I have been here twice and both times have been wonderful! Both times the place was not crowded, I believe it was my party plus another and there were multiple pick ups on to-go orders. The atmosphere is quiet and decorated with Thai decor. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The first time I had lettuce wraps with a peanut sauce. The peanut sauce is out of this world! If your allergic to peanuts .. I'm sorry. It's so good! The second time I had cashew chicken which was delicious and even better as leftovers! My fiancé also enjoyed his meals- I think one was duck. Delicious food! I have only tried two thai places in Pinellas County since moving down from Philadelphia, but regardless Thai Town takes the cake. The pad thai is amazing, and the basil noodle dish was fantastic. I usually get both chicken and veggies; it costs two extra dollars but it is worth it because you have a variety and it is more food. It is awesome they don't just add both chicken and veggies and give you less, nope!!!! You get tons of food!! They are fast and friendly there!! I highly recommend!! read more

So here we were. We definitely went the 'family style' route since none of us could decide on one dish. Massaman Curry- I have been looking for the perfect curry since coming back from Thailand a couple years ago, and this place may take the cake. Thai Town Satay Wrap- I feel would have been better to chop it all up and mix it as a salad. All of the components were great though. Mighty Duck- Was very good, sauce was yummy, but I think there could have been more duck. Pork Fried Rice- Yum and Yum. Overall, awesome meal. Thai Town is our family's go-to take out restaurant. The food is always fresh and flavorful and we love the assortment of options. My personal favorites are Tom Kha soup and Pineapple Curry (both with veggies) although I've been impressed by their Pad Thai. Make sure to indicate the type of spice you'd like as they're happy to make it Thai spicy if you'd prefer. With coupons in the local papers, we can usually pick up a meal for two for $20 with leftovers for the next day. Their prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food served. The service was very good, but the food was mediocre at best. The crab rangoon had mustard in it, which I've never seen before and didn't care for and it was served with honey mustard. It was different, but it did seem like it was actual crab inside. The spring rolls were tasty. My wife's chicken satay she said tasted of freezer burn and wasn't good at all. My red curry was just mediocre. With all the reviews saying this place is great, I wonder if we've just been spoiled with really good Thai food in DC. read more

We decided to try somewhere new because it was just after 2:30 and most Thai restaurants close for a bit between 2:30-4:30 it seems. The hours posted here on yelp did not reflect that they would be closing. So we walked in 15 minutes before lunch was over. Regardless, the food was amazing, you should get the duck! The server was nice and not crabby that we were there so late. She politely told us the kitchen was about to close but did not rush us. We are in the restaurant business and know what it's like to have someone come in just before closing and take their sweet time. So we enjoyed everything in a timely manner and left. Can't wait to go back. The duck was great, had it in pangang curry and we also ordered dumplings and shrimp pad Thai. As stated in other reviews, don't let the strip center fool you. This place is great. Don't let the shoddy strip mall exterior influence your decision to not try this place. Honestly when we pulled up, my companion was kind of skeptical. The inside is super clean and nicely decorated, with aThai/Eastern feel to it. Our food was great and our server was very attentive. It's smallish inside and seems they do a lot more take out business then dine-in. That being said, it wasn't too crowded or noisy, the ambience was perfect. I've had a lot of Thai food in my life and am a harsh critic when it comes to the authenticity and taste of what's being served. My companion ordered the Pineapple Curry and I ordered the Basil Noodles. They were very delicious and we were impressed with the tastes of our dishes. I picked up takeout. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I got two appetizers. One was on the healthier side with veggies and shrimp/chicken in a wrap. The other was fried and was pad Thai inspired (my favorite) it was SO good. The food was ready on the earlier side of the range I was given. Everything I've ordered has so much flavor and I cant thing of a time I've been disappointed here! My husband swears they have the best spring rolls he's ever had! We don't dine in much (have a toddler so why torture ourselves?) but we get take out about once a month. Service is quick and efficient. In my fiance and I's quest for awesome Asian restaurants we decided to try Thai Town. It is fairly close to us and the reviews seemed promising. We started off with hot tea (which was good but the tea bag is just put in a cup and brought out unlike other places that use decorative teapots and sake cups...not a big deal but I prefer the tea pots so I can have several refills) and spring rolls. The spring rolls were larger than I expected and were good but seemed more like chinese egg rolls than the spring rolls I'm used to at thai places. I had the pad thai with tofu (my go-to dish) and my fiance had a seafood curry dish. Both were very good and had excellent spice levels (we prefer hot.) The service was very friendly and prompt. The price was reasonable as well. It's not my favorite thai place but it was still very good and worth checking out. I think when we go back we'll try a different appetizer. This use to be our favorite Thai restaurant. Then when the Pandemic hit I did a pick up order and the food was WAY wrong and the waitress wasn't wearing a mask. Fast forward to today. We were starving and our new fave Thai restaurant wasn't open yet so we decided to give them another try. Bad idea. We were the only customers. We walked in and smelled an awful smell. We looked at each other and kept sniffing then my daughter says "it smells like....poop!" About that time a baby screams and comes out in a walker. I said "they must've just changed that baby's diaper!" Lol! Gross! In a restaurant! No way they'd changed it in the bathroom either! Or maybe they just threw the fresh diaper in a trash can out in the restaurant!? Ugh. I'm done with this place now. read more

I ordered padthai in this place and It was dry. The next time i ordered a penang curry the zucchini is raw and the food was cold. It looks like they just put in the mi rowave for 1 minute. When i called them, the owner said just put it in the microwave so that the zucchini can be cooked!!! Is that the way they cook the food here? Everything in microwave? This restaurant is located in a dated-looking little strip mall. Don't let that put you off. Once you step in the door, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with wood paneling decorated with traditional art, glass tables with inverted tree root pedestals, and a little shrine on the wall abutting the kitchen. But it's the menu that's really the highlight. Of course, there are the usual sushi and red, green, and panang curry dishes. But though the menu may offer fewer dishes than you might see elsewhere, the choices are more creative and varied. I had the fresh rolls and tamarind chicken with broccoli. I was a bit surprised at the price of the fresh rolls -- $5.95 for two -- but when they came I was delighted. They were HUGE! So big, in fact, that I only ate one and saved the second one for breakfast the next day so I wouldn't be too full for the entreé. My wife ordered soup and fried tofu with mixed vegetables in brown sauce with some restrictions. All dishes were prepared correctly...and served with a smile. It took about 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order and that seemed to be standard fare here since there was seemingly no sense of urgency. The waiter seemed friendly enough with a couple other customers, but barely said anything to us aside from the bare necessities. It took another 20 minutes for our food to come out. The food was on the bland side for Thai and offered nothing but what one would expect from a frozen bag meal from the grocery store. I'd caution fans of good Thai food to trust the positive reviews here as I would consider this on the lower end of quality Thai food I have had in my life.
