The 20oz bone in steak I had to send bad. It was well done when I asked for med rare which is still over cooked for me but I've been through it before there . They can't cook a steak right ever. Our waitress was so nice given the high demand for her attention. Loraine was the best waitress we've ever had. We didn't ask for a discount but the manager tried to make it right. Point is steak no bueno- the quality is just not there anymore. My dog ate it though. The place was packed. I questioned if there was more than 287 people in there. Super loud. Reina and the host team were very disorganized and failed to inform our party of 6 of the waiting list rules: Rule 1: if you're a walk in- you're prioritized last over call-aheads and reservations. Rule 2: you're NOT informed of your "accurate" wait time and are left to guess if you're getting sat or not. (Every 20 minutes we kept asking for updates, every 20 minutes, nothing!) Rule 3: if you're disabled, you must wait longer. (We had asked for accommodations which I'm sure bumped us further down the list, ahem, ABLEISM) If large party walk-ins are running an hour wait, just tell us! We understand that. Went with my daughter while in Tracy so decided to try it. So waitress was very friendly and made us laugh. We tried the appetizer for what looked like the blooming onion. Forget the name of it but my daughter wasn't impressed but I liked it. Seems like the onions are crunchy along with the breaded crunchiness. I had a chicken sandwich and it was really good. It was so big I could only finish half. Their house salad was fresh. I liked their thousand island dressing as well. So my daughter on feted the steak and she said compared to her favorite from Outback, this steak was more flavorful and tender so that was a win! For years the Roadhouse has been a special treat to ourselves. Years ago staff had explained the process of ordering the amazing beef served. Our last visit was very disappointing in the area of the meat we ordered. Our sirloin was heavily salted and did not resemble the sirloin taste we loved. This time the special delicious baked potatoes had also been overly salted. The side salads were delicious, plentiful and filled with vegetables,egg and cheese. The special rolls had changed tastes but were good. As always, the service is excellent. Our server was knowledgeable, patient and accommodating! We were also seated in the special area we preferred. We are not in the neighborhood so we do travel for a while. It is with sadness that we will have to drop the Roadhouse from our restaurant list. read more

You can call ahead and let them know what time you will be there and they will give you a confirm # to give to the host, It speeds up the seating process a bit. Come hungry because you will wish you could eat more. I ordered the 5oz salmon and added shrimp to it. For my sides got a loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. Their shrimp is the best shrimp I have ever had, so much flavor. They put this lemon butter sauce on it and it is amazing! I could eat them every day. The loaded baked potato is a must, they fill to with sour cream, butter, cheese, chives and bacon.. sooo yummy. Great food though it can be a bit on the salty side. The customer service was poor, which is disappointing because it's a key part of dining in restaurants. Our first server seemed great, greeted us with a smile and introduced herself to my wife and I. Unfortunately that server ended up leaving for the day (right after we ordered our drinks and appetizer) and handed us off to another server who from the get go was not very cordial. It almost felt like we were an inconvenience. For context, we saw her twice during our meal - once to take our order and once to casually ask how the food was as she dropped off my shrimp (arrived late from the main meal btw). She did not check up on us after that. My wife wanted to order more wine, and when we were finished with our meal we wanted to get to go boxes. Because of the absentee sever, we gave up on the former and I went looking for another server for the latter. I even tried to flag our server at one point, but I guess she didn't see me. She managed to say goodnight to us while we were packing our leftovers and had already paid. With all that being said, I still left a decent tip as I come from a serving background. It is my belief that handing off customers to a new server spells a recipe for disaster as this is not the first time I've experienced this exact scenario with the same results. Completely disorganized, poor customer service. My fiancé and I arrived at 7:40 PM. When we arrived we were given a quote time of 15 to 30 minutes; our text for confirmation did say 30 minutes. 8:00, again we asked if a table was almost ready because multiple large parties had gone ahead of us. The two young hostesses at the front told us not to worry we're next on the list and another 10 to 15 minutes. Again at 8:10 I ask them if there is a table ready if not then we can take our name off the list. They tell us to go inside because we are going to be shown to our table next. We stepped through the front doors and have another three parties in front of us. It was now 8:20pm. At this point we were both confused because a party of 5 walk in after us & are seated immediately along with all the other parties of families those if which arrived after us. It was past 8:25pm when I had asked to speak with a manager because I noticed a few things: We had now waited over 45 minutes Parties who joined the "wait list" after us had gone ahead of us & seated already. Kurtis is the manager who I spoke with. He laughed at myself & my fiancé whilst I explained that we had waited over 40 minutes now. All his answer to our distress was a shrug of his shoulders & continues laughing with the hosting staff that were all talking amongst themselves laughing with their back turned to the customers. I asked him again that as a manager, if there is nothing he can do to help when our experience that had gone completely downhill because of his staff/management. He gave us a small card for a voucher of a free appetizer. I asked him for his district manager's contact... I was told this number is direct to the said manager. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get in contact with anyone and am constantly getting sent to a voicemail. Luckily enough that night; Cattlemen's sat us within 15 minutes 20 minutes prior to scheduled closing time. The food was great as usual... for some odd reason i always get back pain when i have alcohol there. If i don't have alcohol I'm fine but it's just at Texas i always get it. Staff is friendly and when there's an issue Texas is always on it to fix it. If anything is off i know the staff is timing each minute to help each customer out. We had a spent a few days at the Wolf Lodge and wanted to stop in the way home for a great dinner. I checked in online and was quoted a 30 min wait. We parked and walked in at the 30 min mark and was seated within 2 minutes. We had an amazing server named Jesse. She checked in every little bit, was quick and friendly. We had an appetizer, onion blossom, prime rib, steak and shrimp with a side of ribs and a cheeseburger meal. Mom and dad and 10 yr old. The food continued to arrive in a timely manner with a few moments between each course...appetizer, then salads and finally our meals. Too stuffed to have desserts but have leftovers for tonight. All I have to say is REWARD PREDICTION ERROR. I've had good experiences in other locations such as Union Landing. But I was really disappointed when I brought my family for a celebratory meal and got burnt meat. The burgers, and even the ribs which were cold AND burnt. The waitress, who was wonderful to us, could sense my shift in mood and really did her best to be attentive on such a busy night with graduations and the dinner rush. Luckily, I was drinking so I didn't complain. The highlight of the night was not only my drinks but that the waitress seen my aversion to the food and asked, "it's better than apple bees, right?!"
