Details about recent arson that closed the restaurant
    Wendelin D.

I have written a positive review in the past about how Thai One On is very accommodating about food allergies. I love their food and order take out or delivery a few times a month. In early Feb I went to place an online order and the website said it was too early to place an order. I had placed orders around noon other times. I called them but the mailbox was full. I drove by and saw that they were closed during regular business hours and thought they were permanently closed because of COVID or recent construction that blocks street parking. FInally, the other day, I saw something posted to their front door and pulled over to see. They were victims of arson on Jan 30th and will be closed for a few months. I am so sad about the arson, but so happy that they will be back. It is my favorite local Thai restaurant and I will be counting the days. I wanted to let all of their fans know not to give up on them and amplify their GoFundMe page - https://www.gofundme.com/f/thai-one-on

Great Thai food in the heart of Lake City! In all seriousness, I've always thought of Thai One On as a very solid Thai spot. They do all the basics really well. I finally had the boat noodles and it truly blew my skirt up. I'll be back to have it again. The service is prompt, and it's a clean place overall. I'll be exploring even more of the menu and I'd encourage you to do the same!

Finally dined in here and I'm definitely a fan. The food is better when fresh than when I order take out. It's still good, but food is always the best when eaten right when it is served. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely and has a nice ambience. The lighting and decor makes it fancy. The food itself is good! We order two pad thais from the lunch menu. I was quite surprised that this restaurant serves their lunch menu on the weekends since that is rare for a lot of restaurants. Pad Thais for $8.99 each, and it comes with a side of rice. That is also rare since Pad Thais don't usually come with rice! That's probably because it was from the lunch menu. When our food came, the rice was not actually included, but we had to ask. I think they didn't actually forget it, but don't usually get it unless someone ask. The Pad Thai wasn't that bad, I've had better, but it came with a lot. It was very filling and there were plenty to take home, especially since rice is also filling. The Pad Thai was a little sweeter than I would like and wish it was a little more spicer even though I order 3 out of 5 stars.

First time going to Thai One On and most likely not going back. I usually test for quality by ordering a simple dish Pad Thai. If you can't get that right then I am skeptical about the rest. I received my order with what looked like burnt noodles, tofu, carrots and peanuts. The only reason I finished it is because I was starving and did not have time to go back and return it. It tasted like a light BBQ pad Thai. Thats how burnt or old the oil or noodles were. I recommend cleaning the pans before cooking food in it.

Here are the facts: Seattle is replete with Southeast Asian and East Asian influenced cuisine. Go to almost any commercial center and you'll find a Vietnamese, Thai, or Japanese restaurant - if you're lucky, there's an Indian one, too. But I digress. Given the amount of Thai competition, there's a race to be better and more upscale in ambiance. Thai One On (which is an odd name - not so great on the branding) was very high on the tastiness and good/decent on the service in a beautifully decorated restaurant. I don't think the adjacent area does the restaurant justice. Here's why it's great: (1) the pad see ew is not overly garlicy, and not overly sweet, either. It was just right. (2) thai iced tea was great (3) duck curry was medium spice (they don't lower the spice level on this dish except for a yellow curry) and extremely good. The prices are really reasonable, but rice eaters beware (and that's me of course): they charge for white rice (1.50) and brown rice (3.00). A nice touch on the ambiance was the goldfish pond and the temple-like decor.

Seafood salad. So good but SO little! A little more greens would be nice for the price!

Decent food, the Pad Thai was just a bit bland, but I'll go back and try a different dish.

I'm not a huge fan of Thai food, so take my 3-stars with a grain of salt. It's adequate food in semi-nice atmosphere.

And this goes on for 5hrs. We live on 33rd, and every time they have a concert, they not only play for the Bar, but they play to the entire community!!! I Love Music!! But I can't love This Music! Most of the bands are bad, but the ones that are good are still ruined by how loud they choose to play the music! It's one thing to listen to good music, but it's a totally different animal to have a Car sitting outside your house blasting Ghetto Punk Rock. (Wouldn't even matter if the music was good! If we didn't pay for it, why should we be forced to listen to it in our own house!!) We shouldn't have to struggle trying to listen to and watch our tv without subtitles, and not being able to do so because the Bar 3 blocks away has decided to hold a Concert for their small venue like a stadium!! And what's funny is that You Guys called 911 about them too. (You told us) When you live 3 blocks away from a bar and it sounds like you're in the front row, there's something wrong there. Why should an entire community pay for your lack of effort in your Sound Department? Seems to me that it's You guys who should curb your sound rather than expecting the entire community to curb our routines in our own homes....just saying. I know, I sound like a Karen. And Maybe I am, but in this instance, we pay too much to live in a home that sounds like we live above a dive bar who take payment from a small handful of people at the Cost of an entire Community. Not very busy when I went at happy hour/dinner time on a Friday night, but the place is busier later at night on Friday/Saturday during the warmer months. Sometimes they have events and DJs. Sat at the bar and tried out some happy hour specials. Got the Korean sauce wings ($12) and cheese truffle fries ($8). Decent amount of fries, definitely has cheese flavor but not that much truffle oil aroma. I liked the wings which you get 6 per order. They weren't fried, but rather tender and juicy. Sauce was agreeable. Definitely enough food for my dinner. As for the drinks, I got the rosemary mule which is Moscow mule with some rosemary herb. The copper mug they use is good sized. Tasted refreshing although could feel the alcohol afterwards. Also tried a corpse reviver no. 2, which was a little sweet but has a punch. Cocktail prices are not cheap outside of happy hour, in the upper teens. Overall, was glad I tried the place out. Will drop by for happy hour once in a while.
