We ordered 3 items for take out. Chicken pho, hu tieu bo kho and their version of Hainan chicken. We enjoyed all 3 items. My favorite would be hu tieu Bo kho. It's with thick flat rice noodles in beef stew. The beef was so tender and the stew was flavorful. One of the best that I've had. Their chicken pho was fragrant and decent portion of chicken. The chicken rice was nothing special. We waited in the car and the lady was super nice. She brought the food out to us. The food was carefully packaged and intact when we got home.

One of my family's favorite places to eat in the area! We love that they have a table outdoors so we can bring our dog. Sometimes we have to wait for a party to finish eating there since there is only one table outside. We are a big fan of their chicken salad and crispy rice as well as their roasted chicken. My boyfriend got the beef stew which was tender, but I would stick to the chicken. The restaurant is also known for their bun rieu and it sells out around the afternoon. Will need to try it next time!

Hands down the best pho/com ga & bun rieu in OC. Tastes and feels like home, very comforting delicious food. They have all the flavors down to the broth, seasoning & sauces. Family owned business, they are the sweetest family. This place is a must try ! I love it !

Chicken dishes were decent just pricey.

Chicken was good and fresh . The prices were really expensive however for what you get.

Came across Pho Hong Hung after a friend recommended it for lunch and I am glad she did. Located at a tiny strip mall along Brookhurst this small restaurant offers both inside and patio dining. We picked the following from the menu. Spring Rolls, which were very fresh and delicious. The peanut sauce which came with had a nice kick to it and I absolutely love it. The Egg Rolls were also nice but I had better to be honest! My steamed chicken breast and thigh was very tasty and quite a generous portion! The side of rice was different from what I ever had and imho just okay. Overall this was a great lunch and I most definitely would return. 4.5 stars for reasonably priced and delicious food plus friendly service. I'll be back. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

This is my go to spot for Phở Gà, the broth is consistently good and flavorful, not greasy at all. This place does get crowded during lunch hour so be sure to get here early. The restaurant is very small maybe can only fit 12 people inside and 4 people outside. Price wise, expect to pay about $20 per person after tax and tip.

Hole in the wall Vietnamese food and absolutely delicious! Like many, I tend to stick to my regular Vietnamese restaurants. However, we decided to venture to a new location today. Initially we thought the place would be known for pho from the name. When we got there we learned they specialize in bun rieu, chicken pho and crispy rice with chicken. The parking lot outside is relatively small. I image if you come here during a weekend it might be tough to find parking. There are a few tables inside and outdoor seating is available but limited as it's a small restaurant. It's your typical hole in the wall. Environment is not fancy nor super clean but the food is great! Chicken pho- great broth and the chicken was good! Crispy rice with chicken - they ran out of rotisserie chicken so we got the regular chicken which is the same style that they put in pho. The rice was really flavorful. It needs to be a lot more crispy though. Thai dessert - also good! Lychee, jello, jackfruit mixed with coconut milk and ice. Very tasty.

2nd time at Pho Hong Hung. I ordered the Com Ga with Salad and Crispy Rice. It was Perfection. Served with ginger fish sauce on the side and it is a match made in heaven. The rice, is chefs kiss. I will def be back to try other things on the menu. Honorable mentions: -Closed on Tuesdays -Accepts credit card -Parking is easy in this lot

Highly recommend the Chicken with crispy rice. (com chay ga dui )

This spot was recommended for the crispy rice chicken and it did not disappoint bc I love burnt crispy rice and the ginger sauce was really good. We ended up ordering 5 Togos to share with family. Our server says they specialize in bun rieu so we had to try that as well. Their bun rieu reminded me of Vietnam when I was there last year. Soup was very flavorful, better than most places I've tried. The chicken salad was good too. We also tried the mi ga roti (roasted chicken w/dry noodle). That was our least favorite dish, the sauce didn't match with the noodles and and the chicken didn't have much flavor. I thought it was better with the ginger sauce that came with the rice. The gentlemen who served us was patient and accommodating. Will def come back for more crispy rice chicken.

This supposed to be a pho place but their chicken rice is what caught my attention. It's Vietnamese style chicken rice that serves with fish sauce, Vietnamese mint and pickled mustard greens. So it's not com ga hai nam but just really good com ga. The restaurant itself is small so I always get it to go, the chicken texture is chewy and not bland with yellowish shiny looking skin. The chicken rice dish is very well put together. Only wish it had more chicken so I usually get extra chicken on the side. I also tried the bun Rieu and pho and they were both decent but I'd come here for the com ga.

    Bánh mì Chảo

New on the menu - Bánh Mì Chảo. Everything are so good here. Bún bò xào, bánh mì/hủ tíu bò kho, bún thịt nướng.

Spring roll with actual mint and lettuce (: no cheap iceberg and bean sprout) 10/10

Tried the roast chicken for the first time, it was really good. Super crispy. My favorites to order is the chicken soup with glass noodle and the crispy rice with steam chicken. Don't forget to get spring rolls (:

I went on a Monday afternoon and there was a bunch of people waiting outside for a table. It's a small spot with limited tables but I only waited 10-15 minutes. I ordered the #1, Banh Canh Tom Cua Thit. Vietnamese udon with crab, shrimp and pork. I love the chewy texture of the thick noodles. The soup reminded me of Rou Geng Tang, a Taiwanese thick soup but is still considerably different in flavor profile. It was delicious albeit a bit bland so I had to add the lemon and fish sauce that's on every table. I also added a ton of the chili sauce which I absolutely loved. It's very spicy and has the flavor profile of puréed fresh chilis. Tread lightly if you don't have a high heat tolerance like I do. Overall, it's good, albeit a bit pricey for what it is. In each bowl theres two shrimps, generous with the pork, but didn't really notice much crab. Still one of top Banh Canhs in my books!

Service chill, can pay at register in the front, like typical viet restaraunt where they kinda leave you to it. The Grandpa's noodles was good (a dryer noodle), great portion, meat was tender, the radish cube looking things was crispy bits of pork skin. The menu is unique here and mostly in vietnamese. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family.
