Grilled Salmon Fillet
Aubany G.

For years this place was my lunch spot on most days during the work week when CPMC CAL Campus was open. Truly a Mom and Pop spot and the love they put into the food is evident. I crave it often and sometimes our department, that is now at the Davies Campus, will get a big order together and someone will pick it up. It's always a treat. Some of my earliest memories in SF were sitting in this cafe. It's truly a nostalgic place for me. Most days the Salmon plate sells out, so if you see that they have salmon available- order it! You can't go wrong with any soup or sandwich or salad and never skip the opportunity for their fried rolls! If you make this a destination for lunch, it'll be worth it. They crank out a lot of pickup/to go orders but dining in sometimes just feels comforting to me in this cozy spot that's tucked into this PAC Heights/Laurel Village area.

Inside looking out

I was looking for a place to buy lunch while waiting for my dad at SF Endoscopy. Parking is very hard here. Busy streets and busy businesses. Meter parking if you don't mind paying. Residential parking is 1-2 hours. It's a really cute and simple cafe/sandwich shop. The lady asked if I want to come back or wait. I told her I'll wait. I'm not in a rush and take her time. When she was done with my sandwiches, she called out for me. She was really sweet. I order 3 sandwiches- -pork bahn mi -chicken bahn mi -tuna melt Pork bahn mi had a lot of meat, juicy, tender and a bit fatty which was perfect balance for bread condiment meat portion, just a bit salty. Love they use an Italian toasted bread. I do not like the regular French baguette bread. Chicken bahn mi was perfect! Literally perfect! Tuna melt was kind of disappointing. There wasn't much flavor. Huge chunks of meat but no flavor. My dad mixed half the tuna with his chicken sandwich and said it was much better together. I would come back if I'm over there to try the other sandwiches and salads. Their prices are very reasonable for their sizes. You won't have to worry about breaking your wallet.

It was my first time here and I went with a BLTA. Very kind staff and very tasty quick food!

pork belly banh mi - Soft crunchy bread with thick cuts of pork. Super flavorful. One of the best I've had in the city!

Irving Subs - Giants sub ... Love it

Mr.Happy is my favorite thus far. It's packed with fresh ingredients and enough to feed one hungry Mr or Mrs. You'll sure be happy after this meal. What's even better is that they have a dining area next next door. It's clean and filled with games if you just wanna hang out.

The sandwiches are creative and well balanced. There is always a harmonious balance of ingredients. The Ms. Spicy is wonderful, as the Tajin spice is unique and adds to the flavor. Alma's Hot and Spicy was also a winner, as was the Giants. Kudos for having simple sandwiches with the option to make as weird and customizable as is reasonable! I have only ever gotten delivery because it is far away, but I am very happy with the accuracy of the orders and artistry in each sandwich. Thank you!

I met here with a friend, and inside is similar to a corner store. They have shelves of pantry items. There is also indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the front, and I learned that the sandwiches are prepared at a different location. I was unable to ask for a bread substitute due to this, so it is good to keep in mind that asking for changes may be difficult. I enjoyed my sandwich at the park, and it was good! The tuna had a bit of heat, and every bite had lots of flavor. It was a bit of a heavier sandwich with the oily focaccia and potato chips. I'm happy I was able to try it!

I should have gotten a whole one to eat, but my cholesterol wouldn't be too happy, haha. Got a 1/8 slice of the meat. My wife had the pimento cheese with pickled okra. The meat one was SO good, and the bread is out of this world. We got a mushroom one to go- put it in the oven for 350 WHILE WRAPPED and it holds up really well. The olive spread is spicy, briney, fantastic, and the meats are delicious. Order at the counter, they bring it to you, but it's small inside, and people have dogs for some reason :/ . While I didn't get selected for tickets to the PGA Masters Golf Tournament, that's not going to stop me from making pimento cheese sandwiches at home. Sandy's sells this in a cup, pint, and I believe a quart size. I got a cup ($9) of their pimento cheese, and paired it with milk bread at home, and it was so tasty. Great texture, slightly spicy, really solid pimento cheese. A cup was enough to make 3-4 sandwiches at home. Great staple to have for a quick lunch at home. Egg salad, I got the pint ($16), this was really solid too, although I added some additional salt and pepper to taste. The pint is great for family, easily can make 5-6 sandwiches with the amount of a pint. Honestly a cup order would've been good for me. Egg salad is one of those things I don't want to make myself, so thankfully Sandy's sells theirs lol If you are looking for an affordable way to make tasty sandwiches at home, and like egg salad and pimento cheese like me, definitely worth checking out to satisfy the craving. They have them packaged up for take home, so was able to get in and out in less than a couple minutes.
