Update: I ordered delivery thru Door Dash again recently to be surprised this a franchise of Thai Away Home as it is not a ghost kitchen as ordered the chicken red curry, it was also pretty good, but surprised the name changed. I ordered take out and was pleasantly surprised as the veggie green curry with tofu and eggplant and pad see yew with veggies both pretty good as they made it spicy as indicated. This appears to be a ghost kitchen so it is take out only via the delivery apps. The green curry is with green curry paste with coconut milk, bamboo, red bell peppers, peas, jalapeño and Thai basil. The pad see yew is stir-fry thick rice noodles with Chinese broccoli and egg in sweet soy sauce. I would order both again except do wish restaurants would offer tofu options without being fried. read more

Personally not my most favourote veggie, but the sauce made up for the abundance of orange. Definitely fresh & good mixture of cashews & sauce taste. Chicken was moist & cooked well. Very tasty Thai food with plenty of vegan options. One of the better Thai spots in town. Vancouver's Thai restaurant scene isn't the greatest compared to its many other great Asian food offerings (Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Indian in particular). We had somehow neglected this place. But after seeing how vegan-friendly it was, we decided to give it a shot. I phoned in an order of 3 dishes and it was all ready 20 minutes later. We got: -Panang Curry, with tofu, made vegan, at max spiciness level. Rich, complex and well-balanced with soft tofu, red and green peppers, onion, basil and lime leafs with a decadent curry sauce. Amply spicy and hearty. Wonderful. 4.5/5 -Pad Kee Mao, with tofu, made vegan at 3 out of 4 spiciness level. Sadly, this was made with the thinner rice noodles that are usually used for Pad Thai -- this dish is supposed to have the wide noodles -- oh well. Otherwise, this was well-made, with plenty of veggies and deep fried tofu. Nicely spicy and flavoured. 4/5 -Black Pepper Veg... well, this is what I tried to order but it seemed more like a spicy, tangy and sweet mixed veggie dish with pineapple. When I arrived at the restaurant, "Sweet & Sour Veg" was on my bill; I told them I ordered the "Black Pepper Veg", and they told me not to worry, as they just didn't have the computer item for it. Well, turns out the my did mess it up. Definitely not what I wanted but I guess it was well-made - wouldn't recommend this one. 3/5 Each dish was roughly $15 plus tax, and the portions were quite large, leaving plenty for another meal. Service is excellent our server is female and a bilingual,she is very friendly she laugh out loud when i say"please put 10 chilis in my order" Busy dinner time when we came so it takes a while for our foods to be served. Quality of the dishes is excellent,this place can surely rival other place that serves similar dishes. We had beef and chicken,the aroma of the food made me more hungry,my first bite was really good,the blending of flavors in my dish is superb,meat so tender and veggies were half-cooked just the way i like it. Huge serving that i need to bring home almost half of it. Pricing is reasonable actually i can say that money is worth in this restaurant.Soda is by cans not the pop fountain one. Interior design is Asian inspired,wifi is powered by shaw and forsome reason it doesnt work on my phone.Because of my yummy meal i cant remember if they have TV. A place that accept credit and debit cards plus cash. Good for Family and kids friendly. This was my first time here. There was only one person on shift for the front and I felt so bad! He was really hopping to get the job done. For the service from him alone I would give a 5-star. Never heard of that, but either way...maybe mention it so I could have bought a side of it for a couple bucks??? Now I have a tub of curry I will have to bring home. Basil with chicken. I paid full price for 3 Thai curries (2 yellow and 1 red) I do like the curry but I'm disappointed at the amount that they filled for the 2 today! The 2 yellow curries I ordered with no carrots and potatoes) since I've been noticing they load up on the potatoes and carrot and so when I remove all of that it's literally very little sauce and chicken) So I decided to say no potatoes. But they charge me full price! And decided to give me less? Like how cheap is this place? And they ask for tip on the machine but also have a tip jar?! I wish I didn't even tip this place as I came home and saw the lowball amount! Don't charge customers the whole amount and then take away when they don't want an ingredient! I got the chicken Pad Thai to go via Uber eats and it was so delicious. The noodles were perfectly coated in tamarind sauce and the texture of the noodles were nice and chewy, not too soft or hard. It came with large chicken pieces, nice amount of egg but I wish there were more tofu pieces. It also paired really well with the crushed peanuts and limes. It was also really affordable and I hope to try more items on the menu! read more

