We had one of their rice salads with tamarind dressing that came so beautifully plated. The yellow curry with rock fish was a great balance and had a nice spice to it. We came here on a weekday evening and it's a cute little place in the neighborhood. There's a lot of dishes where it's hard to find anywhere else. We got the stewed pork belly and BAK-KUT-TIEW noodles. I really liked the pork belly especially the sauce it was in, I even used it for my rice. I thought the noodles were okay. The menu here is not your standard Thai menu and has lots of curry based items. It's more unique so if you're looking for something other than panang curry and pad se ew, this place has it. We ordered the lamb curry and hokien noodles. I thought the curry tasted a lot like Vietnamese Bo kho, which was fun. I couldn't taste the curry in the hokien noodles but thought it was very tasty regardless. However, the roti was over fried and more like chips. Unfortunately, portion sizes are extremely small where we ordered an entree each with Roti and a side of rice and walked away hungry. At the price point, it is not worth it at all. Shouldn't have to spend $100 dollars on dinner and then seek out a burger. As for service and ambience, service was nice but nothing special. This place slaps HARD. I came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm to a nearly full house of patrons. That flow did not stop throughout my stay here; when one party left, two more literally came in. It's dimly lit inside but the high noise levels inside imply a bar-like setting; there are some televisions around, and the overall decor is relatively colorful. All servers were very attentive when clearing tables, answering questions about the menu and just in general being very welcoming. I got their massaman lamb curry bowl with white rice, which took a little over 20 minutes to come. I didn't mind this since this was one of the best curry-based dishes I've ever tasted! The lamb was braised so thoroughly with curry, and lamb texture was tender and a little bit sweet. Curry had a ton of spices that tingled in my mouth and worked well with the lamb. Every bit felt like heaven, and that doesn't even come close to exaggerating how delicious this was. It was pretty easy to finish everything. This does come at a high price of $25 before tax, so I'd keep that in mind. I came here based on social media blowing up this place with its high ratings, and I'm glad I got to see that for this visit. This is one place I'd come back for despite the distance and the high prices on food, there's a ton of other dishes I'd give a try on a future visit! read more

There are 1,000 Thai restaurants within a square mile of Phinney Ridge. But this is the one you need to go to. I was hanging out at the bar getting ready to order with my friend, and the bartender handed us free nuts. They were not only a welcomed treat for a famished man, but it was the nicest thing that anyone had done for me that day. I won't forget you, Mr Free Nuts. You could tell that the staff here are genuinely excited to have people in their restaurant and to share this experience with everyone who walks through the door. Once my eyes locked in on the lamb curry on the menu, there was no looking back. My game plan was to potentially go splitsies with my friend who joined me (if he could be convinced), but it didn't work out that way since that lamb caught both of our eyes. This spice in this dish is incredible. I'm not talking about heat-spice, but a blend of flavor so rich and powerful that you will need to take a break to appreciate it. This is not a meal to slug down, but one to take each bite slowly and appreciate the depth of flavor. Rice is a needed accompaniment to balance out the curry itself, and because you need rice with everything anyways. But because I appreciate and respect bread of all types, I had to get some roti too. I've never seen it come in such a compact size, but wow it was delicious. It has a nice subtle crunch from being fried, but doesn't taste oily at all. This spot has been various iterations in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood, close to Green Lake and Woodland Park Zoo. It seems Thai food is ubiquitous, but I wanted to know what Southern Thai comprised and it was getting a lot of social media attention. So The Homie and I stopped in on 9/18/25. I really like the interior transformation, nice colors, textures, overall decor. The bar, counter seating and flat screens remained but blended in nicely. There is also the ability to peep into the open kitchen and dumpling prep area. Very polished wait staff and kitchen crew, no surprise since they are associated with long time Ballard restaurants, Pestle Rock and Sen Noodle Bar. We ordered Muu Gho, Lamb Curry (massaman), Hokkien Mee, and Classic Sweet Roti. The Homie also had a Thai ice lemon tea. I enjoyed the bold flavors of the dishes we tried. Definitely one has to appreciate the funk aspect from spice combos, fresh seafood, and thicker assertive curries. Great melding of Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malaysian flavors. I'm Thai so I always have high expectations for Thai restaurants. But this place I would give 10 out of 5 stars if I could. I don't see much Southern Thai food in the area, so this is new and exciting. They accommodated our 6-person reservation. The portions are on the smaller side, which let us try many dishes. I can say everything we tried was really delicious and authentic. The main highlight was MUU KHO. We had to order it twice. The spiciness level isn't really at the level of southern food you'd find in Thailand, but I understand why. Myself, from central Thailand, cannot handle the real southern spiciness either, so this was perfect for us. Service was great and very attentive. I am amazed by the lamb curry bowl. It is not your typical curry. The meat is perfectly balanced with the spices and the brown rice is the best I've had in this area. Saw an article in the Seattle Times about this place and decided to go with my co-workers. It was easy to make reservations and we went on a Thursday evening. We were the first party there but it definitely got busy as the evening went on. The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly, coming back to check on us enough but not overwhelmingly so. I appreciate the unique dishes that you can't get elsewhere. Imagine southern hospitality but in Seattle! My favorite was the braised beef belly! Good hint of sweetness and savoriness. Excellent. A real find. We stopped in for lunch and had the Karee puffs, the Hokkien Mee Chicken and the Khao Kouk Kapi. They were all tasty and interesting. Even the soup that comes with lunch had a depth of flavor that showed complex preparation. The Karee puffs I were delicious, sort of a Thai empanada served with pickled vegetables. The chicken had tasty noodles and a simple sauce. There were a few vegetables. The KKK was the star of the meal. It's a pyramid of fried rice and shrimp paste with fresh veggies and mango matchsticks that you stir together with a sweet sauce. We tried their Lamb Curry Bowl, Khua Kling, Hokkien Mee Chicken, Hat Yai Plate, Roy's Khao Yum & Fried Pineapple for dessert. I even got to meet the owner Pete. He was so friendly and bubbly I just love his attitude and such a wonderful host and owner. His smile is very infectious. He made the dining experience so much better. Also I got to meet his Mom who walks around to say Hi to everyone & his nice Sister who was the main Chef and her cooking is top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant. However, the service was still prompt, friendly, and the owner introduced themselves to us and was very personable. I enjoyed the atmosphere. We ordered a salad khaek, a bak kut teh (pork ribs soup), a phad thai, a Cha Shake (fancy version of Thai tea) and a roti. All dishes were quite good but nothing really hit the spot. I really looked forward to the pork ribs soup as that seemed like something authentic hard to find at other Thai restaurant, but it was a bit too sweet and greasy for my taste. I could tell that all the ingredients were high-quality though. For the price you pay, the quality is good but the portion is small, esp. for the Cha Shake Thai tea we got. I don't usually like leaving negative reviews, especially when the wait staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and efficient. They really did their part and made the experience pleasant from a service standpoint. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to that same standard. I ordered the pork belly, and it was surprisingly tough and lacked any real flavor, which was a big letdown considering it's typically such a rich and satisfying dish. The portion size was also extremely small for the price, which made it feel even more disappointing. That said, the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. The space is inviting, well-designed, and somewhere you'd want to spend time. This is an absolutely excellent Southern Thai restaurant. They are preparing dishes new to Seattle in an authentic way with traditional Thai hospitality. In the last month, we have been here three times and the food is so exceptional. Currently, they are serving the best fresh mango sticky rice imaginable. We have had this dessert many times in Thailand and their mango sticky rice is the best. Try this excellent restaurant and enjoy delicious food and wonderful hospitality.
