So I was plotting on this place all day. I was doing a little bit of Christmas Shopping with my mother and on the way to the all I saw a sign for Texas Roadhouse. I KNEW that was stopping here on the way back and no one was stopping me. So upon arrival everyone was nice. I was greeted by at least five people. I don't know if you know but.... I love a greeting, I love great customer service. You have only seven seconds to make a first impression with me. They asked me if I wanted to pick out my own steak, but I wasn't sure so I just went to my seat. My waitress name was Raevenna and she was amazing! She was pretty, sweet, and gave the BEST service. She even had a cute pair of glasses and her hair was cute too. I am not saying that if my waitress wasn't pretty I wouldn't have good service but what I am saying is that she was a package deal. Funny but my mother steak was better than mine so I ate all of hers and promised myself that I was going to go to outback the next day and order the Rib Eye Steak . TR is good for what it is - dependable chain restaurant with family oriented dining options and standardized menus to choose from. I think people are comforted by uniformity of presentation and appearance. It's the whole concept of chain dining the same everywhere; always a food safe zone. In terms of high quality, its "eh". For example, once you get through the initial peanuts and gooey sweet cinnamon sugar rolls, every side dish I've had here (aside from salad) is overly salted. Salt brings out flavor, but when the vegetables are mushy, over cooked and over salted, it's just yucky. Even the steak fries are little sodium bombs. There's plenty that's good here- price isn't bad, service is quick, your kids will be happy, and the waitresses really hustle. You can't argue with their success and business model because there is a line out the door most nights. But for a really good steak, head elsewhere. read more

This place isn't bad, but it could be a lot better. Mr. X and I used to frequent this Texas Roadhouse fairly frequently, but the quality of the service seems to have gone down in recent years. I'm not saying this is true of all the Texas Roadhouse restaurants however, as this is really the only one we frequent. Upon entering and approaching the host stand, you get a distinct feeling of being very rushed, as the host quickly recites an obviously programmed directive while taking you to your seat. "Been here before?" I think I heard her say over her shoulder in an effort barely heard over the blaring C&W music. "Yes, I responded. Many times." Mr. X and I were still scooting our generous posteriors into the booth as she's tossing menus at us and asking for our app orders. I told her we will need a few minutes as we obviously haven't even picked up the menus yet. We placed an order for some iced teas to drink. They have great iced tea by the way. While looking over the menus, we wolfed down the fresh baked rolls and honey butter they serve when seating you. This shit is like CRACK and I'm not even kidding. It's by far the one and only most amazing thing about Texas Roadhouse. OMFG! Our 4 rolls were gone in about 2 minutes. The officials at the big TR office complex must sit around laughing with each other about how this one free food item they serve is probably 99% of the reason folks return. Genius. The next sign of trouble was when we both ordered chili for our apps. Our server told us it came with cheese on top, but neglected to tell us it was covered in chopped onion also, which Mr. X hates. Secondly, I asked us for extra crackers for both of our chilis, but Mr. X received only one package total, and I got three. By the way, it came with PLASTIC SPOON UTENSILS. YES, THAT'S RIGHT-- PLASTIC SPOONS. Still, it's still good hot chili though, once you get past all the serving mishaps. Mr. X and I both ordered the boneless Ribeye steaks, and they were juicy and cooked perfectly. I had no issue with my food at all, it's almost always very good, but this time Mr. X had an issue with his steak fries. They were cold on arriving, with the cheese still room temp and not melty at all. We usually love the steak fries, but this time they failed. We flagged down our server who said she would replace them. A minute or so minutes later she returned to say that new fries were on the way, but alas they never came. We were finished our meal anyway, so we just let it go. I shared my baked potato with Mr. X and we were good to go, but that was just a very easily fixable thing, causing yet another glitch in the service that dropped my review down a star. Our server returned a bit later (with zero apology for the MIA fries) with our bill pre-printed in her hand, which I despise. As she clutched it to her chest as if it were a Rosary, she asked if we wanted any dessert. I assume that most customers say "no thanks", and in that case she's home free on the effort, as now all she had to do was slap the bill down for us, which she did, right into a big puddle of iced tea glass condensation. But I had a surprise for her! A $20 gift card! So back to the register she had to go, returning a few minutes later with the revised bill which was also slapped down into the same wet slop on the table. The entire TR experience is always lackluster. Not particularly terrible, but just really bland. You do not get that same feeling at Outback or Longhorn, their main competitors. I don't like feeling rushed through a restaurant visit, especially when it was after 8:30 on a weeknight evening and the restaurant had zero wait time. The pre-programmed feel of the server's speech is a bit weird also-- it's very much like being served by robots. I know that's a bit of a stretch, but that vibe is definitely there. As I said before, in general the food is very good and the steaks are great. We will go back, but come on TR, you can do better. Restaurants need to know that if the service is outstanding, in many cases you can feed customers cut up car tires and they'll still be happy. But when service lacks, the best food in the world won't get a customer to return. read more

