Yelp tried removing my review for creatively describing my stomach issues I had after eating here so let me try again: DONT GO HERE!!! You're car will get scratched and the owners won't care. And the food is ok at best Came to eat here with a good friend of mine visiting from out of town on December 23 around 6-730 PM. Immediately upon entering the place was crammed with everyone and their mothers waiting to be seated. It was hot, stuffy, and super uncomfortable until we were seated 10 minutes later. Not worth the wait. The food wasn't even that good too. We ordered Pad see ew 2 stars and this stuff was way way too spicy for a 2 star rating. Any other Thai place would give their food a kick with 2 stars but it seemed like the chef carelessly threw spices in there and called it good. If I wanted to have stomach problems after this order than I wouldn't of come here in the first place! Especially the day before Christmas Eve! Both me and my friend were tearing up and sweating not only from the cramped and tiny atmosphere but because of the unneeded spiciness in the dish itself. And now ladies and gentleman for the highlight: My car got scratched in their parking lot and they did NOTHING about it. After eating here I went to get gas across the street and I noticed a scratch on my cars left bumper. The car parked next to me was a beat up 2005 white corolla, it had to have been them. I inspect my car like a hawk because it's a brand new suv and it's my baby. The people didn't even leave a note but I had other plans afterwards so I wasn't able to ask for camera footage until Christmas eve. I had called around 1 PM to a man who told me I could see the camera footage. And when I visited around 7 PM that night the lady who said she was the owner (she's the "business manager" replying to other yelpers) was there. I had to pick my way through the cramped and crowded lobby area to ask the "owner" about my car being scratched and the entire time she seemed like I was a nuisance. She was more focused on trying to get food out and answering pick up orders than letting me explain what happened when I went to their establishment. She totally seemed like she didn't care and that this might of thing might be normal- they have a camera right by their dumpsters and she simply said she couldn't access the footage which I call bs on. I have yet to come here again, pick through the ungodly crowded line just to be sat in a booth explaining my situation over and over again. Overall: Do your stomach and your car a favor and DO NOT COME HERE!! I gave them my name and phone number and haven't heard anything since. Maybe this will remind them?? Let's hope so. read more

This used to be one of my favorite Thai because it tasted so home-made. Did they change the cook? Maybe it's better when you eat in vs to-go. Last two times I had it to go, the chicken stuffed wings seemed less flavorful and fresh, this time, old soggy vegetables in my noodle dish. Great Food, Bad Covid-19 protocols. (UPDATE BELOW) Great food but server and staff not using gloves and masks. Handled my Debit card without hesitation. Had to sanitize it later. Hard to enjoy the food, especially the uncooked vegetables. I threw the uncooked food into the compost. Maybe they will get better. Red Mill has touchless, no entry into shop service. They should do the same. Take payment on-line or phone and put a table for pickup at the door so no one has to go inside, and wear gloves and masks. It is not January. I was so disappointed today. I waited until it opened at 4:30pm. I asked the waiter to suggest me a curry dish and he pointed out the yellow curry . This place is very popular in Ballard so the Hubs and I thought we'd try it out. We ordered the Fried Rice with pork and the Pad See Ew with beef. The veggies in the fried rice are just peas and carrots you get in a bag from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. Bummer. The flavors were good but not great. Also both dishes were heavily spiced even though we asked for "one star." The staff are really nice and friendly though so we wish we had liked it more. I've been eating at Thai Siam for over a decade now, and they never disappoint. I've tried countless Thai restaurants in Seattle, and Thai Siam is my favorite by far. I usually order for takeout, but dining in is always nice too. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and service is always great (and fast!). Some of my favorites from the menu are the angel wings, khao soi, panang nuea, and tom kah gai, but you really can't go wrong. read more

Amazing! I've been frequenting Thai Siam a lot lately. Portions are large, ingredients are fresh and the taste is out of this world. The inside is warm and inviting and always a added bonus when a restaurant in Ballard/Crown Hill area has parking. I would give them five stars but the service on my last visit was lacking, sadly disappointing. I do appreciate them giving back to local charities every year. This place was busy the last time we went in, but overall the food is probably why it gets so packed. I've been going here for years and have never had such great Thai food like this in Seattle. They offer a lot of outstanding items on their menu as well as courteous and polite customer service. I always order their Pork Phad Thai and am always amazed at the flavor and how delicious it is each time I visit. If you're in the Crown Hill/Ballard area and are in the mood for some authentic Thai cuisine, this is the spot. You may have to wait a little because this place fills up fast, but let me tell you, it's worth the wait. I suggest #61, their crab rangoons, their soups are to die for, as well as their Phad Thai. read more

Thai Siam.... my favourite Thai restaurant. The Tom kah gai is the best, flavorful. My family loves the Top of the World beef and I love the curries. The owner, Nancy, also does an annual benefit to benefit the Union Gospel Mission, Cancer Lifeline, and other charities such as The Foundation For the Blind and to stop human trafficking. She feeds these homeless during Christmas as well. So not only do you get exceptional food and service you also support a wonderful business who supports our community. read more

We came here last night for dinner, and were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the unassuming building and entered into a little Thai paradise. The place is so adorably decorated compared to a lot of the more basic Thai quick-eats places around Seattle! We ordered the Top of the World Beef as an appetizer. It was SO delicious, although it didn't quite feel worth $10 given how many few pieces of beef that we had. But the beef was so tender and the flavor was so perfect that we will probably get it again. We got the reunion fried rice which is an enormous, heaping plate of fried rice with shrimp, chicken, pork, and beef. The rice had great flavor but I had a few gripes - 1) there were only two shrimps in the entire enormous plate of fried rice, 2) there was a lot of chicken and beef, but virtually no pork, and the meat that we did get was really really dry and stringy. A little confusing given how tender the beef appetizer was. We also got the chicken pad see ew - it was fine, but pretty dry. Not a lot of sauce or flavor. Service was lovely. I think we may come back again to try the less common Thai dishes since the Top of the World Beef was so good. I definitely prefer Thai Thani on Market St if I'm craving Bangkok style Thai food. Bill for all 3 of those things after tax and tip was roughly $50. read more

