Excellent food and very consistent, I've been eating here for years. However, as of late, they have been charging 20% gratuity to all orders, even take out. It's a little deceptive how they do it, watch your bill closely. If you don't, you could be tipping a lot more than you think, up to 38% if you're a generous tipper. I love the fact that this place has amazing Thai food and it's hhalal. I've actually got food catered from here a few times and my friends have loved it so they have done catering as well. The prices are pretty reasonable for catering and the amount of food is a great amount. I always get the pad Kee mao which is also referred to as drunken noodles in other places. Omg, what can I say other than your restaurant is going to make me compare all the other Thai restaurants I encounter for the rest of my life to you! This place definitely raised the bar for me. Everything I ordered was 10/10 everything, including the free egg roll that comes with the order. I had the spicy yellow curry chicken and the crab cheese puffs, oh also the fried chicken wings. The food was so divine, the restaurant is small but very busy that's also a sign that the food is fire when patrons are coming in and out constantly, it tells you yea the food must be lit and it is. We love the: yellow curry chicken, sesame chicken (which btw is not fried and kids love it), basil delight, coconut ice cream, crispy veggie rolls, and papaya salad. Thai Siam is a hidden gem. It's tucked away on hwy 6 in between some small businesses but oh my god. Their food is to die for!! I've never been disappointed. The restaurant itself doesn't have the fanciest sitting area or ambiance but the food makes up for it. I usually always get the red curry with chicken (spice level 3) or I get the yellow curry with chicken (spice level 3). I'm a sucker for coconut based curries and these are always on point. If you're not a curry person, I'd definitely suggest the pad Thai. We also get the shrimp rolls here and those are great as well! Price wise this place is very budget friendly. Curry + steamed rice will cost you around $10. And the rest of their items run around the same price as well. Their lunch special is amazing too. You can get an app, and entree for $10. I have been coming to Thai Siam for the last 3-4 years and it is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Houston area (yes, including Houston and I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants!). Whenever we come here, there are certain staple items we get and then throughout the years, and there are other items I have also tried. For their appetizer, I recommend the cilantro tofu (it has a really amazing smoky taste that complements the cilantro really well) as well as the crab meat cheese roll (can't go wrong with crab meat and cheese!). My husband always gets their crispy tofu and likes it as well. I tried their triangle chicken toast once and it was a bit too oily for me. The entire thing was fried and as it got colder, it seemed like the oil got more oilier. For their soups, their Tom Kha is a MUST. I love the right proportions of coconut milk and kaffir lime. It comes out in a really cute soup warmer and their large portion is good for 3-4 people. Their vegetable soup is another good warming alternative but not as flavorful as their Tom Kha. Another must dish is their papaya salad. I get it without the shrimp because I don't like the fishy taste as much but it is a really refreshing dish that is also surprisingly spicy. In terms of main entrees, their basil fried rice is a must for basil lovers. They also have a basil okra dish that is sometimes on their menu which is another great option for vegetarian. I love their chicken yellow curry because they use REAL potatoes and not this sweet potato nonsense that other places try to use. Their pad se ew and pad kee mao are also good but I definitely prefer their currys. Overall, a great place to bring a large group. John the owner always makes an effort of stopping by the table and have a quick conversation. They do get busy on the weekends but for sitting option, they move pretty quickly. I will admit, we had had some timing issues whenever we order out (and go pick it up ourselves, not with Door Dash) but that is why I prefer eating in because their service is great! read more

Such are the adorable quips delivered from the owner of Thai Siam, whose abilities to make you feel like a welcome member of his family rather than a customer are unsurpassed in Houston. This was after my aunt had given him the traditional Thai greeting of bowed head and folded hands but she had done it in front of her face and not her heart. You bow with hands folded in front of face only to monks. Really, I love Thai Siam because everything comes from the heart. The food never disappoints. You will get a good Thai fix here. Personally, I enjoyed the eggplant on fire (a sizzling eggplant dish), tofu lemongrass, the veggie pad Thai and the fish cakes. The curries are much tastier if you get them medium or hot but you probably didn't need me to tell you that. Otherwise, the red curry is totally solid. I appreciate that they have a page dedicated to vegetarian and vegan options just as there is a page dedicated to each of the meats and seafood offered. Places that don't treat vegetarian options as an afterthought earn an extra star in my book. No matter what, YOU HAVE TO GET THE COCONUT ICE CREAM. On our first visit, the owner opened a bottle of excellent merlot (apparently those exist) on the house and entertained us with his stories of Thailand. When we didn't order dessert, he brought us coconut ice cream on the house. We were converts at that point. On our second visit, my uncle asked for the label of the merlot. The owner returned with a bottle and glasses to share. It wasn't just us that he took a shine to. All over the restaurant, he was similarly making people feel at home. I don't expect swag on future visits nor do I care if I receive it. I care that he remembers everything from dietary preferences to life stories and truly derives joy from seeing people enjoy themselves at his restaurant. Thai Siam is a favorite dining experience in Houston now. Over the holidays it brought much-needed holiday cheer and I expect it'll continue to be one of my "happy places" as long as I live in Houston. This restaurant reminds me of my favorite Thai restaurant from back home in NJ. It is a very small location, so I recommend getting here early. Has a lot of charm, service is quick, and food is really good. My friends and I tend to have differing opinions but I love it. Plenty of parking, and it is in a busy strip mall with Kroger but that doesn't matter. No issues at all with finding parking. Can't wait to visit again. read more