Thai food and hipster-ish coffee at the same time. Quite the interesting combination. Parking is available along Hastings and Nanaimo outside of rush hour. Otherwise there are the side streets. The inside is more like a takeout place, with the refrigerated racks of pop and desserts. They probably cater a lot to the local lunchtime crowd. Staff seem to be mostly Thai. Special mention goes to whoever drew those Thai deity figures on the chalkboard wall. So pretty to look at. The menu contains many typical thai dishes, such as noodles and curry. Pricing is in line with the competition, which is unfortunately not the cheapest. Basil spicy noodles with pork - very nice. Sweet with a bit of heat. They do ask for the spiciness level, and it's tuned to North American palates. Quite delicious, but the portion was a bit small for $11. I could probably eat 2 of these. Maybe 3. Thai chicken satay - nice snack, with the peanut and vinegar (with onions) sauces. Pricing is pretty steep, at $9 for 4 finger-sized skewers. Red curry noodle again, very nice mix of flavours. I didn't try the coffee, but my buddy (coffee connoisseur) had one and he said it was pretty good. It's hard to find a good Thai place in town, but I think we have a winner here. With that said, I would be here a lot more often if their pricing was a few bucks lower. read more

Surprisingly good little Thai joint in a strip mall. Don't let the decor fool you. Though it appears more like a boba tea establishment with all the bright lights and pastel colors. They do, at least based on my one visit serve some legit food. Last Saturday my buddy Dave and I popped in after being a little disappointed at some very bland fish and chips in Gastown earlier in the day. I ordered my go to when eating at a new Thai place. Gang gai which is Thai red curry w chicken (and yes in white but speak and read Thai and do so to eliminate the white gig versus Asian heat scale of 1-5 stars which can differ greatly depending on your appearance and how you order). Dave for Pad Thai and we shared some Tom kah gai soup to start. The soup was excellent while not having too much coconut milk which allowed the tamarind and fish sauce to pop. The Thai bird chilies were red and ripe and had been toasted quickly to scorch them prior to adding to the soup (something more places should do. Try it at home and you'll see. The quick blast in a dry wok brings the oils in the chilies forward and allows them to shine!). The galangal and tuneric were in large enough pieces to avoid swallowing chunks of either which was also a very nice touch. My gang gai arrived w a Thai iced tea smoothie (shaved ice so kind of like a tea slurpie. Genius!) and holy cow. The thickness of the curry gave away and I confirmed that they made their own red, green, and Penang curry pastes in house. Very uncommon and enviable to say the least. A very pleasant surprise and as their location is very close to my friends house a place we will go to again for certain. The only draw back is the menu does seem targeted to the lunch crowd as there are very few choices (I want to say maybe 9 total?) so you're not going to find a lot of variety. But combined w the quality of the kitchen and the value (they could easily charge $3-4 more per entree and I wouldn't blink!). I can see them succeeding for years to come. Oh! I nearly forgot. Our server. A very nice Thai man in his what I would guess was early twenties was the epitome of an excellent server even though he was the entire front of house at the time we came in. So far this is my place to go, bold dishes, great portions, lovely service and a small business you want to support. The food is quite close to what I tasted in Thailand ( I am not Thai so I do not feel is my place to claim this is "authentic" food or not) and the place is cozy and the food arrives to your table in a blink. read more

I was craving Thai a few days ago, and this place popped into my mind. I've seen it around but I haven't actually gone in yet! So, completely starving, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken; apparently, it is cheaper if you get it as a lunch special but I got there a bit too late for that. Still, I didn't really want anything else on the menu. The restaurant itself is small and has minimal decor; there is a place where you can get your own water and a display up front featuring baked goods and ice cream. The food came fairly fast as I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. Presentation was great, though because the peanuts were on the side mixing was a bit of a hassle. Also, the lettuce might have looked good on the plate but... Didn't taste too good because it was just really, a hunk of raw lettuce. I also ordered 4/5 spicy but it was barely so. Kind of pointed out that the general customer who went here was probably that of a foreign audience. Thai food is usually much spicier, so I was slightly disappointed. I've been in numerous time ever since they've renovated and let me tell you their Thai Ice Tea is really good especially when they put whip cream too (not sure if that's the traditional way but it's good). This is like my go to place for Thai Ice Tea for $3.75 each. It's in a 16oz cup so it's decent size like as though you were to go to a bubble tea place. I've been here for lunch and dinner which their menus are very similar just a few dollars difference. I have the pad see ew and their Thailicious fried rice. I have to say I'm a fan of both. I had the pad see ew for lunch and it comes with a side salad and deep fried wontons. It was like two lunches for me and I believe it was $12.00. As for the dinner for the Thailicious fried rice, it came with salad too and that was $15.00 because it was dinner and once again I split it up where I had lunch the next day too. Let me tell you their service. I believe this lady is the owner and I feel like she recognize me now as the thai ice tea girl (always get it when i'm there). She's like a mother that makes sure everything is to your liking. I told her I had a sesame allergy and she told me they put it in the sauce for their salad. She quickly replaced it with chicken skewers which my fiance end up eating just cause he loves it. The other time when I'm in and is the other ladies that work there who take your order, you may or may not get the same type of service. In fact, it may even be hard to get a smile off of them cause they are busy running around. It's like one person that takes orders in the restaurant while picking up the phone, packing deliveries away, taking out your dishes and making your drink. Overall, a place worth a try if you happen to be in the neighborhood. It does have a small menu so don't expect a lot of things going on. I feel like they are still trying to revamp things that people will like. My one suggestion to them is they should have a combo that offers a drink and dish for X amount. read more

