Maybe some folks aren't too familiar with traditional Thai food and are used to the sugary American version, or else their ratings are based on petty criteria, but this place rocked. I've spend a lot of time in Thailand, and the papaya salad was the best I have had in the mainland USA (one place on the Big Island of Hawaii was better, but barely). I asked for hot, and assured the waitress that I wanted it hot. They did not disappoint! We also had some summer rolls, which were pretty delicious, especially with the hot peanut style sauce they served on the side. The Pad kee mao was stellar, and again was spiced up nice and hot! Lots of nice mixed veggies, fresh noodles, and freshly fried tofu! Give this place a try if you want some authentic spicy Thai food while in central OR! Tried it once and I believe it is worth trying again! It's not a great Thai place but at least it is a Thai place in Redmond Oregon!!! Pad Thai with garlic chili sauce is pretty standard, yet good. They do know how to cook meat to perfection and not kill it and for that I give 5 stars. I was super disappointed with their chicken coconut soup, garlic chili sauce once again helped out. This place is a bit hard to find but so worth it! Best Thai food I've had in a long time!! Very consistent and everything we have tried on the menu so far is amazing! Especially the pineapple fried rice! It's made with yellow curry sauce so it has a very unique flavor and seems to be gluten free! I have a lot of food allergies so finding this place was such a relief! They are good about altering your order to adjust for food allergies and such. Can't say enough good things about this place! Disappointing! I was really craving Thai food. Decided on the pad Thai since it was on special. It was very sweet, no spice at all, no peanuts & the tofu was slimy. I must have been invisible while I was there too because no one came to check on me, no offers to refill my empty Pepsi, no offer of a box for my leftovers & no offers for dessert! I am from southern california, but was in town for a school rotation. I understand that good Thai restaurants should not be expected in such a small town. I also understand finding great Thai food is difficult for me because I spent several months in Thailand. However, setting aside the fact that the food was very disappointing, my tofu curry had a piece of chicken in it!!!! I had red current and he had pineapple curry, mine was on the spicy side and it was wonderful. His was spicy and sweet, it was wonderful place. There are always seats available and that is not due to the food or service which is great. It is in a shopping center near Fred Meyer and out of the way. The waiter is always extremely polite. Very disappointing dinner. Appetizers very skimpy. When we brought it to their attention the chicken satay was the size of a pencil they said that is just the size. They did take it off of the bill. Thai food has finally come to Redmond! YAY! I moved to CO from Portland 3 years ago and my biggest complaint (besides the lack of shopping) is that there wasn't any good Thai food restaurants. I have tried all that Bend had to offer and decided it wasn't worth the 20 minute drive, so every trip to Portland I would eat at any Thai place I came across! So I was very excited when I noticed that there was a new Thai food joint on this side of the mountain and that it was in Redmond, I tried it right away and was completely impressed with the food and the service was great to top it off....although I wouldn't have complained if it was bad since I am just grateful to have it here in town:) I wouldn't say its the absolute best I have ever had, however it is clearly right up there, I have eated there 4 or 5 times and each time it was quick and delicious! I have noticed that there isn't a huge crowd, which I hope changes soon so they stay in business.... SO, eat, eat, eat there so we can help it stick around in this crappy economy!! read more
