I don't know if I necessarily agree that the drinks were happy hour prices ($9 a drink. +2 if you make it spicy) so I would recommend getting the pitcher option to get a bang for your buck, which is $27. I got there at the beginning of happy hour so the server was attentive. Things did start to pick up around 5:30, with more people coming. Food wise- I had the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the buffalo chicken bites. Both of those were AMAZINNNNG! Bathrooms were clean & classy, so that's always a plus. Over the several hours we spent at The Admiral, I ordered five Madras cocktails, all of which were well prepared. I did not order any food while at The Admiral (as we had just eaten lunch), but the menu is marked with allergen indicators, suggesting I may be able to eat there in the future. My friends and I were looking to grab brunch at a place with bottomless drinks that included beer and we found this place. I don't drink but their selection for bottomless was pretty good with orange crush, mimosas, beer and i bloody mary's (I believe). When talking to everyone at the table, they recommended to steer away from the mimosas and the bloody mary and go for the orange crush. I ordered the steak and eggs and it was a bit under-seasoned but nothing salt and pepper couldn't fix. The potatoes were extremely crispy too which I liked. The main reason for the two stars was service. Our waiter was pretty inattentive and when he gave us our checks he didn't include bottomless. Our party didn't notice as they had been drinking and I was making sure everyone was okay. The next day we noticed 2 charges on everyones cards for inconsistent amounts. I gave the manager a ring and he clarified that it was for the bottomless but couldn't provide a reason why it was inconsistent amounts (seems suspicious to me). After a long Friday touring Arlington and the Smithsonian, I took my protege/summer work shadow out for a well-deserved repast. Looking for a place to eat that had good chicken, Yelp pointed me to The Admiral. Beer was expensive... close to $20 for a 22 ounce glass. So, meh to drinks. My sister and I came here on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. We ordered the chips and guacamole. We got it spicy. It was really good and tasted very fresh. I could tell it was just made. The spice level was really good, as well. We also had the crab cake, which we enjoyed. There were good lump pieces of crab in it. We also tried the shrimp taco. It was very flavorful. Great service, space, and easy for organizing events! Of all of the bars that I've ever tried to organize an event with, the Admiral has been among the easiest and least high maintenance. They have good outdoor patio space overlooking DuPont. They have several bars which make it s great space for hosting events - we had nearly 100 people and the space was perfect, staff was quick with service and friendly, and the management was accommodating and flexible. Nice staff overall but my issue is with the menu pricing of draft beer - how does it make sense for a 16 oz. draft to cost $0.48/oz. ($7.75) while the same draft beer in a 22 oz. glass costs $0.58/oz. ($12.75)? Frankly, it should be the other way around, if anything. When asked by the bartender if one wants the larger size, without seeing the menu, one would have to assume that the larger glass would be cheaper per ounce, or at least equal. But not at The Admiral, where you're actually getting a much worse deal for buying more. read more

I asked the waiter if the queso had meat in it, she denied. However as I was eating it, it seemed like there were bits and pieces of bacon. I would have asked my friends to check, but they were too litty to be able to tell. I ordered the quesadilla because I was starving. I specifically said 'veggie quesadilla with no meat but the veggies are fine.' She brought out a cheese quesadilla. Um, where the veggies at??? I asked her why there were no veggies in the quesadilla and she responded - "when I think of veggie, I think of just cheese..." Me and my whole party looked confused. She said she could bring out some mushrooms on the side instead, but I don't eat mushrooms so I rejected her offer. My friends and I came to the Admiral last night for drinks since happy hour lasts from 4 pm til closing on Wednesday. We absolutely loved the happy hour specials on food and the drinks were fantastic. We also really enjoyed sitting on the patio for happy hour. We sat outside at one of the high top tables and it's a fairly substantial sized outdoor space with plenty of room between tables, so it was nice and it felt safe considering we are still in a pandemic. Additionally, the staff were so kind and attentive, we had 2-3 different people check on us periodically to see if we needed more drinks and or food. All in all, everything was fantastic. I loved how crispy the parmesan fries were and I had them with ranch. I also liked my quesadilla - for $8 it was plenty of food and surprisingly larger than I expected. The $27 happy hour pitchers were also fantastic and were much stronger than I anticipated, so this was a great deal to split with friends. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be coming back! read more

We were able to place HH orders around 5:40p. The kitchen was backed up so we literally had to wait 30-40 mins even for the HH appetizers. For the table we opt'd for a shareable $27 pitcher of some cocktail. It was strong, esp. as I don't typically drink but it was enough for 2 glasses between 4 people. Parmesan Fries- SOO good and enough for 2-3 people as well Chicken Bites- I want some RIGHT NOW! these were good, esp. tossed in the traditional flavor with blue cheese Music was a mix of hip hop and pop.
