There were lots of happy and smiling people around. t We ordered more than what was shown in the picture which was the pad kee mao, wings and mango sticky rice. The portions are insane so come with hungry bellies. It was very busy but we were still able to get a seat for 2 around 6:30pm. For spice level we opted for the thai hot for the noodle dish and just hot for the curry and salad. It was definitely tolerable and I think we could've gone hotter! I am not sure why the ratings are so high. I have had better Thai food. Pros 1. Good portion sizes. 2. Great Thai tea 3. Only three customers when we came in so they kept everyone socially distanced. Menus under glass table to keep it clean. 4: all the workers appropriately wore their masks covering both their nose and mouth which is great. Cons: 1. Red curry being my favorite dish was not all that great here. The curry had a powdery texture in it which made it feel like the coconut curry or sauces were not fresh coconut milk or cream. The vegetables and chicken was fine. 2. The pad Thai was too sour like too much lemon or vinegar. It didn't have much flavor. I even ordered medium spicy and it really didn't add much flavor to it. 3. Despite there being only one other customer, it took a long time to receive our order. 4. They added automatic 18% tip to our check even though we were just 2 people. That's often done for large parties. I really don't like when restaurants do that. read more

Haha anyways, came here with the rents and my hubby and we liked the food but there were definitely some cons. 1. The green curry was amazingggggg. BUT the portion (even though it was on a longer plate) was so small. I could've had the whole plate to myself) 2. The sesame chicken was decent - but I definitely prefer Chinese style sesame chicken because it has a coating on it and this one was just saucy 3. Now the pad Thai was just straight horrible. After a couple of bites, I couldn't take the taste. It had a very strong chicken taste to it...idk it was just off. 4. The Thai tea was good, not too sweet. This is my go-to spot for Thai cuisine (13 years and counting) and it hits the spot every single time. The food is authentic with the appropriate level of spice and flavor that is expected from Thai cuisine. They keep their curries on the slightly thicker side, and everything tastes fresh. Go for the Pad Thai Bangkok, Su-chee shrimp, Prik Khing, Green curry. All of these hit the mark for me. Finish it off with their coconut ice cream. It's definitely different in a very pleasant way. They even put a little toothpick umbrella on top of it. It serves no purpose, but I love it anyway. Last but not least is John - the owner. John has built friendships with so many customers over the years because he truly operates his restaurant as a family business built around the community. He is a gem of a guy. Great Pad Thai. We usually get take out from them. They are fast and always get the order right. The crispy spring rolls with the sweet and sour sauce are awesome. It makes me hungry just thinking about it. I haven't tried a lot of different things here because I'm not a Thai food fan, but what I have had has been really good. One of the best Thai restaurants in the surrounding Houston area. I typically get the pad Thai, or red curry, larb ghai.

While we wait for Thai cuisine to blow up like Ramen and Poke did in the past two years, Thai Siam is a solid place for Thai food among the few small Thai restaurants scattered throughout Houston. Although they have a couple more dishes than a typical Americanized Thai restaurant, don't expect much variety beyond the typical meat skewers, Pad Thai, curry, or fried rice. Our appetizer of beef skewers were huge and had decent flavor with the peanut sauce, but they were slightly overcooked and dry. The cashews in the Pineapple Fried Rice added a crunch to the dish that made it quite enjoyable, and the juiciness from pineapples contributed to a perfectly balanced contrast of sweet/savory flavors. The noodles in the Pad Thai was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the sauce was also not over powering like it is at other Thai restaurants. In addition, the toppings and other ingredients were pretty darn fresh. The crispiness of the beansprouts, the bounciness of the large shrimps, the crunch from the crushed peanuts, mixed with the firm yet slightly soft noodles created a splendid combo of texture. If I ever craved for Pad Thai this would be the place to go. As for Curry, I went with the Roast Duck Curry. Although my standard request of "NoSpicyPlz" was denied, the mild spiciness was managable for me. I really enjoyed how tender the duck meat was. The curry wasn't too sweet from being drenched in coconut milk either. The only downside was the extremely long wait for the food to come out, a good 25-30 minutes after our orders were placed, despite not having too many customers that weekday night. Found this place randomly when on Highway 6 and looking for Thai. It turned out to be super yummy. I got the Massuman curry, red curry, and pad see ew. The noodle dish was our least favorite because it seemed try and under seasoned. But I liked that they had put a ton of veggies (not just broccoli) in it. The curries we're the star. First, the portions were huge! The massuman had a great peanuty flavor and I'll definitely go back for more. Good take our service. Would definitely go back for more curry. Yum! read more

