We decided to sit at the bar while waiting for our table. I had two drinks and the bill was $34+ without a tip! We had to return to the hostess stand to ask about our table. It was supposed to be 5-15 minute wait and they'd text my phone. After my husband went up to the station to check in, we were immediately seated! It had been approximately 30 minutes. We ordered an appetizer and it came out quickly along with our salads. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done--no pink at all! My husband was finished with his dinner, so I tracked down my server to cancel my order. Shortly after he stopped by and said we could pay at the table. He asked if the manager stopped by. No one stopped by. We've always liked this location the best, but this time makes us question whether we will ever return. Very disappointing. The music is generally at a level to enjoy. Welp this will probably be our last visit for a while. The customer service is usually pretty good however not today. Let me start off by saying that I've been in the serving business before so this isn't a review from someone who hasn't been in one's shoes. 1. We are sat in the back part of the restaurant where I quickly observe that it's a closing section meaning servers are finishing up on their last tables, cleaning, doing their side work and leaving. Now ordinarily this would be okay and possibly appreciated since I was there with my husband if it wasn't for the next issue. 2. A server greets us and informs us they are in training but without their trainer. The trainer appears and it seems as if the server in training jumped the gun. He takes our drink orders and steps away. He returns but does not provide straws. He takes our order and this is the last time he sees us but not the last time we see him. 3. Our $10 appetizer arrives and it's 10 steak fries and 4-5 pieces of ribs. Now mind you, this is an appetizer ordered from the appetizer menu meant to be shared between two adults. Needless to say we were surprised. 4. My husband drinks A LOT of lemonade. Unfortunately, the server in trainer never checked his glass because he was to busy eating. My husband looked up constantly attempting to capture anyone's attention to get a refill and that's when he noticed the server in training on break. The trainer finally came and provided a refill but that was the only time and remember he drinks A LOT. 5. Our food finally arrived and while I was quite pleased my husband was not impressed. He ordered the pull pork and perhaps because it's in the evening he was given the last of it because it was sooooooo dry. He attempted to eat it after requesting some BBQ sauce (which was not already on the side but if you ask me should be) but this didn't help. 6. After about 10 minutes and we were finished with our sides, I grabbed two to-go containers from the server section. The trainer never came to check on us but instead after seeing our food put away came by with a plastic bag to hold our containers. It was nice gesture but we were pretty much over this experience. 7. My husband informed the trainer that the pork was very dry and she mentioned going to grab her manager. The manager did not come and instead just took the meal off. The fact that the manager did not greet us to determine how our experience was confirmed what I knew: they knew we had not received the great service they generally provide. All in all, while I remember the servers' names, I am choosing not to share them because the trainer did have a good personality just not very attentive and believe she should be given the opportunity to provide great service to the next round of patrons. I can't even tell you how many times I have ate inside and dinned out at this place! I love it so much. My entire family loves it here. We have celebrated graduations, birthdays and just because meals here. So many great memories we even noticed owners changed recently but they still do it the original way and we love that the most! I prob get this atleast 1x a week if it's not a chicken bbq meal with a side of corn and baked potato's butter sour cream and cheese or loaded sweet potato it's a grilled chicken salad or I'll get both depending on how I'm feeling or how hungry I am. But I highly recommend if you are wanting some good southern style food right in the heart of downtown St. Charlie! Pretty consistent with the taste and presentation of the food. Boneless chicken appetizer and fried pickles are always great. Ribeye steaks are much better than other chains. Rolls and honey butter melts in your mouth. Alcohol beverages that I have tried are pretty good as well. read more