There was nothing special about this experience, the wait was long and we were certainly starving by the time we sat down to dinner. Our waitress was good, she was attentive and got our orders correct but didn't go beyond the necessary in terms of friendly chatter. The rolls, as always, we fantastic and probably the best part of the meal. The food was in no way bad, just par and a little pricey for par. Let me start by saying YES I know it's a Steakhouse, well the picture made me decided to go ahead and get the full rack of ribs. Wow, they were so burnt, I mean actually Black burnt and very dryer out, so when our server finally came back to check on us. By then my wife almost finished her meal, I said something him, he went ahead and took the brunt ribs and left me the potato, So when he brought back my order it was a lot smaller than what he took from me and it was just as burnt and dried out as the original batch I think all they did is break off a couple of ribs and rearrange them on a plate and bring it back to me 15 to 20 minutes later. they sucked, burnt and dried out. read more

Quite literally the rudest service I have ever encountered. I work in customer service and I am pretty lenient on the staff since I know it can be stressful and difficult at times. I would never treat a customer the way my table was treated tonight. The waitress was friendly. I believe it was a manger who delivered such poor quality service. My party had come from out of state looking to have a nice dinner before sending my brother off to college and it was completely ruined. Let it be known that everyone in my party was over 21 and had a valid ID. One person in our party who was 21 had a vertical ID and was denied liquor services, which was totally fine. We absolutely understood and did not give the waitress a hard time--that person just didn't order a drink. The rest of my party did however, and the 21 year old had simply taken a sip of my drink to try it. Immediately after we paid the bill the manager ran over and swiped MY drink with not a word and did not allow a refund. Understandably we were confused. The manager's response to our questions was nasty and uncalled for. There was no problem with the fact that the vertical ID was not accepted, we understand this was not a personal attack on our party, but an employee should know how to properly explain an unusual policy to out-of-state customers when dealing with situations like this--especially a manager. Instead he publicly embarrassed us and treated us like we were children trying to illegally purchase drinks. We were very uncomfortable for the remainder of dinner and left early. read more

We've eaten at this restaurant many times and the food is always well prepared. Never concerned the steak you ordered will come out cooked to the wrong temperature. Tonight was no different my wife's prime rib and my porterhouse arrived at the table perfectly cooked. But what really made our evening was the waitress. Jess was awesome, she fully embraced the Christmas season wearing antlers and makeup to appear as Rudolph . Her bubbly personality and attentiveness to all tables in her section was refreshing. She's witty, bright, and cheerful; truly a joy to have as a server. The rest of the staff as always was polite, friendly, and professional. This place isn't bad BUT the whole chain system is the problem....... yes this is in fact a steakhouse but there is little to no vegetarian/vegan options. Which is very disappointing. I would love to see at least a full greens salad with spinach and fancy stuff. We have been to this Roadhouse many times and usually it does not disappoint. However, tonight was a special occasion, my husband's birthday. I chose this place because they usually make great steaks and service is good. But tonight, when we expected a special night, they dropped the ball - big time. I ordered a sweet potato with marshmallows. I received a regular baked potato with nothing on it. Our waitress did not return to see if everything was ok, but after a while a manger came to the table. She identified the mistake and went into the kitchen to get the sweet potato. However, she did not return until we had both finished our meals. My salad had been removed and we had no bread. I had nothing to eat except steak. I also told both the hostess and the waitress that we were celebrating a birthday. There was no recognition by the staff of any birthday. We were not asked if we wanted to order dessert, we were just given instructions on how to pay via the screen at the table. The bread and butter are fantastic. We ate them up, but then one of us wanted more so she asked for a few more. Instead of a few more, the waitress (Amber) brought out two huge baskets. If you come here for one thing and one thing only, it better be for the rolls! They are hot, buttery, doughy perfection. Pair it with the cinnamon butter and you're in heaven! Texas Roadhouse is your run of the mill steakhouse-- a step above Outback and reminds you of a good ole home cooking. The steaks are tasty and cooked just how you like it. They never mess up my medium rare ribeye. The sides are great, especially loaded baked or mashed potatoes and green beans. The salad is fresh, too. The service can be hit or miss, though. Last time we had a server who was clearly swamped with no assistance, and this time we had a server who was just slow. However, that doesn't hold us from coming back. Our family loves Texas Roadhouse. The wait staff are really wonderful. A few of our favorites is Julia, Ashley and Inez! Food is always fresh and served hot and the wait if there is one, goes relatively fast! We frequent there a lot and if you love sweet baked potatoes you have to try theirs fully loaded! So delicious! As far as bar drinks, you've got to try the Kenny's Cooler which is made using Kenny Chesney's, Blue Chair Bay rum. It's reallllly delicious! The bread and butter is the absolute best and I really shouldn't be eating this darn bread! It is soooo good though. Our waitress Lisa was really good! We wanted to support a restaurant during the coronavirus pandemic, and choose Texas Roadhouse because we heard the CEO was so generous to give up his salary to keep employees working through this difficult time. I must say that they have an excellent system in place to keep employees and patrons safe. We were served promptly in our vehicle, and the employees providing drive through service were the most upbeat people I've seen since the pandemic began. The food was no less than perfect and I will continue supporting Texas Roadhouse through their time of need.
