Really loved the items I got for takeout yesterday, including a stellar bubble tea (coffee flavor). I ordered three different soups: 1)a tom yum soup with shrimp and the yin/yang sweet and sour notes, 2)a coconut shrimp variety, and 3)a clear but flavorful broth with snow peas and bean sprouts. Food here is okay not great nor bad. Out of the few items that I have tried, one that I liked the most is their bacon fried rice. Just because I love thai food and haven't found any great Thai restaurants in the westside, I opt to drive down here when I feel lazy enough not to drive far. They have a large menu. Their lunch menu dishes cost almost half their dinner prices. That's a great deal there. Thai Spice is my all-time favorite restaurant. The food is always delicious, they have plenty of vegetarian options, and the boba is the best I've ever had. Of course I wanted to sprinkle a little Thai Spice on my wedding day, so we ordered 80 bobas with four of our favorite flavors for our wedding reception, and let me tell you: they were all gone in SECONDS, even before the person dropping them off finished placing them on the table. I'll preface this review with the fact that I've never eaten in the restaurant, I've always ordered takeout. My entire family has enjoyed exploring the menu here. We've tried just about everything at this point. My personal favorite is the yellow curry. My experience with the food has been great. The order process can be moderately frustrating as the person you are ordering from is often the only person at the register for people doing pickups. Even if they tell you 30 minutes and you show up in 40, odds are you will wait 5-10 minutes. It's worth the wait but it is annoying when you are hungry. There aren't a huge amount of Thai restaurants in the area so having this one close by is awesome. read more

We ordered take out food at 7:28 pm on a Saturday night - I understand that they could be busy on a Saturday night. The boy on the phone said an hour before it would've ready. We ordered w Pho beef soups, 2 spring rolls and 2 summer rolls - not very difficult IMO, but we were ok with it since we have heard great reviews. It's now 8:41 on and I'm still standing here waiting for my food in an EMPTY restaurant! There are about 25 tables and only 4 have people sitting in them. I really hope this is worth the wait... Getting better, Thai Spice. Sweet Basil kitchen was closed at 9 pm(seriously considering a star deduction). That afforded us the chance to try this place again. Tofu pad thai was on point. Crispy tofu triangles, not mush, in a heaping helping of noodles. Spring rolls were excellent and tasted like pork. Don't tell the wife, she didn't notice. Tempura vegetable app was alright but not stupendous. I had the green apple bubble tea, she the strawberry. WAY better in slushie form. Oh well, live and learn. I Uber Eats-ed some food from here the other during COVID & it was pretty good. I got the Pad Thai noodles with extra shrimp extra hot, house fried rice, & veggie spring rolls. We drive out this way quite frequently and hadn't stopped into Thai Spice before because, quite frankly we always forget to place an order before we head home. We love, love, love Thai food, however, we have several places that we are regulars at near our home. This week we finally remembered this place while we were in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. We ordered takeout, pad see ew, Panang Curry, and fried rice. The service was great and the food was ready on time when we arrive. We were pleased to see that they were quite busy to boot. Once we got home things changed for the worse. The food was bad, it was however forgettable. The pad see ew had a strong smell of fermented miso or balsamic vinegar, the fried rice was bland and filled with large filler vegetables instead of rice it contained nearly half a European cucumber, strange because rice is cheap, and the curry was average. The portions were smaller than we get from local options while costing the same, and the only reason I say that it was forgettable is that both my fiance and I literally forgot we had leftovers in the fridge, a first for Thai food. If I lived in the area I would frequent often, the food was fine. However, it will not supplant our local options nor satisfy our cravings if we were looking for great Thai food. read more

Stopped in for lunch because the girlfriend wanted Thai, and we happened to be in the area. It's in an unassuming plaza, but the interior is a bit more welcoming. A quick glance at the yelp reviews steered me away from even trying the pad thai (which is probably the first time I've ever NOT ordered it at a Thai place), and I went with the Mango chicken curry. It wasn't the best but it was good, it was filling, and at under $8 it's a win for me. My girlfriend ordered the beef massaman curry which I don't really like, but she said it was ok if not lacking... something. We also had some summer rolls, which were good although the wrap was really sticky and the shrimp was just a little bit on the small side. They make some bomb ass bubble tea smoothies though. Huge portions, wider variety than your average restaurant, and smooth, delicious boba. Overall, it really wasn't bad, but I can't say I would ever return... at least for anything other than the bubble tea. read more

The best asian local spot around I recommend 100% I had the summer rolls, I recommend the shrimp and that peanut sauce is bangin. I split the pho with my girlfriend it is HUGE and is SOOO GOOD Defo good for 2 to split comfortably. Then she got the garlic duck and I got the chili duck, both recommend the duck portion is VERY VERY GENEROUS crispy skin, delicious sauces and amazingly fresh veggies. Safe to say we got way too much food we both agreed will be going back monthly from now on can't say Enough how good it was. Extensive Thai menu and open a little later than other restaurants in the area. We dined in and felt the dining room was a little worn and dark. Could use a good scrub and spruce up. My family and I LOVE this restaurant. We've been coming here every Christmas Eve for about 5 years now. We bring our own wine and just spend the night chatting and eating delicious Thai food. The owner knows us and always comes out to greet us! This place is just very cozy and quaint. We normally get potstickers, spring rolls and summer rolls to start with and take home. My sister is a vegetarian and gets the vegetarian rainbow full of fresh veggies. My dad gets Massaman curry with duck and brown rice. My other sister and I always get the Pad Thai dish. It's just so good, we can't get anything else! I've been to Thailand before and the Pad Thai a woman made me right in front of me tastes almost identical to the one here. Something happened here that's never happened at any other Thai restaurant I've been to: when I placed my order (the vegetable pad thai and the string beans and tofu) the waitress asked me -- before I could say anything else -- if fish sauce was OK! I said, "Actually, I was about to ask you if we could have it without." And she said, "Yes, no problem." That was a sign that they get it when I say "vegetarian.' (Did they lie to me? Overall a really great place for truly veg Thai food. The tempura vegetable appetizer was great too, with lots of chunky vegetables in just the right amount of batter. What is the story with the service? The food is so tasty, but you can't get an order that is correct and available in less than 1.5 hours? Even if you order pick up and pay with a credit card(for social distancing), you must sign a receipt with a heavily handed pen. If you wait 1.5 hours for your text to pick up, you don't get a text until you call. Then you wait in a tight lobby to pick up your cold food. It is so sad that the service is keeping me away from amazingly great food. I cannot say enough about how good the food is. I leave this review to help a talented kitchen keep customers. read more

I really want to give this place a better score and I think I would have if we would have ordered food to go. The reason why I gave it a lower score is because of the service and the atmosphere inside. Yes, it's nice they have tables to dine at however some of the booths are old a squeaky. Also, the decor inside just looks dated. If they place got a whole face lift, it would be better. The service was slow. Like we were seated at the table for 5 min before we ordered water. And then it took the server another good 3-4 min to get us our waters. She just didn't seem very attentive, maybe she was new. Now on to the food. Delicious!