Thai Siam is a solid choice for Thai food if you're in the area. Compared to other Thai places in Houston, it's not the best, but it is definitely better than average. I only had the chance to try their pad thai, masaman curry, and red curry for dinner. The portions were big, but everything tasted on the sweet side. My only complaint here is that even when ordering their level 5 heat, thai hot (the hottest level), nothing was very spicy. I'm a big fan of spicy food, and it didn't have that addicting spicy kick that I was looking for. But despite the lack of heat, the food was tasty and the service was great. If you're someone who likes mild Thai food, this place will quickly become your go to Thai restaurant if you're in this area of Houston. This is my convenient location for my Thai food cravings. They have a good variety and most of their dishes are yummy. To start with their Saute chicken appetizers with the peanut sauce is delicious. Then I like most of their main dishes and I have pretty much tried them all and like them. They also offer different warm teas in a pot or the Boba tea with the tapioca balls and it is a nice relaxing environment and the servers and owners serve with love so makes you feel warm and welcomed. They also sell the sweet banana or plantain chips in boxes. read more

You really can't go wrong at Thai Siam--we try and stop every time we visit family in Sugar Land. I love their lunch specials. The vegetable egg rolls are crispy and come with a delicious dipping sauce, and their house salad is one of my favorites (I believe the dressing is made fresh by the owner!). Thai Siam is a cozy space with an abundant amount of natural light, neutral walls filled with Thai decor, figurines, large print and decorative wood panels. Seating consists of wrought iron tables and chairs with banquette seating on one wall perfect for large groups. Tables are set up as 4, 6, and 8 tops. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Take note of the hours of operation. They close at 3:00 p.m. and reopen from 5:00 - 9:30 p.m. The restaurant was quite busy at lunch when I arrived. I was motioned to a table as I entered. The waitress was ready to take my drink order immediately so I started with water. I ended up ordering a Thai Young Coconut drink which was a pretty presentation in a small, craved out coconut but left me wanting more than fresh coconut water. The menu is similar to most Thai restaurants with Soups, Noodles, Curry, Fried Rice, Salads, Entrees, House Specials and Vegetarian selections. Pacific-Rim Mixed under Entrees and House Specials has Chicken Volcano, Roast Duck Curry or Crispy Duck but Summering Seafood with grilled shrimp, scallops and crab meat over fried rice certainly peaked my interest for a return visit. The lunch menu is served from 11:00 - 3:00 with16 lunch specials served with salad, an egg roll and steamed Jasmine rice($6.95 - $7.95). Also all dishes can be served vegetarian style upon request. I ordered L-15, Pad Kee Mao which is stir fried chicken with rice noodles, onions, bell peppers, broccoli, and fresh basil in a spicy sauce. Served with a crispy egg roll, house salad with delicious peanut dressing and steamed jasmine rice (except for soup or noodle dishes including my L15). The house salad is shredded with carrots, cabbage, lettuce, cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes topped with a scrumptious homemade peanut dressing. The consistency of the shredded ingredients made it easy to eat and I loved the flavorful peanut dressing. The peanut dressing was the highlight of my lunch. The veggies were fresh and tasty since the salad wasn't overdressed. The crispy eggroll wasn't greasy and had a good flavor. My entree was loaded with grilled chicken, large rice noodles and sauteed bell peppers, onions, broccoli and fresh basil. There are 4 heat levels of mild, medium, hot (burn) or Thai hot (suicide hot). I enjoy spicy but never know whether to order medium or hot the first time at a new restaurant. Sometimes medium is quite spicy but I should have ordered hot because the medium wasn't spicy at all for me. From now on I'm just going for hot because I prefer the heat to no heat. The presentation was adorable with the salad served in a small, white boat dish and the entree was served in a fish shaped dish. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. Fast enough for a lunch break or relaxed enough for a business lunch. Other than the spice level I enjoyed my entree and lunch experience. read more

This place used to be our favorite Thai spot. Our entire family always comes here. Until today. Seems as if the management has changed. The food wasn't as good and the service sucked. We had a table of 7 and our bill was $170. The kitchen apparently closed for lunch while we were still dining. Our waitress, who did not give us good service all, did not come to us for last call. At 3:00 on the dot we asked to order 3 plates of dessert and were denied. If we were told before the kitchen is closing we would've ordered beforehand. I just find it ridiculous that after spending that much the kitchen didn't make an exception for us since our waitress failed to inform us. Not coming back here anymore for sure. read more

I have never had anything off the menu I didn't like. I was on vacation in Thailand in 2019 and we spent evenings sampling street vendors for dinner. The dumplings at Thai Siam are legit. I have loved this place, but the recent price hike is too much! Gotta find a new Thai place. One of my favorites has been the vegetable soup. However, $18.95 (an increase from $12.95) for a large vegetable soup that is literally seasoned broth and vegetables (NO MEAT) is ridiculous! Also, my daughter ordered the yellow curry. Aside from the price hike, she received more white rice than before and way less yellow curry. It's too bad because we really do like the food. Solid Thai spot in a little shopping center off hwy6. This place has been around for years and the food has been consistent. Service can be slow especially during peak hours.
