    BBQ Pork Imperial Rolls

Such a sweet what looks like a family owned Vietnamese restaurant in the outer Richmond. I haven't found Vietnamese food up to my liking in SF but really enjoyed this place and so far has been my favorite! Pricing is amazing and the amount filled me up! The service was super sweet too, the two workers were very nice and attentive, kept refilling water. They also have icecream for dessert! I'd come back and try more

Whenever the weather is cold, I'm always feeling for fun and found this spot in the neighborhood. The broth was very flavorful, and we got the rare beef. The noodles were in generous portion, and the medium bowl filled us. They don't have the beef combo with tendons tribe, and brisket if you're used to that. But for the rare beef and a quick meal, it tastes pretty good. The broth could be hotter.

Friendly staff, the soups here are served hot and are very flavorful. I had pho tai and it was the perfect portion, broth clean and anise-forward, and the beef was good! My partner had the won ton soup, her broth was so yummy, her face lit up at the first sip. We also shared imperial rolls that, although I enjoy eating it wrapped in lettuce, were also delicious, they are bite size so it's easy to eat and cool enough. They were also delicious. I will definitely be coming back some day!

I had this place saved forever and finally tried it. It's great! I got a medium house special noodle soup- hu tieu. So good! Flavorful and refreshing with fresh ingredients. The toppings were fresh too and the portion was perfect! The service was friendly and quick as well. Thank you Thanh Thanh cafe, I'll be back :)

We were going to another place, but ended up here. I would not say that this place impressed me. We ordered two entires and one appetizer. The appetizer is literally just a few pieces of tofu with overly sweet bbq sauce. I would not recommend this dish. However, the both entires, a rice plate and garlic noddles, are pretty good. We enjoyed them both. The place is cute, very old-fashioned and family style. I might not consider coming back, but if you are in the neighborhood, it's a cute place to try.

A kind & young gentleman took our order and gave us our food. Had the curry chicken noodle soup, banh mi, & shaken mushroom appetizer. Must try the shaken mushroom, I love shaken beef but this was so innovative. The texture was crazy good and flavorful. The curry chicken soup was almost addictive and the banh mi was packed. We tried to get banh just across the street but they were sold out already?? At ~1130am ..?? We're glad we found this place and possibly will be back!

2025 update. We came by to have some trued and tried good noodle soups. Thanh Thanh Cafe is always solid for that. They re-opened after a few weeks of being closed for summer vacation. Last time, it was pretty disappointing to see the closed sign and the outdoor chairs gone. It was nice to see they were opened today. We had the wonton noodles L $16.50, pho combo w/egg noodles M $15, pho combo L $17 and shrimp spring rolls $10.25. Everything tasted fine. Service remains excellent.

I have been on the hunt for good pho in SF for years. It was such a cold and rainy day, that hot soup was on our agenda. My friend and I found this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Below outlines what we ordered: Bun bo hue x2: 3/5, I had high expectations for this place, given the highly rated reviews, however it fell quite short from my expectations. The soup was quite watered down and you can clearly tell from the image that it was lifeless. It lacked flavor and most of all spice. BBH is known to have a harmious blend of many different flavor profiles from spicy, sour, sweet, salty, umami, with a strong lemongrass presence. It lacked all of that. In addition, the typical bbh has pork cubes and pork knuckle, but this one only had a few pieces of sliced pork and beef. I understand the cost to run a restaurant is expensive and labor + groceries are not getting any more affordable, however at the very least, the broth definitely needs work. Imperial rolls: 5/5, appetizer was great. i really liked the vermicelli noodles. It was refreshing when dipped in their ?house-made fish sauce. The imperial rolls were hot and can tell it was made to order. Of note: Tea was great and the Vietnamese coffee had a good condensed milk to coffee ratio.

Excellent service from the younger guy working the front of the house. He was super kind and attentive. I tried the vegetable noodle soup because I was interested in trying the vegan shrimp. I'm not vegan but that was a solid meal.