A nice place for some reasonably priced and very good thai food in Ballard. Service is above average and the ambiance is quiet and comfy. We started off with the spring rolls(both veg and chicken). They were just ok. Nothing very fascinating. The Pad Thai with chicken was moist and flavorful. I had it with some extra peanut sauce that helped it even more. It had ample veggies, some nice tofu and lots of chicken although the chicken was a little dry. The ma-sa-man curry with vegetables was fantastic. Very rich and delicious with a lot of vegetables. We had it along with some white rice and it was perfect. Make sure you try some jelly beans at the counter when you leave. They were really nice and a refreshing change from mints at most restaurants. Overall this place has pretty good food, friendly service and a nice charm to it. The prices are affordable and the portions are huge. Would love to drop in here again when I'm craving thai food. read more

I was on the hunt for an authentic Thai cuisine to fulfill my Thai food cravings and I came across this place on Yelp due to high ratings. The pictures looked good and it was near by to where I was staying. I didn't eat inside but I went inside to order a take out. The inside was very authentic looking which I appreciate. Okay guys: This. Place. Is. Delicious! Huge menu featuring a variety of classic and unique Thai dishes. Great prices!!! We ordered fried vegetarian spring rolls to start (they offer other spring rolls with ground chicken in them), which comes in an order of 6 that are about half the size of a "normal" spring roll and plum sauce to dip them in... so good! The Panang Curry (with chicken) and Thai Siam Noodle and the Rama (with tofu) were both FANTASTIC. We went with spice level 3 for both and it was the perfect amount of heat for us, which made me super happy. Don't you hate when you order a certain level of spice and you get it and it's not hot at all? So then you ask for a spice rack to kick it up a notch yourself? Thankfully, not the case here!!!! There's only 4 levels of spice and the server will warn you about 3's and 4's possibly being too spicy for you- so proceed with caution. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, such a great experience and quite the hidden gem north of Ballard. P.S. We were told that 3 star was very very hot so we ordered 2 star. We got dishes that had no heat whatsoever. We were really surprised to find the signature basil lovers chicken was made with ground chicken (yuck). And then the spicey eggplant showed up on a plate that was half lettuce and cabbage to disguise the tiny portion of eggplant. The flavors were bland. Great restaurant. Friendly staff and quality food. Easy takeout (easy parking). I got the lunch portion Pad Thai and it was tasty. Plenty of noodles and a big helping of both chicken and tofu. Not too many peanuts. The Red Curry was also excellent. A fist size scoop of rice in the red sauce. The beef was near fall-apart tender. The peppers were well cooked too. 2-star spicy was plenty for me. I will order a side salad next time - as when the waitress was delivering them they looked tasty. read more

Woweee this place actually knows how to make their Thai food spicy. Anytime I go to a Thai restaurant I order a 5 for spice it usually isn't spicy enough. But I did my research and came across this place that supposedly has a spice scale higher than everywhere else. And this place really delivers the spice. I ordered a 5-star spice level and the lady was like are you sure? And I get it, the five-star is kind of painful but I like that. I was sweating but it was so good! I always love to frequent this spot however this time, when I ordered on the phone to go, the person who took my order was a bit too hasty and he forgot my chicken. Personally, the chicken is the star of the show for me. I tell everyone including my roommates who I convinced to order dinner from Thai Siam tonight about this heavenly chicken. I come home, excited to dig in and there's no chicken to be found...they really did me dirty. Moving onto the food that actually was physically there, I am saddened to report that something in their recipes has changed from the last year. The phad thai that once made me cry (tears of joy) and the phad see ew that always came through...did not arrive this time. The flavor is unfortunately lacking quite a bit now. Street parking and private lot? Check. Adorable decor? Check. Fast service? Check. Large, cheap, delicious portions? Check x3! Thai Siam proved to be a great lunch option yesterday for a friend and I. We were looking for a spot near our co-working office and this ended up being just a few blocks away. The menu is chockfull of traditional dishes and plentiful options. Noodles, rice, curries, plates with chicken, tofu, pork, beef, shrimp - or dishes with all of the aforementioned proteins! It wasn't terribly busy but the guy working the floor did have a few tables to wait including ours. Food came out within 10-15 mins but after we finished eating we were stuck there a bit wondering where our server had gone. He seemed to disappear for about 15 mins so it took a while to collect the bill. Overall it was pleasant. I wouldn't necessarily drive all the way to Ballard just to eat here but if you're nearby it's a great option. read more

This was the place- a good 20 years ago- where I had my first Thai food. It should speak to the quality of the business that a) it's still open and going strong 20 years later and b) I still come back here as it's also the best Thai in town. The owners and staff pack the place with interesting collection of Thai art, tiny tea sets and their clear desire to make sure you have a fantastic meal. The menu isn't huge but packs a wallop, from 'Autumn in my Heart' with a curry drenched butternut squash to the more standard fare of Pad Thai, there is something amazing for you here. The fresh rolls are pure light and magic and this is the only place I know of that still serves toast with your satay. Other reviewers have warned about the 'real' star rating here, but let me be clear, while I can get my food mild enough for my pre-schooler, my heat-seeking husband can get his socks blown off with a simple request for 5 stars. Also, Thai Siam puts on a yearly benefit to raise funds for local (and Thai) nonprofit causes each year - 2010 was their 22nd annual- which is an amazing way to give back to the community.
