Today was our first time having lunch at this hidden restaurant. The food was delicious, loved that they have breakfast all day. First we tried the fried plantains wrapped in bacon and it came with with 2 different sauces and both were good. I had the hawaiian french toast with scrambled eggs and corned beef, my husband tried the cinnamon pecan french toast but we really didnt taste the cinnamon or pecan. After that we tried the chicken wild rice soup which was the best thing we tried!! you really gotta try the soup!! For dessert we had the fried caramel cheesecake which was also delicoous. This place is definitely worth checking out. My fiancee and I have been here several times for breakfast and recently tried their dinner. We have not been disappointed any of the times. Their breakfast options include the classic breakfast options, however I'd recommend trying the French toast ... any of the available French toast options. If you're looking for an inexpensive sit-down dinner, the time we tried it, it was pretty good. My better half got the 5 cheese lobster mac-and-cheese and I got the burger. The lobster mac-and-cheese was a bit too cheesy for me (.......), the hamburger however, was delicious. If you are looking for something new, but not exotic I'd recommend stopping in and giving it a try. read more

I've eaten here a couple times now and the service is really great. My waitresses have been very attentive, sweet, helpful, and had great attitudes. The first time I came here was around brunch time, and I ordered an omelette. It was very strange. All of the ingredients in the omelette were on top of the egg. That was a first. It wasn't very good tbh. But I have the feeling that was a one off. Maybe it was a new cook or something? Either way, at least the coffee was good. The second time more recently I stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with a caeser side salad. Oh my god it was so good! They totally redeemed themselves with that one. We just found this little gem yesterday when we went for breakfast. The 5 Spot serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day with a drive up window for take out. I had the Monterey omelet with fresh pico, sliced avocado, cheese and perfectly cooked bacon. I had my choice of breads and I went with the biscuit-they work with five bakeries to have the best bread and rolls possible. My side was home fries and in a short while I became a member of the clean plate club. Scott is the owner/chef and he takes pride in his food and his place. He brought out a buttered, toasted slice of special bread for us and I could have eaten a loaf! It's a husband and wife operation and you get that they truly care about every detail-hard to find and much to be cherished. The prices are really good and I had the best coffee I've had in Lawrenceville. Give this place a try and you won't be sorry!! read more

My husband and I visited this establishment today for the first time. We were greeted promptly and in our seats within 10-15 mins. We were given a brief history about their bread and they even gave us a sample. I ordered the pancakes with eggs and chicken sausage and because our sample bread was so good i ordered another (2) piece on the side. My husband ordered Hawaiian French toast with eggs and chicken sausage. Nice, calm, family friendly environment. The service was great, our waitress constantly refilled our drinks. The food was fresh and hot. The eggs and chicken sausage were delicious! I'm a big pancake person so i judge breakfast spots by their pancakes. I must say their pancakes were really really good! They hot and Fluffy and went well with their warm syrup. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his French toast! The service was a lil slow considering not many there. The decor of place was off. I can see what they were going for but missed the mark. Too dark. The signage is very odd. I had seen the restaurant sign several times. Never knew that's what it was until my map brought me here. Can't read it. I'm 49 not that blind. Bad choice for a font and size. Also there's was a half dead plant across from me. Throw it away. Or nurse it at your own house. People don't want to look at crappy plants when eating. My good was good. He didn't like French toast. I read the reviews only one was honest in the fact that these other comments praising this place are just victim to not have many good options because this food was absolutely gross. I ordered a omelette that was supposed to have cheese and bacon INSIDE of the omelette. They literally melted a slice of cheese ON TOP OF my omellete and threw some bacon on top of that. Was looking for a place with French toast and saw this spot. I think it's fairly new and used to be a different restaurant that I had wanted to try a long time ago. Tried the French toast breakfast dish with pork sausage and the steak and eggs. The French toast was toasted well and went perfect with syrup. The pork sausage was thick and meaty unlike other breakfast spots. The steak was good but not well seasoned. Best thing about this place, breakfast is served all day! read more

This is my favorite local place. We tend to order it on Sunday mornings for delivery. Highly recommend the cinnamon pecan french toast.

I am a breakfast girl and must say that I've been to probably every local breakfast restaurant. 5 spot is a welcome surprise! The food is fresh and tasty. Service is attentive and warm. If anything, I would say they should expand their breakfast menu to possible include some crepes, muffins, or pastries as alternative options. But that is just my opinion. The owner greets all customers at the door with a smile - 5 Spot serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The American-inspired menu has decent variety with prices ranging between $10-15. The staff is welcoming for the most part; however, if you are not a daily customer - you may be ignored at times. The quality of the food is superior when compared to other similar eateries as they use fresh, local ingredients. Nevertheless, the overall taste is average and at times can fall flat in terms of flavor. I personally tried the breakfast omelette, Meatloaf, and California Cheeseburger - no complaints but no rave reviews either. I will probably give them another try down the road. read more

I've really been glad that we live near 5 Spot Cafe. Any meal during the day is good there, but I am particularly fond of their pancake breakfast, which is my go-to. They offer gluten-free pancakes (and breads for sandwiches), which is important to me; it is also consistently delicious! Prices are very reasonable, and staff is as nice as family. The environment is comfy, and service is pretty quick (I think they've improved on service speed since my first visits in 2017). I also like that they have the technology to let you pay your check with your card at your table, so the card never leaves. Again, I'm very glad that they are around. read more

Food is super delicious, but not COVID-19 friendly. The waitress that first served us had no mask. We ask her about the mask and she said, "Yes, I know" with an attitude. She proceeded to not do anything about it. We then asked to switch out waitress because we weren't comfortable. The second waiter had a mask and was very pleasant. We have been here twice and there's another staff member that walks around with no mask. He also serves food to people, but mostly cleans tables. I won't be coming back till this COVID-19 is cleared. Husbands steak and eggs were good, but not worth a 30 minute drive. We will likely wait 35 minutes for a table at Apothecary next time. Never know until you try it. read more

This is the best kept secret I've found in this area! The food was really, really good and the owners are extremely caring and friendly. We had the macaroni and cheese, Hawaiian French toast, Chicken Parmigiana and the California Burger. Each and every one of us loved it... oh, and the blue cheese fritters that come on the steak salad are to die for!!! Oh, and the lemon crème cake... amazing!! This is probably going to be our "go to" - you can't go wrong on ANY menu item!! It's hard to decide :).
