I chose this place based on the good reviews, but unfortunately my experience was completely different. I ordered the seafood Tom Yum. I was handed a takeout container and a spoon and told they don't serve food for dining in. When I opened it at work, it was immediately clear that this was nothing like any Tom Yum I've ever had. It tasted like a basic vegetable broth, mostly filled with spinach, tomatoes, and a lot of mushrooms. The "seafood" consisted of some tilapia, a couple of unpleasant frozen shrimp, one mussel, and a crab stick. The soup had none of the distinctive flavor I expect from Tom Yum and was simply not enjoyable to eat. For $25, I honestly don't understand what I paid for. This was one of the most disappointing Thai food experiences I've had, and I definitely won't be coming back. Update: The owner clarified that the fish was swai rather than tilapia and the greens were basil rather than spinach, so I'm happy to correct those details. I also forgot to mention the squid rings, which still had a tough membrane on them that pulled away while chewing -- probably the most unpleasant part of the meal. Unfortunately, none of these clarifications change my overall experience. Whatever the recipe was, the soup tasted nothing like the Tom Yum I know and enjoy. read more

Easily the best Thai food I've had in the Whittier area! My favorites are the orange chicken, shrimp rolls, and spicy fried rice with chicken. For the rice, I go with spice level 3 which is definitely spicy but still super flavorful and enjoyable without overpowering the dish. Their Thai Iced Tea is amazing too! Recently came in and was welcomed in by an incredibly kind and warm woman. Later to find out, she's the owner and the only one who really runs the entire restaurant alone (aside from the help of her husband and son). I had quite the feast, grabbing a few various items just to try things and the flavor was great! A few that really shined for me were their Tom Khah soup, Orange Chicken, Pad Thai (standard favorite), and the Mango Sticky Rice. I will say, it is a very small space with only 2 tables so I would imagine most people grab the food to go. This is a spot I'd recommend for simple, straight forward Thai food! read more

Been here multiple times, by far the BEST thai food ive had in the area and surrounding area, i love everything ive tried here, i really enjoy the spicy tom yum soup very citrusy! but my go to is the spicy basil combination plate (chicken, beef,shrimp) it never fails to make my day, its PACKED with flavor, a real10/10. I ordered the pad see ew to-go. My food was ready on time and the lady in the store was friendly. Price was consistent to other stores in the area. Overall, I liked it. The pad see ew had less of a soy sauce taste than other places and at first I thought it was slightly underwhelming but it got better as I ate it since other pad see ew's can get a little heavy as you keep eating it. This place is amazing!! I was looking for a new Thai place and was recommended to go here. When my gf and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by the very friendly owners. After a quick meet & greet, we ordered and they even asked how spicy we wanted our food, told them medium. We got to watch them make the food and everything was made to order and tasted fresh. The dishes we ordered were Shrimp Tom Kha Soup which was really rich and creamy, Chicken Pad Thai that was super delicious, Crispy Pork Basil which was extraordinary, it had a really good crunch and flavor combination, and we also got Sticky Rice Mango for dessert which was perfectly sweet. Checked out this new Thai spot in Whittier. Located in a small strip between a dry cleaner and donut shop lies this hidden gem. As you enter the establishment you will be notice how clean it is. You'll be welcomed by the owners. The owner/cook is Thai and is super nice. What I like is that you can see the food being cooked while you wait. If there is Thai dish not on the menu she will most likely try to make it for you! They currently do not do dine in so take it to go and eat in your car.... If you can't wait because that's what we did. Can't go wrong with the pad thai and pad see ew (we ordered it a little spicy which has pretty good!) I've been seeing this spot for about a month and this Labor Day, I finally decided to try it. I called and placed my order. The gentleman was polite and said about 10-15 minutes. Upon arrival, he asked me to wait about one minute which gave me an opportunity to review the appearance of this fairly new Spicy Bite Thai Kitchen. The cook behind him, appeared passionately about her cooking of authentic Thai recipes. I ordered the Pad Thai Noodles and the Spicy Noodles with chicken. When asked about the level of spiciness, scale of 1-5. My son-in-law's bravery asked for a 4. He needed to grab a glass of cold milk to alleviate his enchilado sensation. Brought it home, and food was so fresh, still hot, delicious and generous amounts of seafood and chicken. The Thai ice teas were a bit sweet but as the ice melted, it balanced out. My husband and I wanted to try something new and stumbled upon Spicy Bite Thai Kitchen. It's hidden so I imagine business might be a bit slow, but hopefully as reviews come in more people will visit. The food is delicious and packed with flavor. We ordered the Tom Yum soup with shrimp, which was deliciously packed with flavor, not too spicy. We also ordered the shrimp fried rice and garlic and pepper shrimp. Both dishes were cooked fresh and absolutely delicious. We ordered an appetizer but didn't try it because we got full lol. The cherry on top was the sweet cook who came to see how we liked the food. You could see she took pride in her food. Wonderful service and delicious food!