Pretty decent food in a typical cookie cutter layout restaurant, from the outside you would never know it's open because it's blocked from the inside. I really can't recall the name of the dish my bf tried but it's the typical stir fry beef and noodle dish that every Thai restaurant serves. I took a bite of that while waiting for my food, it was surprisingly very flavorful. I ordered the basil tofu (get it spicy!) which came with mixed vegetables, that was also very flavorful and good. The prices really are typical prices, I don't think it's any more expensive than it's competitors. What really adds a nice touch is how nice the owner is, he came around frequently to ask how our meal was and it also seems he knew almost all the patrons there. There was an issue with our rice which he quickly rectified and was very nice about it, even gave us his signature coconut ice cream on the house. I'm excited this place is so close to my house! I've only had their food once, and it was take-out, so I can't comment on the dining experience. However, it wasn't too busy on a Friday night and they had my food ready quickly. Their tom kha gai is incredibly delicious - the broth is thick and sweet, and it had plenty of chunks of chicken and mushroom in it. I also ordered pineapple duck curry - made the mistake of not specifying a spice level, so maybe I got medium, or maybe it's this place's version of mild... in any case, it was hott but delicious. My family and I have been ordering from here for years. We order at least once or twice a month. We've tried other thai places but we always come back here. As vegetarians, the food is always flavorful and delicious. The veggie pad thai can be hit or miss sometimes, depending on who is cooking it I guess. However the Massanun curry tofu and Tom Kah Gai Soup have never disappointed me. Always delicious. We order take out usually and the serving size is always more than enough. My friend and I were on this side of town for some business. We don't live near here anymore so we always turn to yelp as an aide, and unfortunately, in this case, it totally let us down. This place has over a great rating and has some from some Yelpers that I follow. But our experience for lunch was a big letdown. Most of our meals are either Thai or Indian, because we normally do not get to eat those two genres with our significant others so we take full advantage of a meal together. This place has a very affordable lunch special. It comes with a small eggroll, salad, and entrée. I got the green curry with chicken and this thing was HOT! I mean temperature wise. For some reason it was scolding hot. The spiciness was decent, it was not overwhelming. But when the temperature cooled down and I could taste my food, I realized it was really really bland. This is the definition of a hole in the wall. I was not expecting the amazingness that is Thai Siam when I came for my first visit (which was the first of many.) The food is delicious. I make everyone go there, and it's definitely my comfort food. My favorites are the crab meat cheese rolls, which are divine, and the Thai Siam rice. The rice is *very* spicy, so I usually stick to a one. A two is good for people who love spiciness, and I can't imagine going any higher. i moved from Stafford to Midtown and haven't found a replacement, so I find myself driving over 20 miles just to get some. The waiters often do not know what the customer needs. At another visit with friends, the waitress kept on bringing glasses of water or drinks, but she keeps on forgetting the straws! Thai Siam is a cozy and small restaurant. The decoration inside is of a traditional and cultural feel. I love places that give off that vibe. I have enjoyed the Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai. Both dishes are served with thin rice noodles and flavourful meats and vegetables. Tom Kha Gai Soup is a bit sour to my taste. I know that lemon grass and lime juice are used, but it was a bit too over powering. The soup is served in an interesting bowl that makes it hard to take out the contents. I do like how they thought of using a traditional soup bowl, but it is not practical. For appetizer's, I recommend Sate and Tod Mun Pla (fish cakes). The Sate is served with a beautiful peanut sauce which is highly addictive. (I LOVE peanut butter!) The Tod Mun Pla is basically spicy fried minced fish cakes. It is served with a spicy red pepper cucumber relish. Delicious! The curries here are warm, fragrant, and fill up your bellie! I have been pleased with both the Green Curry, and Massamun Curry. They are rich and spicy, served up with a side of steaming jasmine rice. For a refreshing drink, sip on some Thai Iced Tea. Although I would not recommend ordering it with tapioca. The pearls are overly cooked. My drink was tasty, minus the pearls which were too soft. Overall, I always enjoy my experience at this quiet neighborhood restaurant. So my boyfriend introduced me to this place and it was my first experience with Thai food. I have a pretty low tolerance for heat so I just got it mild. And the boyfriend ordered their house fried rice, I think? and it was at the spiciest level. All our dishes came out relatively quickly. I enjoyed the chicken and basil, though it could've had more flavor. Maybe I should've gotten it a little spicier. I tried some of my boyfriend's fried rice was soooo good! It was spicy as hell, but I couldn't stop wanting more. And the crab puffs. Oh my, the crab puffs. I think they're the best I've ever had. I don't know if it's the kind of crab meat they put in it, or the seasoning, or their sauce. But they had a nice toasty taste to it in addition to its crunch. My boyfriend and I ended up ordering not seconds, but thirds of it. Ugh. So good. I love this place. If I lived in Sugar Land this would be my main Thai restaurant. Too bad Sugar Land is so far away from where I live now. My husband used to live in Sugar Land while we were dating and we went to Thai Siam almost once a week or once every other week. We always get their pad thai. Their crab meat cheese rolls are what kept us coming though. OMG so good. Now everytime I go to any other restaurant and they have crab meat cheese rolls I have to try it...but I have yet to find a location that does it better than Thai Siam. So I came here one time and the food was bland and lower then subpar and even after an expensive bill I didn't come here to write a review. But tonight a different group of friends suggested to try it out and since it was 1v5 we decided to head here. Yet when we got there they said it was only a reservation night . Then he said the only table left was a table of 8. Instead of splitting one of the tables from the 8 to make it table of 6 and and a table of 2 ( which was literally the couple behind us) he told us it would be 1.5 hour wait. This place is first on my list for Thai food in the sugar land area! I have been here twice and have been extremely satisfied both times. The first time even the manager personally talked to us and recommended food options. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. I love their spring rolls and these special dumplings for appetizers. I've had their Bangkok pad thai which was great. Also their pineapple curry chick fried rice was very delicious. The yellow curry here is just average. The lunch portion is nice and filling, The yellow curry is not worth the money. However, the other ones may be better.
