor was spot on, the meal courses were served with perfect timing, the cold courses were served cold, the hot course was served hot, every course tasted great, and each and every guest was shown genuine hospitality. The highlight of the event though was the staff - I have never witnessed a more welcoming and professional group of wait staff. They simply kicked butt! This party was by no means the cheapest event I have ever hosted but the saying "you get what you pay for" could not be truer after my experience this past weekend. After the event was over and knowing that each guest had a great time, the final bill was honestly a bargain. If you're looking for a unique venue to hold a special event in Central Pennsylvania, this is the place. Without question, I will hold my next major event with them again. We made reservations for this place during a double date night with another couple. No complaints about the hostess who was a nice older lady who sat us right away despite us showing up 15 minutes early. Our server was Julie and she was absolutely wonderful! A little quiet, but very attentive and super nice. Our food, however, was a bit lackluster. We ordered the Prawns and Gulf Shrimp as our apps, the Gulf Shrimp were impressive and yummy... but that lemongrass aspect of the Prawns dish was super overpowering. For dinner, the other couple had ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye and the 10oz Filet, the Ribeye was perfect according to him... but the filet was salty and undercooked which is funny because my better half also ordered the same 10oz Filet to be prepared at the same temperature (medium) and it was definitely overcooked. I had ordered the scallops... and there could have been more on my plate. I was mildly unimpressed. Although the scallops were cooked well and they were decently sized, the sides really took the win on this dish. Their crab mac is AMAZING! The service was subpar at best, I've been to many steak houses and this one was full of racist rude people that bagged up our food brought in security and were ready to escort us out because they felt my younger sister was intoxicated. This steakhouse is ya mediocre at best if you're judging it in the higher end steakhouse realm. Sure, the decor is better than Texas Roadhouse, but the food quality is about on par. The oysters I ordered had 6-7 pieces of broken shell per oyster in them, and it was work to eat them. The vinegar slaw topping served with it looked like it had been sitting out for a few days. To take a step back, they have Weller 12 year... at $42/order. This is a bottle that retails in the $30-40/bottle range. Sure, it's rare, but even in the secondary market it only trades for around $150-175 (maybe $180-190 in LA or NYC). The steak itself, again, run of the mill rib-eye for $57. You can get the exact same steak at Texas Roadhouse for less than half that. The lobster tail add on? Tastes like pasty, expired seafood. Stay away at all costs. I'm surprised I didn't get sick from it. Bottom-line, probably the best decorum around the area, but that's all you're paying for. They fancy themselves a Philly or NYC style steakhouse, but the Final Cut does not make the cut. Save your money and eat elsewhere. read more
