I actually went to Famous Kahuku first but they didn't have any Squid so I remember that this Thai truck had really good green papaya salad. We went late on a Saturday so it wasn't crowded. I ordered Green Papaya Salad and Fried Calamari. The papaya salad was perfect, I wanted medium heat. I think we found a new favorite Thai place! Thai Zap was amazing. We usually go to another Thai food truck nearby but we saw the reviews for this one and had to try it out. Hubby ordered boring steak and shrimp for $13.99. It was predictable but that is what he wanted. Daughter ordered chicken fried long rice noodles (10.99) and that was a beautiful orange color and the taste was superb. I got larb gai (10.99) and it was really good. Not as pungent as other larb gai I've had but so delicious. Everything had fresh veggies including big chunks of fresh cucumber on the side. Portions were generous. I couldn't finish mine and I'm taking it home for later. The service was polite and prompt. We will eat here again. My only suggestion is to replace the plastic one time use boxes with eco friendly ones but I think that soon the whole island will have to do that. We decided to check out the other side of the sugar mill (the side that isn't as crowded), and this little thai truck didn't disappoint! The pad thai was just what one craves when they want pad thai. Rice noodles and flavorful "red sauce", fried egg bits, cooked in a BLAZING HOT WOK, that comes out with caramelized flavor you can only get under high heat. I got my pad thai with "medium spice" although i know that isn't authentic, it tasted very good nontheless. Since trying here, many thai places do not make the cut (specifically for papaya salad).... I order it with many chili peppers. And they use the actual pepper, not the flakes. Authentic and fresh. I tried their new location next door to Seven Brothers yesterday. There is no picture menu at this spot. I had ordered a pad ki mao initially. Less than a minute went by when I realized that I actually wanted a pad si ew because that's the one that has an egg in it. So I asked them to change it and the person that took the order said okay. A woman dining there started to inquire if they had served her a green curry by mistake because her dish had a green sauce and eggplant. The guy that took the order yelled out across the room that it was the same thing! He then disappeared into the kitchen and no one came out to address her concerns even though she said she had ordered a panang curry which she expected to taste more like peanut sauce. I stepped out and came back 10 minutes later and waited a few more minutes for my food to arrive. Knowing what I had overheard earlier, I should've have double checked my order before leaving but I didn't thinking what had happened with that lady was probably an isolated incident. However, when I got to the Kahuku beer garden to eat my food, I noticed that it didn't have any egg in it which is a key ingredient in pad si ew. I went back to talk to them about it but they said to bad and that they had made the dish already. After a few minutes of excuses from the guy that took the order, the cook came out and offered to remake it but I told them please don't waste this whole dish and to please only add an egg to the plate I was already holding. The guy that took the order did not want to take any responsibility for the mix up and insisted that I pay extra for the egg when I had already tried to be gracious and not insist on them making me a whole new dish. He was trying to influence the cook to be unaccommodating. He kept insisting that the dish was already made when I had asked them to make me pad si ew. I was flabbergasted. I explained that I just sat down and got up immediately to ask if it was okay to make the dish I really wanted. He either didn't tell the cook at all or the cook didn't want to accommodate me initially. Either way, I felt duped. Had I driven home, I wouldn't have realized that they tried to pass off my dish for the one I really wanted until 20 minutes later. However, I was still there around the corner and wrapped up my food and came back to try to get the dish I actually wanted to eat. If it was already made, why did I have to wait 15 minutes for it after putting in my request to change it? It was not to late to make a pad si ew. They just don't care if the customers get what they had ordered or not. I turned to the lady still dining there and asked her how they had handled her situation and she explained that they did not make the dish she had order either. She made a sour face while explaining this to me as well. I took a still picture of both our dishes from the video that I had recorded. If anyone cares to see the video say hello and I'll show how unprofessional and indifferent they were being. I could have and should have asked for a full refund as it was not what I wanted. Another thing I could've done was to asked for a dollar back for the missing ingredient! My friend bought food from another place and was already eating. Had he not been waiting for me at the beer garden and had I not been so hungry, I would've returned the dish. I gave up because now they were both being relentless. I went back to dine with my friend. However, every bite was excruciating and hard to shallow and left a bad taste in my mouth because I was still so angry by their attitude. I took three bites and stoped eating. If you don't care about what your a customers want to eat, eventually they will stop coming. There are several Thai places to chose from in this area. There is a Thai truck next to Ching's Market and Kaya's grocery store and at Polynesian Cultural Center. That being said, I will not be returning to this location nor the food truck that they also own nearby. When a customer is happy with you, they may tell a couple of friends and even take the time to express positive things about you on Yelp. However, when you piss one off as you did me, I will tell anyone and everyone sitting at a table near me about this horrible experience. I eat at a lot of the other establishments in Kahuku and sit at the benches provided. If Zero stars was an option, that's what I would give this place. read more

Legit Thai food for an even more legit price! We came here expecting the normal high price of food in Hawaii, and were pleasantly surprised by how much we got for $11 a plate. Good Thai food truck. I got yellow chicken curry. David got pad Thai with chicken. Both were very good, though my chicken was kind of small bits and the curry was a bit heavy. We also got summer rolls which were excellent though the peanut sauce was a bit thick. Service was prompt and efficient though a bit stern. I asked what spicy jungle curry was and was told it was red curry. And it differed from the red curry on the menu in some way? We'll never know. read more

Really disappointing. Curry was basically water-- both in flavor and viscosity. Rice clearly had been sitting in a rice cooker for hours and was severely over-cooked-- it would completely dissolve when introduced to the curry and turn to dust in your mouth. Want to support the business but it's just clear they do not care at all about turning out a good-tasting product. Panda Thai offers a much better experience and they're nearby. You'd be wise to just go there instead. I honestly threw away the pineapple curry i got from this place and got takeout from there instead. That's how bad this place is. read more

Still the best place for spicy garlic shrimp at north shore. These guys will load your plate with butter garlic and tons of garlic in the sauce on your shrimp and your rice. These guys may not have their own shrimp farm but that's OK. their pork on the stick is also good with the peanut sauce. read more
