I have nothing but great things to say! We have drove by this place for years and finally had the time to stop by for the first time. As a Thai food lover I can safely say this is probably the BEST authentic thai cuisine you can have in the greater Austin area. We ordered the crab fried rice, Kao Soi, chicken wings, and sticky rice w/mango. Each dish held so many great elements that complimented each other, from the savory fried rice to the richness of the kao soi, to the spice. Chicken wings were INCREDIBLY CRISPY and juicy. At a level 4 "very spicy" the heat was definitely there, but the flavors of the dish overpower the heat factor making the dish absolutely flavorful and delicious. The staff was amazingly sweet and accommodating, quietly checking on us frequently without interrupting our conversation which I loved. Needless to say, I left and I've been in a food coma for about 2 hours now, left completely satisfied. We'll definitely be back in a few days! Highly highly recommended!!!! read more

Returning for my second visit. The service is at times not up to what I would like but if you get past that the food is great. My first visit was Panang. It was tasty and good. All of my families dishes came out hot and flavorful. The owner is Thai, and the cooks are Thai. For anyone who tried before and didn't like, please try again. This is a place you will want to succeed, not many places in North Austin to get some real authenticate Thai food. Good Food Quality Adquete Variety but not overwhelming Unique Thai dishes you can not get anywhere else (American Fried Rice made my wife feel like a kid again). This place has awesome food. Masaman Curry, Thai Fried Rice, and Pad Thai are my favorites. Taste just as good the next day leftover, too. The Thai Tea is also fabulous and in a large mug (when I make it at home I use less sweetener, but it is your typical Thai sweet). Their patio is nice. Casual dining and a little cramped, but you can always get take-out. The tables are a bit small if you plan to spread three dishes out and share with a large group, however; the food makes it totally worth the lost elbow space. As with most Thai places, serving portions only go so far. I've got four kids, so if you plan to split for a larger family, extra fried rice will be necessary. Met friends who lived a year in Thailand, and it was first time for all of us to eat here. Friendly and efficient service although it appeared one server had all 10-12 tables to manage. We ordered 4 dishes -- 2 off noodles section and 2 off rice section. Also the brussel sprout appetizer. Generous servings meant we took home lunch for the next day. All of it was good and our friends said as authentic as you will find around here. We asked for medium spicy and I would have liked a bit more heat. No too bad, but still have not found " the Thai place" in Austin. We started with the chicken satay, very good - I wish it had more sauce to dip. The cucumber salad was nice that came with it. I had the Kee Mao with beef, good - but ordered the hottest spice level and it was very mild. Not true Thai spice for sure. I once did this at a place in Houston and my mouth was on fire. Was looking for a good Thai food place since coming from Cali I feel spoiled by the Thai food there . I found this place and decided to give it a try . Wow!! Finally found my new Thai spot in Austin . The Good: Shrimp spring rolls were pretty good here. I've never had a spring roll with pineapple before. I'm not a huge pineapple fan but this combination worked! The Okay: We had the Pad Thai and Yellow Curry (what we usually order at Thai restaurants). Both were okay, maybe a little better than okay. The Pad Thai was average but cooked well and the Yellow Curry was a little better than average. It was full with flavor but was lacking on beef. Think I got a total of 4 slices, maybe 5. Driven by this place a few times, and love some Thai food, so we tried them out. Place was empty around 530-6pm, ordered some wings, tom kha, and pot stickers. All in all, food was descent, nothing special when it comes to Thai food, the basics and a little bit more, would probably stop in again for an affordable lunch or dinner to go, dining room is a little small. First time eating at Thai Lada. There were three of us. At first we were seated near a table with a very exuberant child ;) After a couple of minutes, our astute waitress asked if we would like another table, which we appreciatively accepted. Then we proceeded to order a lot of food -- I always enjoy having leftovers! The chicken satay, crab rangoon and steamed dumplings were all very tasty. We also ordered some Tom Yum Goong (soup). It was fresh and the shrimp perfectly cooked. For entree's we had: Crab Fried Rice, which was perfect - lots of crab, tasty and rice was perfect. We also ordered Khao Mun Gai - the chicken thighs were tender, the rice and ginger sauce great. Plus, the Pad See Ew was tasty and nicely seasoned. Oh yeah! And we ordered Beef Larb. It was very good as well! Great friendly service too. Not much on ambiance inside, but the outdoor patio looks great for nicer weather. Highly recommend! We will be back or ordering takeout for sure! The most authentic Thai food in the North Austin burbs. We've been there 3 times in the past 2 months and each time the food was outstanding. The prices are modest and the servings are well above average. $40 will feed a family of 4. We usually spend about in the $50's just to have leftovers to take home. I was really hoping for a better experience, since this place is so close to work, but sadly, it looks like I'll have to find another place. I started off with the Chicken Satay, which was pretty good, if not a tad greasy. The peanut sauce was good, but better in moderation, or it'll overpower the chicken easily. I had the Pad Thai as my main dish, and opted for tofu since I already had some chicken. Beef was $1 extra :(. The dish looked pretty, just like the satay, but didn't taste as good. It was rather bland. Maybe it was because I got tofu and I'm used to the meat flavoring the rest of the dish. Or not. Service was okay, but a bit slow. I needed a whole hour for lunch, despite the drive being just 7 minutes and myself being a rather fast eater. The restaurant does look nice and clean though. It's a quiet place, I like the view as the sky turns a shade of orange close to sunset. As people drive by on the streets, I don't really hear the cars outside, and the places feels not too big, and not too small. So it's a pretty good place if you just want to relax with a book. The food is good but service has been lacking lately. I stopped by this place about a week ago for their mango rice and one of the guys said they were out of it and they only sell it when it is in season. I was thinking okay well I had it a couple of months ago so I guess the season has passed. Well this eve I order food to pickup and I see they have the mango rice on their menu so I order it and sort of expected them to call and tell me that they were out of that... turns out they did have it so I guess we are back in season since a week ago. Yeah right.... They also screwed up my order and did not put all the food I ordered in the bag they gave me when I picked up my order. This is my second dining experience here and the service is just amazing ! The food is delicious to , I am a new vegan and it's one of the few places near my work thay accommodates my diet. I will have to say the customer service is out of this world, very kind staff. I forgot my wallet and realized I only had enough money for my soup. When the cook was given instructions by the waitress to stop my fried tofu the cook told me to please still eat and I can always come back another time if I likke to pay it back! Decent Thai restaurant seems to be run by Korean management. Ice tea was good, Iced coffee was not that good. Definitely recommend spring rolls (not deep fried). Thai food is sooo addicting! It's probably because their food is sweet, savory, and spicy. Today I tried the pad Thai with tofu. It was to die for. I also had the chicken satay for appetizer. That was also very delicious. The satay came with a side of peanut dipping sauce sand I was also given a side of cucumber salad for my tiny but mighty egg roll. The flavor of the food was great, but the noodles were mushy. I've had drunken noodles at several different restaurants and I've never had the mushy noodles before.