Their food is always excellent, service has always been good, and with call ahead seating never wait that long even when they are generally packed. A great value for the price. Well we are at least 2 times a month customers here!! I should say WAS- before my reviews at this location included great service, consistently delicious steaks and salads but they did a Big NO NO - in the customer service / restaurant business!! If I'm overreacting please tell me : I don't usually send food back, especially steaks but on this night - my birthday by the way lol - my steak had to be sent back 3 times yep and two different managers brought it out after we didn't see our waitress after our food was delivered the first time and this entire process lasted about 30 minutes and my husband and grandson finished their food and I sit very disappointed at the process ! Finally ate my steak and we paid full price for this experience and one apology just doesn't do it for me!! Someone should have offered us something off our bill or anything would of kept us happy customers!!! While we love the food, and the portions are large enough to share, some of the waitstaff needs more training. The waitstaff is hit or miss. Sometimes, we have no issues and our drinks are refilled regularly and our orders are correct. Sometimes, we can't find anyone to even do a refill. I have also figured out why parking is horrible at this location. I just watched a bunch of employees park in the lot (not where they are supposed to) and go inside. Texas Roadhouse opens at 3:30pm. We went at 3:45pm and the place was about 60% full. By 4:15pm it was full. They had plenty of servers and they were all hustling to take care of everyone. We had a very pleasant server. We got one of the early special dinners. The food came out quickly, plentiful, and delicious. I have no complaints, in fact I was very impressed with the operation. That just goes to show, what can be done with a planned out restaurant I am tired of hearing other restaurants complaining about Covid and they cannot get workers. Terrible service from both the waitress as well as the manager. I know the location was packed and when we were brought cold food and 1/2 of the order missing we understood. BUT........ the waitress failed time and time again. No offer of refills, never brought the rest of our order out, didn't bring out bags and basically only came back to give us the bill. I don't know why, but I found the fake cactus amusing. I've been to this location twice now and although I poke fun at the faux plants I can't poke fun at the food. The chili is hearty with a good ratio of beans vs. meat. The side salad is better than many with lots of ingredients besides just lettuce. The ribeye I ordered was grilled to a perfect medium with a nice rub helping to create a nice outer crust with a juicy, tender pink center. I generally always have an amazing experience at any Texas Roadhouse location. This location I have been before and also had a good experience. Today my family and I called the location to be on the waitlist. We called twice and did not have any answer. My next instinct was to join the waitlist via the Texas Roadhouse mobile app. The app would only allow me to select MAX 6 people for a table. If it is a party more than 6 they recommend to call, but as I had previously mentioned we did not have anyone from their staff answer our call. Please keep in mind I do realize it was a Saturday night and dinner time is always busy. We arrive and I check in and make sure to explain the situation to the host named Lyndsey. Lyndsey was very rude and had a bad attitude. She sneezed twice and I said bless you both times, no thank you was given by her. Offered no solutions. Her manager came out and we were able to find a solution quick and easy. I am grateful for the manager of this location. The experience my family and I had from our server and rest of the staff was exceptional. I cannot say the same for the host Lyndsey. I've worked as a waitress before so the unnecessary attitude is unneeded and can make or break a customer's experience. Side note: Food was incredible as always! read more

Only an automatic answering machine picked up. Got to the restaurant at 6:30, and the hostess was extremely rude when she told me they can only accommodate eight and that maybe we should go to a different location. I can't understate how good I think Texas Roadhouse is as a chain & concept. The food is almost always cooked perfectly. A couple can reasonably come in and have a nice meal without adult beverages and escape for under $40. They cook all of the different kinds of steaks you could ever want while keeping some healthier options (bbq chicken, salads, etc.) on the menu and even having a bunch of kid friendly choices. And the service is usually top notch as well. This location is no different than the rest in all those regards. But it is different in that it has a very strange and small parking lot that goes the entire length around the building. Sure, there's additional parking in the retail center to the South and the hotel to the West; but it's tucked up in its own corner and can be difficult to get to from the highway. Pro Tip: If you're further out West, try calling both this location and the O'Fallon location to see which has a smaller wait time and go that direction. And if you do choose this location and haven't been there, make sure to put it into your GPS so as to not end up lost. read more

It wasn't all bad, I am going to Rte food and service. The service by our waitress was excellent. I believe she was new or training, but she did awesomely! Also, I think the manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was ok, which is always a nice touch. Not a major complaint, and I do like to see people having fun, but 2 of the other severs were being playfully rambunctious, and bumped into me while they were passing. I'm glad she wasn't carrying drinks. The food was not my favorite. Everything was drenched in oil. Like everything seemed like a soup. The sautéed mushrooms were so salty I couldn't eat them. The veggies were all mush. Also we got an order to go for my sister's bf, and they didn't include rolls with it, which is ok, but I thought they would have. Tonight was my birthday. The weather hasn't been the best and they have been predicting more bad weather. After checking the online wait on the website, which said zero wait time, my family and I showed up at 705pm this evening on 2-19-19 and were told we would be seated shortly. We had 7 people in our party. We were the ONLY people in the waiting area.. 20 minutes later - we were finally taken to our "table". It was a booth with a table added to it near the main stairs/thorough way. We asked for an actual table. After staring at the 3 hostesses behind the counter for a solid 5 minutes, one of the girls finally asked "have you been helped???" Then I was told that it's a fire hazard to move more than than a 4 top table together. A FIRE HAZARD.... really??!! Never going back!!!! Thanks for the great birthday Texas Roadhouse.
