Thai Spoon is soooooo delicious. I usually get the Pad-Thai or the Pad-Se-Ew. Both of those dishes are amazing. The flavors complement each other and every bite is 100% worth it. The rest of my family take Panang or Sweet and Sour curry, Drunken noodles, or other seafood dishes. if you have kids, I recommend the potstickers. I also love the combination dessert and fried ice cream. The service is fast and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and warm. The booths are also very comfortable. Holy Thai Food Batman!! This was a spot I frequented back years ago when I lived a lot closer. On the way back from the airport we were hungry and craving Thai food. This little gem popped into my brain so we decided to stop. Boy am I glad we did! It reminded me of how awesome this the food was and still is! We ordered the egg rolls and fried calamari to start. Both perfectly fried to a crisp, and delicious! They came with their own dipping sauces. Then ordered soup, because I remember the Tom Yum (chicken) and the coconut soup being soooooo good! Yep, I was right again. Main dishes didn't disappoint either. Two of us ordered Pad Thai Chicken extra, extra, extra spicy of course. The server looked at me like I was crazy. I am but that's another story. So good! So spicy Yum The service was excellent as I had also remembered and the price was right. I have been eating here for years and since the Pho craze, I have alternated between Pho location eatery's and Thai Spoon's Tom Yum Noodle Soup. I can say without a doubt, Thai Spoon has been consistently on point every time! I love this place! I have tried Tom Yum at other locations and nothing compares to here! I'm not looking for mushrooms and all the other things you can find at other locations. I Just want the soup, the noodles, the shrimp, lemon grass, bean sprouts and that awesome flavor. NEVER BEEN MORE DISRESPECTED IN MY LIFE. I have never been here before but my boyfriend and his family have been coming for over 10 years, several times a week, always generous tippers and have a relationship with the staff. He recently went to college and is unable to tip like he used to, understandable as college is expensive. My boyfriend is on a meeting for a school organization, so we sit in a corner booth with his computer to not be distraction to other guests. As soon as we sit down, my first impression is the waiter slamming the menus on the table and interrogating him why he's hasn't been tipping the last several times (He did, we checked his bank statement). He told us that the next time we come in don't bother sitting down and order takeout. We are both are in shock, but remain respectful despite this. He "serves" us by filling our waters occasionally and slamming/spilling it on the table. As we get the check, my boyfriend pulls out his wallet and the waiter tells him "don't even bother tipping, just get take out next time because we won't serve you." My boyfriend being the better of the two of us continues to give him a tip. We go up to the counter where our waiter and another man are standing, and we try and get some clarity for the situation, he apologizes for any misunderstanding that he didn't like the previous service and the small tips are just a reflection of him not being able to work right now. These men start arguing with us to justify that tips are required and as we turn to leave the waiter says "go talk to your mommy about it." We go sit in the car to wait for all the other customers to leave and calm down so I can politely go in to ask for the owner's contact information. Turns out the other man that was yelling at us and allowing the waiter to treat us like that is the owner. I was APPALLED. As I talked to the owner calmly about what made him feel like that was justifiable, he gets in my face and in a mocking voice says "You know this is America right? You tip here in this country." I'm leaving out a lot of details about further comments of disrespect, but you get the point. My boyfriend comes in to check on me and as soon as he walks in they start yelling at him. I have to drag us out so we don't do something uncalled for. The experience I had tonight is something I pray no other customer should receive. read more

I always enjoy the food here. My favorites are the Tom Kha and Basil fried rice. I recently had the calamari and it was really great. Cooked just right. Crispy and not rubbery. I appreciate that they have a kids menu. My son likes the pot stickers. The service is hit or miss depending on who you get. When someone asks me for my Thai food recommendation, this is always my number 1 recommendation. However, there is a first time for everything and today was the first time Thai Spoon has failed me. It was the first time the food was not as delicious as it normally is. But more than that, I was extremely disappointed at how little of the Panang curry sauce we received. I even told the waitress and asked for more curry but to no avail. The problem is that they brought the curry out on a plate instead of a bowl so all the curry was collected up by the rice before it could be enjoyed and it just detracted from the meal. We were not checked in even once during our meal so the whole experience was the worst I've ever had at Thai Spoon. I'd still come back but I hope this is a one time experience. This place has great Thai food and severs were extremely friendly and helpful. We ate 3 appetizers that are not pictured. They were Shrimp in blankets, Dumplings and Springrolls. They were freshly cooked and lovely. For the entree I had the drunken noodles with chicken. This was cooked perfectly and the serving size was great, about a meal and a half for me. And finally dessert, the fried bananas were the best I have had in the Central Texas area, the sticky rice was the perfect amount of sweetness and stickiness and the mango ice cream was amazing. One of our part got a bowl. Will definitely try them. And they don't deliver but maybe they need to check out Runner City Austin and get a delivery person that way. read more

It is not a huge place, it isn't fancy... in fact it is really kind of just simple when you walk in... however the food is trippen The Lights Fantastic GOOD! I've been here several times and eaten several different things... nothing has ever been just ok... it's all been off the chain!! The Tom Yum is great... you can get it with your choice of meat in it... chicken, sea food (shrimp, squid, and scallops) or beef... it is a sour punch of heat to the senses... worth every sip of water and every tear shed with out a doubt. Food: I got the pad Thai and let me tell you it was packed with flavor! Every single bite was amazing. I got level 5 spicy and it's very spicy! They definitely know what they are doing here. For the price the portion could be bigger. They put a ton of bean sprouts, I mean a lot! I had to ask for a side plate to remove all the bean sprouts. Once I did that I then noticed how small the portion of food was for the price. Management don't be cheap! For the price put more pad Thai and less bean sprouts. Fried ice cream: really good! You actually get two pieces of fried ice cream for 4.50 but don't get this every time. It will make you really fat like Elvis and probably kill you. Service: slow! They were not extremely packed and yet they took a long time for my pad Thai. I mean a good 25 mins. Pad Thai is a very simple fish to cook. Recently the phone goes straight to a full voicemail or just rings and rings with no end. This is not a one time or even two time occurrence, in fact it happens so often I've lost track. Gluten free? They can help but they use fish sauce as a substitute. Why not get gluten free soy sauce Thai Spoon? 4 stars because I absolutely love your Pad Thai and your Tom Yum soup. Thai Spoon is in the same strip mall as an HEB off of Gattis School Road in Round Rock. This review is for dinner. Food: Shrimp summer rolls had a little too much noodle, but was decent, and served with a warmed peanut sauce. Drunken noodles with beef had a good flavor to it. We went with a medium spice level which was perfect - a very slight hint of heat with pepper. Noodles were a bit broken up into 1-1.5 inch chunks, but I guess that works if you're eating with a fork. The yellow curry was packed with chicken and other ingredients like onion, carrot, and potato. Again, a medium spice level was a bit slight for us, but that's a preference, not a nit. Each table has its own condiment tray of spices, chili sauce, peanuts, and chilis. Service: Efficient. You're greeted and seated quickly (this was at 8pm on a Thursday), and drinks are out in good time. They are refilled often, and without asking. Cost: The dishes above and one ice tea ran us $35 after tax. Overall: Plenty of parking, and they seem to handle the volume of orders (eat-in and to-go) quite well. Cards are accepted. read more