Vegans of east van... this is where you should get your Thai! I always order from Thailicious through justeat.ca - sometimes I have to wait up to an hour, but other days like today, 15 minutes later I hear the doorbell. I always put in the note section "completely vegetarian, no fish sauce, no shrimp paste, no eggs" and get the most amazing pad thai, thick red coconut curry, and green papaya salad. They even called me tonight to ask if I wanted rice with my curry since I didn't order any (I make my own).... but how thoughtful! The smoked tofu in the pad thai has a strong flavour and I'm not sure if I would like it better unsmoked but... I will continue to order from Thailicious! read more

I found Thailicious on Yummyweb the other night and decided to place an order for delivery. The lady on the phone was very polite and friendly and made sure to ask me how spicy each individual dish should be! I was told it would be about 45 mins to an hour. The food showed up pretty quick! We found it kind of odd that the cashew chicken and the chicken curry for my friends didn't come with rice, so next time we'll just have to order it on the side. The spring rolls were AMAZING. Nice and thick and crunchy and hot. Sooooooo delicious! The Pad Thai was alright. I've definitely had better but maybe it was kinda "meh" because I only asked for mild spice. I'd absolutely be willing to try it again, but I think next time I'll ask for medium spice. Aside from the lack of rice issue, everything was pretty good. The best Thai food I have found in Vancouver yet. A group of friends and I ordered a silly amount of food to be delivered last night and everyone in the group was stoked! The spring rolls are crunchy and tasty (not too greasy) and the calamari appetizer was delicious. The massaman curry with peanuts and potatoes is super creamy and rich, so only choose this one if you want something decadent. The green curry (the true test of any Thai joint!) was spicy and flavorful and full of plenty of bamboo shoots (yum!). The Tom Kha soup is creamy and sour just like it should be. It took about an hour to be delivered but we ordered a shit ton and it was a rainy Sunday night, which is like prime time in the home delivery world. read more

We arrived on a Monday under the auspices of one of Vancouver's rainy wet days. We were cold and hungry, and after a wrong turn in the neighborhood, scarred from the preponderance of methadone clinics we encountered on our ill-advised walk. We decided to order food in and refuel, all the better to run if need be later (most of Vancouver is lovely and very safe, for the record). Thailicious required no phone number for delivery, which was good, as neither of our phones worked internationally. We placed our order online, sent it out into the dark abyss of the online food delivery world, and prayed. 30 or so minutes later, our food arrived. It's Thai delivery, so food-wise, it is what it is, but it was heaven to us. In comparison, we tried ordering late night pizza from two separate pizza places the following two nights, and our orders still remain in limbo, perhaps for all of eternity. read more

If you are ordering Thai downtown or in East Van you should be ordering from here! The prices are are really decent to begin with, I'm always shocked at how much food I get for the price. Portions are generous and they time your order well so items even as time sensitive as calamari and tea make it to you pipping hot. I love spicy food in general and specifically spicy thai food so I appreciate the fact that the spice levels are actually true to tradition. Be careful though if you are sensitive to spice, don't push it. All in all great Thai delivery at a decent price, with prompt service. read more

It seems this business recently changed hands...we went to pick up our order and found their kitchen at a new location. The staff there were completely disorganized, the place was a mess....while they were looking for our order we got a call from the delivery driver that he was at our building....he went & did his other drop offs & met us at our place. We ordered prawn pad thai, spring rolls and beef currie...the spring rolls were disgusting, saturated with oil and soggy...though amazingly still hot...the pad thai was way overcooked, understirred as the sauce was not evenly mixed in and also very greasy....the beef currie was reportedly the same as before. Moved by Hoot's review, we gave Thailicious a whirl tonight. Totally enjoyed the food although the chicken satay was a bit dry and the hot level (both temp and spice) was inconsistent between dishes. We chose medium spice for all and ordered all at the same time. Over the phone and at the door the service was cheerful and adept. Well priced at less than $50 for two including tip - there's plenty in the leftovers for another meal to boot. read more