Update - Thank you Vivian for the positive message and support of my mistake. The bill was correct so this is a five star experience! I have updated the below review. Quality/Quantity - #19. Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli - Wow, this was AMAZING!! Not sure how authentic this is...? I have never had a version like this. Had a good kick/spice to it. Good. Huge pieces of romaine lettuce, but I was still able (barely) to eat it without cutting or biting it in half. House Special Noodle Soup - Ordered a large, but a medium came out. They offer to change the medium to large, but I knew my guest would not be able to finish. I was distracted as my guest wanted a drink/dessert from next door, Honey B Tea. Atmosphere - Small local business. Indoor and a few outdoor seats. Open 6 days a week from 9:30am to 6pm, closed Mondays. A clean organized unisex bathroom. Service - Good. The team checked up on us often. Very friendly and welcoming. Price - $35 + generous tip. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 2017. Don't worry, we will still be customers as your food is really good. :)

This place is so cute and my pho was flavorful. Their noodles also tasted fresh as well. We came here for restaurant week and we sat outside because we had an our little dog with us which was fine they were very accommodating. It's just two small tables that sit outside on the sidewalk but it's not that busy of a street where there's constant foot traffic so it was actually a really nice day to eat outside. Will definitively come here again. Their mushroom appetizer was so delicious as well as their spicy wontons.

Have to start out by saying this place was an awesome go to restaurant, I loved everything we had ordered and it was awesome to hear that we were the first customers to try there new dish, the wonton with chili oil ! Great tasting wontons with a little spice on top, although the picture has 3 wontons, it comes with 4 ! A well balanced and tasty appetizer, a dish to be ordered again. Great service and all staff were very nice. There were 2 outdoor seating tables and about 10ish tables inside the cafe. Great experience and can't wait to get back there !

I actually discovered Que Viet through DoorDash and had everything delivered. I ordered the Deep-Fried Imperial Rolls (Cha Gio), Grilled Chicken & Chicken Imperial Roll Garlic Noodles (Mi Top Ga Nuong Cha Gio Ga), Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls (Nem Cuon), Vietnamese Shrimp Mini Crepes (Banh Xeo Tom), and the Grilled Pork Sausage & Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong). Yes... I spent almost **$100 for two people**. Looking back at the receipt, I had to ask myself, *"Is this place expensive, or am I just fat?"* Honestly... probably a little of both. Either way, it was one of the best $100 I've ever spent. If it's your first time ordering from Que Viet, do yourself a favor and get the **garlic noodles**. I know garlic noodles are everywhere these days, but these completely changed my expectations. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible bounce, packed with rich garlicky flavor, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers (if you have the self-control). I also tried the **Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong** for the first time, and it did not disappoint. One heads-up, though: it's generously topped with crushed peanuts. My friend has a peanut allergy, so thankfully we caught it before digging in. If you have any nut allergies, be sure to mention it when ordering. Every single dish arrived fresh, flavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen despite being delivered. That's not something you can say about many places. If you ever find yourself in the city, you **need** to make a stop at Que Viet. This place has been living rent-free in my head ever since, and I already know I'll be back the next chance I get.

Some dishes were better prepared than others, but overall, the food was solid across the board. If you enjoy making your own spring rolls, you'll love the grilled pork skewers. The pork is super tender and has such a incredible flavor profile of lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and more. Rolled up with the woven vermicelli noodles and fried wonton crisps in a rice paper, you get a wonderful combination of texture in a single bite. The other crowd favorite of the night was the bánh xèo -- the stuffed rice crepe. The bánh xèo here is by far the best one that I've ever had, even surpassing ones I had in Vietnam. The outside was insanely crispy and and was surprisingly not particularly oily, while the inside was loaded with fillings. Two other dishes that were well received by the group was the betel leaf wrapped grilled beef and the sugar cane shrimp. The beef had a very similar flavor profile as the pork, but the texture was a lot more lean. The shrimp had a bouncy, yet firm texture to it, and was very well-seasoned. My only qualm with the shrimp dish is that the sugarcane did not actually have any sweetness to it. There's fish sauce on the table along with a shrimp paste sauce, but to be honest, every dish we had was so flavorful on its own, the sauces aren't even needed. The only dish that we ordered that fell short was the grilled river shrimp. The presentation of the shrimp is impressive and very photogenic, but the flavor was lacking and the cook was inconsistent. Some people had shrimp that was undercooked -- borderline raw, and on the other end of the spectrum, others had shrimp that was so overcooked, that it was very difficult to remove the shrimp from the shell without completely tearing the meat. That said, everything else we ordered was well-prepared, and very tasty. Service was good throughout the meal, and I would definitely come back again for a meal with a large group. 4.5 experience rounding up to a 5.
