Very friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere. On 2 occasions we got drunken noodles with shrimp added, crispy garlic shrimp plate, garlic ahi (tuna) plate. I came back for drunken noodles. Crispy garlic shrimp are very good per my husband review. Garlic Ahi not so much, even my husband that likes fish was not fan of it. I guess no more fried ahi for us. This place was excellent. It's in a place a little back from the road, so you might not find it at first, but it has so many food trucks. Thai Mee Up is the best; thee portions and flavors are excellent. There are many places to sit either close to the food trucks or a little farther away, and it's a nice escape from the loudness of everything; there's also often live music. The only downside is it is often slow because of the number of people choosing that food truck. Overall, it is a must-try! read more

There is always a line here. I came here 3 nights in a row and I always waited in a bit of a line. That's how you KNOW it's great food! Dare I say, this was THE BEST curry I've had in my years and years and years of ordering curry. I also tried the pad thai which ranked high up on my list as well! Parking around here isn't easy, but be patient and you'll catch someone walking to their "barcode" rental car. Truly incredible Thai food in the heart of The Triangle! Amazing food! Hands down our favorite spot to eat when in Maui! We reached out to have them cater my daughter's wedding, and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing! We are in town on vacation and spent a long day on the Road to Hana. We were hungry for good food after a long day. We all like Thai food and this food truck seemed like the best choice!! And we were NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. Both families like Thai food and have had take out several times. I and my son-in-law ordered Drunken Noodles with chicken, my wife had Pad Thai, and my step daughter had the Curry and Rice. Each and everyone's exclaimed over the flavor. The Tofu Curry was rated the coveted "Best Thai Curry Ever" by my stepdaughter. She said the Tofu melted in her mouth!! My wife loved her Pad Thai, and both my son-in-law and I loved our Drunken Noodles! They were a bit hot for him, but he ate the whole thing! I found the heat perfect! The food was delivered quickly by the food truck and was still piping hot when we got back to our hotel. Both employees we interacted with were pleasant and friendly . This was our second time in Maui and we knew had to come back for the drunken noodles. We attempted to eat here 4x during our visit, but only got to eat here 3x lol. Our order at the Kahului location: -Lemongrass fried chicken 8/10- comes with papaya salad and white rice. I thought this was going to be bone-in chicken. It wasn't. But it was still very good. -Drunken noodles with scallop 10/10- BOMB. We will order drunken noodles every time. I didn't know scallop was an option. It might not be on the menu. Doesn't hurt to ask if they're serving them that day. -Pad Thai with chicken 10/10- if you like pad Thai, get it. We were thrilled to stumble upon their new Kihei location! -no set hours established; call ahead Our order at the Kihei location: -Green curry with ahi 10/10- suggested by the owner Tom who was working the kitchen; we also ordered green curry with shrimp the next day, if that tells you anything about their curry :) -Crispy shrimp 8/10- this was well seasoned for fried shrimp, but I personally prefer how they cook shrimp to add onto their other menu items such as curry or noodle dishes. -Pad Thai with shrimp- our third (maybe fourth?) time ordering their pad Thai? Nuff said. They ran out of fresh rice noodles for the drunken noodles. We asked if they could substitute with pad Thai noodles but season the same way as their drunken noodles, but they weren't able to. We were told it had something to do with the way the noodles are cooked. Apparently the pad Thai noodles can be cooked with curry though. The owner, Tom, made us green curry cooked with pad Thai noodles WITH shrimp for us to snack on while we waited for our order. It was SO good and SO fresh. Thank you so much, Tom! I thought I'd awakened back on the mainland with these prices. When I purchased an entree (Panang curry) AND a Thai iced coffee, left a reasonable tip and still only walked away $20 lighter, I was apprehensive about the food. No need - it was delicious and generous, and the coffee was large. South Maui Gardens is a fun, festival type setting. The service was friendly and prompt. Understand that this is a food truck, although there is seating right there. But, because we were eating on the table out front, the entrees were served in china ware, not paper. Sweet baby Jesus! The Thai food here is something we have talked about for 2 years since we first tried it on a trip to the island in '21! We made sure we hit this truck up the minute our plane landed. Then later in the week we cancelled a reservation we had made 6 mo earlier for a "5 star dinner" because we simple had to have that amazing Panang Curry again and as I write this and we pack up to leave the island we can't stop talking about how we are leaving the hotel to get one more fix! The Panang curry is the best we have ever had and our only disappointment is that we have to fly 11 hours to get it! If I could figure out how to franchise this truck on the east coast in exchange for the recipe, I would be all in! The other dishes we have tried have all been amazing but our heart is with the Panang Curry! Trust me! Do not eat at the overhyped and underwhelming resort restaurants. Been wanting to get their scallop special but never able to because they usually sell out or I'm not in the right town.
