They have a lot of unique options which I appreciated and then your standards like pad se-ew and pad kee mao etc. The fish cake appetizers are really good with tons of flavor and the sweet and sour sauce was nice as it had chunks of cucumber and pepper in it. Do not order the salted crab papaya salad. It tasted like seafood gone bad. I didn't get sick from it but the taste was incredibly unappetizing and I did not eat much. The soft shell crab khao soi on the other hand was nice. The curry sauce was super rich and creamy. My only complaint was the soft shell crab was way more breading than crab itself. Visited my friend in Roosevelt and we decided to try Thaprachan for a celebration dinner. We were not disappointed at all!! As someone with stomach issues, being able to order just the pork belly skewers with sticky rice was perfect. They were moist and delicious, would absolutely order again. I was here last Saturday evening and notice the old menu with the Tapas is no longer offered. I liked the soft-shell crab tapa here. So we ordered the soft-shell crab pad thai. The crab may have been slightly undercooked (it was deep-fried) because the center felt a bit gooey, atypical of that type of dish. The food was not as remarkable as it used to be. First time I was there this summer, the food was fabulous! Soft-shell crab tapa was done right, which prompted 2 returns. The Khao Soi was good the first time too, and Pad See Yew was decent. This place is now on top of my favorite Thai places in Seattle. We came by here for lunch and ordered the Pineapple Curry fried rice, level 5 spicy; Khao Soi with soft-shell crab, level 3 spicy. The Pineapple fried rice was the best I ever had in Seattle. Full flavor with spot on spiciness, so good. The soft-shell crab is done perfectly. Sweet crab meat and the super flavorful soup was the perfect combo. There was 2 part of noodle, one part is a crispy ball and the other is cooked soft with soup. This soup reminds me of Thai street food right away. The waitress checked on us often to make sure we are happy and let us know about their fall special menu. The chef also explained how he designed the fall menu. We ordered the golden toast for desert and it is as yummy. We ordered a yellow curry with chicken with two sides of rice, pad kee mow with chicken, and pineapple fried rice with tofu. They ask that you rate what level spice you would like 1-5 (5 being the hottest). We ordered level 2 spice for each of the dishes and it was still a little bit spicy. There's also chili powder on the table for those who really like spice. All of the dishes we had were amazing and prepared well. And the prices are great. It was the best dish, super flavorful and the crab was super soft and well cooked. the tom sum tard (papaya salad set) was delicious as well with the chicken wings and their chili sauce as the star! the papaya salad was delicious but quite wet and spicer than the mild crab that we ordered. I've been meaning to try out Thaprachan for a while now and finally had the chance to this past Tuesday evening. My partner and I came in around 5:30pm, it was quiet inside but there were a few customers dining in. Thai curry is one of my favourite dishes to get but I wanted to try something new, so I had ordered the Khao Soy which was a curry noodle dish. The curry soup had a nice taste but I wished it was a little thicker. I also expected there to be more noodles in this dish, but that's fine since there were other ingredients like vegetables in the dish that I could keep eating. I'm glad I got to try out Thaprachan, and since it's not too far of a drive for me I would consider coming back again to try their other dishes (especially their mango sticky rice!). read more

This Thai restaurant offers a variety of tasty food and you have many great dishes to choose from. I decided to try their Crispy Spicy Chicken and I enjoyed it. The chicken was fried well and the amount of sauce to the dish was just enough. The offer more than enough chicken to the dish and by the end of it, I was full. There are like fried basil leafs and bell peppers on the dish and I had to finish all of it because of how well they all went together. We also tried the yellow curry which was good, but not that special. The servers were friendly and helpful. They provided good service and were patient with us. The food didn't take long at all to make. The ambiance provided a good setting with nice decorations. I enjoyed the wood designs throughout the store. The restaurant had local art displayed throughout the place which I thought was cute. Heads up, the parking lot is behind the restaurant. It's cool that parking is free, but there are multiple garage bins around there. I enjoyed eating here and I would come back to try their fried rice and pad Thai. read more

I love trying out small family owned restaurants. This one sure did not disappoint- great service and very authentic food. Aside from the Thai tea being a bit too sweet for us, we really enjoyed everything we ordered. The pineapple fried rice had great wok hei, wasn't greasy, and the chicken was nice and tender. The papaya salad was light and refreshing but don't go too wild with the spice level, it's spicy! We only got two stars, and it was already pretty intense for my husband, who usually handles 2 stars just fine at other Thai restaurants. The Luak Jim seafood had a really unique sauce--sour with strong lemongrass and (I think) a bit of fermented fish flavor. It's bold, but I liked it! We also really liked the creamy, sour sauce with a bit of a kick--it paired perfectly with the fried calamari. This place is yummy! I like the I pad Thai. I usually get it with shrimp, no eggs, extra sauce, 3 stars. I have received the noodles without the extra sauce as requested a couple times and the spice can also be HIT or miss depending on time of day. (If there isn't enough sauce the noodles become a block of noodles). Maybe certain chefs sauce and spice it up more than others. I have only had their food to go, so maybe in house it's different. I also LOVE their crab rangoons mmm. They're the best I've had anywhere honestly. I think they actually use a bit of real crab too so it just has more flavor than most. Small cute thai shop that serves up the Thai classics and street food. Was a bit pricey for the tapas/pupus considering the portion but the soft shell crab was dam good. Overall a decent thai restaurant! I liked the wide variety of dishes here that went beyond what most Thai places generally serve. I really liked the papaya salad, so refreshing and tangy and they also gave us a pretty big portion. The wings were a little flavorless and you definitely need the sauce (thai sweet chili sauce) to add some flavor and moisture. I'm glad I tried this place and would definitely be open to trying new dishes here, but when it comes to the classic Thai dishes I would probably opt for other Thai restaurants that are closer to UW. read more
