Best place in El Cajon for Thai food and probably one of the best in San Diego as well (tried 4 of them here and yes, I am Thai). Pad Ped and the sweet rice with mandarin orange on it was really good. The spice mussels were delicious and I think I have had every item on the menu now as I have been here many times over the past year! If you ask for spice levels, REMEMBER... this is a THAI restaurant, not a Mexican restaurant, most of the food is spicy and hot from the get go, so if you are not used to spice, order it at a 1 level then go from there... I usually order mine at an 8 level (as I like hot food!) and that is about right for me. So I decided to start yelping again, and I thought about writing about one of my favorite Thai Food places. There is this Thai food place in El Cajon where the food is delicious, not cheaper than other places I been in El Cajon Blvd. I've had spicy noodles with chicken and with shrimp; the red curry is great with chicken. The boba Thai tea is delicious I recommend you getting the bigger cup. You can also try the fresh spring rolls either with shrimp or tofu or chicken. The food is always made fresh, with the finest ingredients. The staff is always friendly. I used to love, love going to Amarin Thai in Hillcrest, but the food quality seems to have gone down. I've been here several times already and i always forget to make my review. so here it is. It's one of my favorite places to eat. It's a hidden gem tucked in a small plaza. It's a family owned restaurant. Every time we come here we sit at the same table all the time. The food is awesome, and great service! The only downside is that it's such a small place so it can get crowded. If you bring a group of family members or friends might be best to see if you can make a reservation to make sure you have a table waiting for you. I live a little far from this place but its worth the drive. I just wish they deliver my way. Anyways, try all their dishes it's good. I could eat their spicy noodle with chicken every day. It is that good! They can make it as spicy as you want. I get a 4/10 hottness. We get there food delivered to our home and it always comes hot and the order is correct (except for 1 time it came late because they couldn't find our home). I liked this place. I wouldn't go off and say its the best Thai food around, but its a really solid place. I went here in the afternoon during the week to pick up some food to take home for lunch. The place was dead. The ladies up front were very friendly and made me feel welcomed. The place was small but there were some really cool decorations inside. I got the yellow curry with chicken, spicy number 8, some pad Thai noodles with chicken and the vegetarian spring rolls. The curry was amazing and might have been the best I've ever had. They also gave huge portions of all the food. The rest of the items were so-so. I've never had pad Thai noodles before this so I'm not sure how they are supposed to be but they were kinda dry and lacking flavor I find Thai food normally has. The spring rolls were probably my least favorite part of the meal. They looked pretty good but they were over loaded on onion. I like onion usually but the vegetarian spring rolls are usually a mild flavor and you get a peanuty taste when you put the sauce on and that's what makes it good. This was basically like taking a bite out of a white onion and adding some tofu (which is plain tasting) and covering on some so-so peanut sauce. I want to make sure I say that NOTHING was actually bad, just not as good as I had hoped. My overall experience was it was friendly service, nice interior, standard pricing and okay food (averaging it all together). I would and probably will go back, but I'm in no hurry. read more

The restaurant is a bit small but makes up for it with dim lights and a romantic setting. 1-10 rating for spiciness with such plates. I always get the yellow chicken curry with a 6 spicy rating, i like spicy food. They're spicy fat noodles are delicious also and their food is rich in flavor. I have been eating it here for a while, went out of town (Michigan) and had Pad Thai and was so disappointed. Every thing I have had here is delish! You will not be disappointed. I have only had one not so good experience here - they had new people working because they opened a new place in Ramona (I think) and I ordered the same spice level as always and it was way too hot to eat and I like spice!.