I discovered Thailicious on JustEat.ca while trying to decide what to order in for Valentine's Day (because I'm classy that way), I almost always order from Mali Thai, but wanted to try something different. It took about an hour for my food to arrive, which kind of bugged me seeing as they have a delivery charge in place as well. If I'm going to pay, I'd hope it'd be faster than that! However, the driver was really nice and sweet and when she realized that there was egg in my Pad thai, which I specified I didn't want, she was very apologetic and put my address in their system to give me a free credit! I'll gladly pick around eggs in order to get a free dish in the future. Next time I'm craving curry, mmmm... The food was good. The vegetarian spring rolls are big and fat and crispy and full of many tasty wonders, and they come with a special spicy dip. Yummm! The pad thai was full of eggs so I didn't really have a great experience, but that is just personal preference so I can't really judge. All in all, A-OK! read more

Generally I find ordering takeout a disappointing experience. I always have high hopes for delicious food fast when ordering, but get bland, lukewarm, unattractive food upon arrival, usually well past the estimated delivery time. I am happy to report that Thailicious is an exception. At 6pm on a Friday night I placed an order for (1) Spring rolls, (2) spicy crab fried rice, (3) spicy basil noodles, and (4) red chicken curry. Less than 45 minutes later I had piping hot food delivered at my doorstep with a smile. As others have noted, the spring rolls are excellent -- crunchy with a lot of filling. The crab fried rice and basil noodles (which I requested to be "hot" on the spice scale), were pleasently spicy and I would have no hesitation ordering again. The red chicken curry was a little lacking in substance (could have used some more chicken and veggies), but the flavour was spot on. Prices were a little higher than some of the other delivery spots but the quality was better and, overall, the portion sizes were generous --- 2 of us managed to squeeze 2 dinners and 2 lunches out of this order, which came in at $43 after tax and tip (though we used a coupon for $8 off with orderit.ca). This is definitely the best delivery experience I've had in Vancouver and I will be ordering again soon! read more

Order over the phone, they regularly have specials ($ off, free rice), delivery's prompt, and the food is dependably delicious. Wanted to give this neighbourhood place a try, and it will be the first and last time I order delivery. Ordered the appetizer tofu - the tofu was soft and not crispy at all, and I'm not sure if they ran out of tofu and threw in some random veg or that's a normal thing but it happened. Had some battered green beans, broccoli and carrots which were better than the tofu - but if you have allergies I don't think this is the right place for you. Ordered the fish salad - sounded delicious and it was the worst dish out of them all. It's not a salad it's pieces of soggy fish with three pieces of lettuce and onions. And the Chefs special crab rice was anything but special. For vegetables they used what looks like the frozen peas, carrot, corn medley and the rice is mushy and over done and there's a severe lack of Thai flavour. It kind of tastes like rice microwaved with whatever leftovers are in the fridge. The delivery guy was very nice. 3 items plus two cans of pop $40. Not ever again. It was another Friday night after a long week and we found ourselves in the dilemma of being hungry and lazy--ugh! To top it off, it was getting late and the meal we put in the oven was still frozen after an hour! (Don't ask!) So we decided to order out. Thailicious was a place that a friend recommended but the reviews made us wonder if we'd be waiting a few days for our delivery...we tried it anyway. They only do take out or delivery, so this was an ideal choice for where we were at that night. Given the previous reviewer's comments about the online ordering glitches, we decided to go with calling in our order. We ordered the spring rolls (based on previous positive reviews), cashew chicken, and the chicken with sweet basil, along with two orders of rice...then we waited...for about 15 minutes...then the door bell rang. We thought a friend was dropping by for a visit. It was the Thailicious delivery person! Food: The spring rolls were crispy and fresh. The sauce was very sweet and had peanuts on it. The cashew chicken and sweet basil chicken were both fantastic. The cashew chicken had freshly grilled peppers and onions in it and the gravy was just right- not too heavy or sweet. Spice: The spices are 1-5 stars, we ordered one dish at a 2, which was moderately spicy and the second dish was a 3, which was very spicy. Price & Portions: The online pdf menu said that they have free rice special with entrees ordered after 7pm, but when we asked they said they no longer do that. Meal prices are fair, coming in at about the $10 range. Know that entrees do not come with rice, so add $1.50 to every meal if you want rice. The rice is a small cardboard carry out box full so I'd suggest one per meal. Between the rice and the amount of food, we made two meals out of every dinner. Earlier posters noted that they were small portions, I don't agree. They were definitely smaller than you would get in the US, but they weren't skimpy. They were fair. Overall, the flavours were great, the delivery very quick, and the price was right. I'd definitely order from here again and would recommend it to friends. read more
