    Bun rieu gone right
    Lilee N.

Came as soon as they opened for the bun rieu since they sell out by early afternoon. It was good. Lots of meat. Broth is just right. The veggies even include rau muong (the Vietnamese water spinach)! We also tried the crab appetizers. It's filled with real crab meat. Texture of filling was a little too soft for my liking but the flavor was there. The chicken rice dishes, I would say, are best. They take cards and Apple Pay but charge the 3% fee to the customer. They have a few tables for outdoor dining and a half dozen inside. Smaller place so large groups might be difficult. Take out would be fabulous or a family of 4 or meal for 2. You can order without knowing Vietnamese. Menu has photos. One of the servers speaks Spanish! Prices are fair!

Small cozy place Service is quick Food is amazing. An authentic Vietnamese experience

One of my family's favorite places to eat in the area! We love that they have a table outdoors so we can bring our dog. Sometimes we have to wait for a party to finish eating there since there is only one table outside. We are a big fan of their chicken salad and crispy rice as well as their roasted chicken. My boyfriend got the beef stew which was tender, but I would stick to the chicken. The restaurant is also known for their bun rieu and it sells out around the afternoon. Will need to try it next time!

Hands down the best pho/com ga & bun rieu in OC. Tastes and feels like home, very comforting delicious food. They have all the flavors down to the broth, seasoning & sauces. Family owned business, they are the sweetest family. This place is a must try ! I love it !

Chicken dishes were decent just pricey.

Chicken was good and fresh . The prices were really expensive however for what you get.

Came across Pho Hong Hung after a friend recommended it for lunch and I am glad she did. Located at a tiny strip mall along Brookhurst this small restaurant offers both inside and patio dining. We picked the following from the menu. Spring Rolls, which were very fresh and delicious. The peanut sauce which came with had a nice kick to it and I absolutely love it. The Egg Rolls were also nice but I had better to be honest! My steamed chicken breast and thigh was very tasty and quite a generous portion! The side of rice was different from what I ever had and imho just okay. Overall this was a great lunch and I most definitely would return. 4.5 stars for reasonably priced and delicious food plus friendly service. I'll be back. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

This is my go to spot for Phở Gà, the broth is consistently good and flavorful, not greasy at all. This place does get crowded during lunch hour so be sure to get here early. The restaurant is very small maybe can only fit 12 people inside and 4 people outside. Price wise, expect to pay about $20 per person after tax and tip.

Hole in the wall Vietnamese food and absolutely delicious! Like many, I tend to stick to my regular Vietnamese restaurants. However, we decided to venture to a new location today. Initially we thought the place would be known for pho from the name. When we got there we learned they specialize in bun rieu, chicken pho and crispy rice with chicken. The parking lot outside is relatively small. I image if you come here during a weekend it might be tough to find parking. There are a few tables inside and outdoor seating is available but limited as it's a small restaurant. It's your typical hole in the wall. Environment is not fancy nor super clean but the food is great! Chicken pho- great broth and the chicken was good! Crispy rice with chicken - they ran out of rotisserie chicken so we got the regular chicken which is the same style that they put in pho. The rice was really flavorful. It needs to be a lot more crispy though. Thai dessert - also good! Lychee, jello, jackfruit mixed with coconut milk and ice. Very tasty.

2nd time at Pho Hong Hung. I ordered the Com Ga with Salad and Crispy Rice. It was Perfection. Served with ginger fish sauce on the side and it is a match made in heaven. The rice, is chefs kiss. I will def be back to try other things on the menu. Honorable mentions: -Closed on Tuesdays -Accepts credit card -Parking is easy in this lot

Highly recommend the Chicken with crispy rice. (com chay ga dui )

This spot was recommended for the crispy rice chicken and it did not disappoint bc I love burnt crispy rice and the ginger sauce was really good. We ended up ordering 5 Togos to share with family. Our server says they specialize in bun rieu so we had to try that as well. Their bun rieu reminded me of Vietnam when I was there last year. Soup was very flavorful, better than most places I've tried. The chicken salad was good too. We also tried the mi ga roti (roasted chicken w/dry noodle). That was our least favorite dish, the sauce didn't match with the noodles and and the chicken didn't have much flavor. I thought it was better with the ginger sauce that came with the rice. The gentlemen who served us was patient and accommodating. Will def come back for more crispy rice chicken.

This supposed to be a pho place but their chicken rice is what caught my attention. It's Vietnamese style chicken rice that serves with fish sauce, Vietnamese mint and pickled mustard greens. So it's not com ga hai nam but just really good com ga. The restaurant itself is small so I always get it to go, the chicken texture is chewy and not bland with yellowish shiny looking skin. The chicken rice dish is very well put together. Only wish it had more chicken so I usually get extra chicken on the side. I also tried the bun Rieu and pho and they were both decent but I'd come here for the com ga.

    Steamed chicken with crispy rice
    Sharon N.

I was introduced to this place by my boyfriend's mom for their chicken and crispy rice. I ended up going and got exactly that. I got the Steamed Chicken with Crispy Rice. It came with a side of pickled mustard greens and garlic fish sauce for the chicken. It was absolutely delicious. It tasted like home and I was absolutely reminded of how my grandma used to cook for me lol. Definitely will come back. Be careful of the time you go though since this store closes early if they sell out and the restaurant itself is very tiny with limited seatings.

Spring roll with actual mint and lettuce (: no cheap iceberg and bean sprout) 10/10

Tried the roast chicken for the first time, it was really good. Super crispy. My favorites to order is the chicken soup with glass noodle and the crispy rice with steam chicken. Don't forget to get spring rolls (:

The wrappers had a nice bite, and the filling was juicy with that signature bouncy texture. We ended up ordering three bowls of Mì Sủi Cảo Khô, and everyone cleaned their bowls. The food was solid, but the service was pretty much nonexistent. The staff wasn't very friendly or attentive, although that's honestly something I've come to expect at a lot of places in Westminster. One thing that really stood out, though, was the condiment station. The chili oil, fresh chilies, and sauces looked dirty, and after tables were cleaned, the serving spoons and sauce dishes weren't replaced. I actually had to grab them from another table myself. Overall, I'd come back for the food because it was genuinely good, but the service and overall atmosphere could definitely use some improvement.

However, I'd encourage anyone who hasn't had the dish before to try it if you're a fan of a thick starchy broth and wonderfully chewy udon noodles. There are different meat options to go along with the soup - crab, pork, etc., or any combination of. There's also a "light" broth option which is less thick but equally delicious. Aside from the soup, the egg rolls here are deliciously crisp and crunchy as they're made with rice paper instead of the standard egg roll wrapper. The restaurant is a great example of a hole-in-the-wall that's 100% worth trying. Expect to wait 20-30mins to be seated during normal dining hours due to the low room capacity and popularity of the restaurant (the food comes out really fast though!).

It's super casual inside with a very local vibe, and the kind of place where you come strictly for the food rather than a fancy setup. They're super well-known for their Bánh Canh, and for good reason--the thick, chewy tapioca noodles in that rich, comforting broth are incredible and easily the main event here. But surprisingly, their Phở Đặc Biệt is also excellent. The broth is deep and flavorful, the meat cuts are generous, and it easily competes with a lot of the dedicated phở spots around Little Saigon. To wash it all down, their Vietnamese iced coffee is a must--super strong, rich, and gives you that perfect, intense sweet-and-bold kick. Just a heads-up that the line can get pretty long, and the wait takes a while since they seem a bit understaffed. But once you finally get seated, the food comes out piping hot.
