My wife and I were heading to the Hana Highway, and I needed something to eat somewhere along the way. That's a Wrap Maui opens early (9:00 a.m.), and they are very close to the WorldMark Resort where we were staying, so it was an easy choice to stop in here. They have a good selection of wraps, and I decided on the Jo Jo (roast beef, cheddar cheese, red onion (which I had held), tomatoes, horseradish sauce, and greens). I thought that $13 for a wrap was a bit over the top, but I didn't have a lot of options, so I paid the nice girl who took my order, and sat down at an empty table (which all of the indoor tables were, while several outdoor tables were occupied) to wait, and I received my wrap about five minutes later. I took the wrap back to the condo, tossed half of it in our cooler and the other half in the fridge, and off we went to Hana. We arrived in Hana several hours later (after making many stops) and stopped for a break. I half-expected my wrap to be kind of soggy after sitting in the cooler for that long, but it held up quite nicely, and the tortilla was still firm. The roast beef was good, but it was the horseradish sauce that stole the show. Much later that night, back in the condo, I took a couple of bites of the half I had thrown in the fridge, and it was still good. I actually finished the wrap the next day, and I was a little sad when it was gone. I have seen their truck many times & was so happy to hear that they opened a shop. Walked in already feeling the good vibes & greeted by the ever so friendly Gina. She explained the menu to me & mentioned that there are daily wrap, buddha bowls, & soup specials. I went with the honey girl wrap for me & the special meat wrap the Myra for my mom. Mine came with Turkey, green apples, brie, & arugula which I subbed for regular greens tossed in a honey vinaigrette. The Myra had cucumber, Turkey, tomato, red onion, with chimichurri mayo. They were both really tasty & fresh, both in a tomato tortilla, but I liked mine better with the sweet sour combo of the brie with the apple. The Myra was more of a savory wrap. The wraps were ready very quick & when I went back up to the counter to get them, the sweet gentleman at the front offered a tip of the best way to eat them to avoid the mess. Which he was right that as I got to the bottom, the sauce started coming out along with some of the greens. I got the caprese wrap, which was pretty good--a little on the sweet side, heavy on the greens and light on the cheese. I probably wouldn't order that exact wrap again, but I would be happy to try something new. My partner for the vegetarian poke bowl, which uses roasted beets in place of the tuna. Walking into this place is a delight and the food and service is too. Dolphin Plaza is generally touristy but this newish addition is a bright spot that is clean and inviting to visitor and local alike. I liked the modern beach feel to the decoration and the bits and bobs for sale were all really cool. Loved the artwork for sale as well. Gina and Josh the owners clearly care about their customers and serving up fresh ono foods. I look forward to working my way through the menu. It's a great place to pick up food for a beach picnic or a leisurely meet up with a friend. The menu is mainly wraps and bowls with enough variety to please and not so overwhelming that your brain hurts trying to decide. Very clean!The interior is so crisp clean and not too overly decorated (which I appreciate so much). The owners/chef are very informative. We didn't feel rushed ordering (thank you kind sir). Now about the goods: There's a fridge by the counter and it showcases the daily drinks they made, some pickled goodies too. We got a watermelon lemonade which was so delicious, you can actually taste the watermelon (not just a hint of it) My boyfriend got the mermaid bowl because he loves papaya, he demolished it. (Both times he ordered it) First time we went, we also ordered JOJO & GIGI wraps. (Yes we ate it all) plus a mango smoothie. The second time around, I ordered the vegan BEET burger (it's a wrap). The wraps are huge so I ate the other half for dinner and EVEN then, it tasted so fresh and so good that I had to write this review. Fresh food, clean place, good vibes and good people. Stopped for a quick lunch and the people working there couldn't be any lovelier. I was ordering for a 3 year old, my husband and myself. The cashier was more that accommodating and helpful. He even called my daughters lunch a mermaid bowl in front of her because we thought it would trick her into eating lunch (she is not a great eater on vacations). I had the Lotus Bowl on my first visit. It was so delicious I went back the following day and had the Peasants pheasant wrap. Wraps are made with fresh ingredients and are pleasantly large. The staff are very friendly and the service was great. Nice indoor seating and a couple of tables outside as well. my FAVORITE little hidden lunch spot in Kihei!! I used to live on Maui and would go at least once a week for lunch. It's family owned and the workers are always so nice and friendly. You can tell the community loves them as so many regulars were there when I'd go in. I like the wraps (i normally get the peasants pheasant) and the lavender iced coffee. The acai bowls are gorgeous and they always have yummy fresh muffins/donuts that are a perfect sweet treat. My friend just bought a condo about a half block away from this shop otherwise I don't think I would've found it but I'm so glad I did!!! It's my new favorite food spot!
