Came here on a Saturday around 8pm with my partner. I got a reservation for two although the downstairs was empty and there was a party upstairs. Likely didn't need the reservation. I got the cauliflower wings which were greasy, the fish and chips, and we each got a seasonal cocktail. The fish and chips were greasy, the fish was bland and the fries were not very salty. The cauliflower wings were lacking in freshness and I wouldn't be surprised if they were frozen. The vibe was fine, it's more of a bar scene, with high top tables near the bar, not too comfortable for your short folks. This bar is kind of in a random location in Lincoln Park, but we went here because the whole upstairs is very Christmasy. The actual food is fine- Very much bar food. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken sandwich or brussel sprouts, but the fries and the burger were decent. Happy Hour Review! I visited Albion Manor with a group of 6. They have outdoor patio seating, bar seating, and large booths to accommodate groups. The booths are a bit enclosed so we struggled to get the staffs attention at times to order. Service was a bit slow but our server did get more attentive. Our group ordered a variety of apps and drinks. I split the California Cab Sauv on special and thoroughly enjoyed it! My coworkers got the espresso martini, prickly pear mule, and the london fog. All said the drinks were well balanced and tasty. For food, the reuben egg rolls and fish and chips stole the show! Note that the HH Fish & Chips order had (1) filet where the regular order has (3). We had some beautiful weather over the weekend and we decided to take advantage of the patio at The Albion Manor. We tried these chipotle BBQ wings and they were delicious! The menu is English forward and I am looking forward to trying their shepherds pie. Additionally, we learned they are now starting trivia every Sunday at 6pm! We decided to play, lost, but had a lot of fun. The bartender (chandler I think his name was) is one of the nicest people ever and he showed us the cocktail lounge upstairs that is open Thursday through Saturday. A hidden gem! We were really pleasantly surprised that every food item was high-quality and very tasty and fresh. The french fries were super crispy and they will even taste good when they're cold because they won't get soggy. The serving size for the cups of chewy and French soup were pretty amazing and plenty of food. The sourdough that came with the French soup and shepherds pie was toasted and buttered and tasted amazing. We loved it that French onion soup has so much onion. The only thing about the French onion soup I didn't like was it was very salty and too much black or white pepper. Is Free Parking on the street across the street. Upstairs has more seating and it's very comfortable. On the ground floor there are flatscreen TVs everywhere and there are many boots where you have your own TV and you can sit around with at least six people together. The seats are very comfortable. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very nice. The chef is wonderful here and we will continue to come back. read more

Awesome place to watch EPL! They open for every single EPL game, even the 6:30 am games! There's a listing on the website that shows the schedule; they show a lot of other games too. It's big enough that you can usually find a good spot and not feel jostled. Good mix of people who support different teams. But Albion is much more than just a sports bar. Really tasty food. Curry friend and Brussels sprouts are great if you want a snack but there's more substantial food - burgers, sandwiches, brunch items - and it's very good. Great cocktails and the bartenders are all excellent, but also a nice beer menu. I've gone with my Dad, friends, on dates and it's good for all of the above. Also across from the movie theater so it makes a good pre & post movie spot. There is usual some sneaky parking right in front near the daycare center. read more

We came in the other month for a dinner as we'd always wanted to try Albion Manor. It was pretty slow for a weekend evening so there was ample space. Service was really friendly and the food came out quite quickly. I got a french dip sandwich which was better than expected. Actually, all our food was better than we expected. Perhaps we figured low key pub, selling the pub atmosphere and easy drinking, but we were really pleasantly surprised by the food. Would definitely eat here again. Obviously the drinks are great. My Guinness was good and our server kept it flowing. The only perhaps negative is the tables where we sat have super high booths. Great for medium sized groups as you're not surrounded by others' conversations, but it also made it very dark. When we left the light outside really hit hard after being surrounded by dark booths, no windows, etc. read more

Cute place to hang out for a quick bite before a movie at the Webster theater. This was our first time stopping in here as we had some time to kill before the movie. We were going to see Oppenheimer and based on the time, it would have been too late for The Doctor and my BFF to eat, so we decided to stop in here. Honestly, at first glance there is nothing that pulls one in to explore. I have gone to the Webster theater a lot and actually park on the side street where the restaurant is, but never felt a pull to check out the place. I am so glad that I did. The interior is very British pub looking. Based on some of the photos on the wall, you can see that they did some work to give the décor that feel of being in a pub. I was very happy to see that they had bubbles on the wine list. We got a bottle of sparkling rose prosecco. This alone will get me back in the joint as I love a good sparkling rose. This one has a hint of violet in it and is dry. I decided to start with the Ploughman's Plate (British Charcuterie). This consisted of several cheese and meat selections, Branston pickles, a pickled egg and crostinis. I laughed when I saw the menu calling this a British version of charcuterie because typically these platters focus very heavy on the bread, cheese and pickles, maybe throwing in some ham. This plate did have meat though. Overall this was a good dish, but I was not a fan of the crostini and asked for regular bread. The pickled egg was very good and it would have been nice to have a second one as part of the presentation, just something to think about. For our main course we got the Albion Burger (Beef Patty, Arugula, Bacon Jam, Garlic Aioli, Smoked Gouda). The bacon jam was a nice touch as it added a little of sweetness against the meat and cheese. The burger itself was good, not overcooked, with fries. I saw that there was Shepherd's pie on the menu that I would like to go and try. I love that dish but oddly enough, not many places do it justice. So I am always on the hunt for a good one. Service was good as we sat at the bar. The bartender took good care of us and got us out in time to walk across the street to get to our movie on time. Shepherd's Pie: was hearty and the buttery toasted bread it was served with was delectable. Beef chili: was served with tortilla chips so I ate it more like a dip. The bottom line is that if you're not spending a lot of money you will not receive good service. My husband and I stopped here for a drink before a reservation and it was like we didn't even exist. I'm a fan of 2 in 1 places and Albion Manor is one of those. Downstairs, is the publike atmosphere. This is where we had our HH food and drinks. The fish and chips were pretty good - good, light crispy banner. My friend ordered curry fries, which was similar to the chips without fish plate, but the curry sauce seemed very salty. We also had the beet salad and kale salad. The beet, I think was a bit better balanced than the kale which was quite acidic. Likewise, we had the daiquiri which was also a bit on the acidic end. The drinks were fine, pretty average. Atmosphere was actually more casual than what photos appear. Seems like a local spot with the occasional event upstairs in the cocktail lounge area. I love this place! I come here all the time for the vibes, staff, drinks and food! They had beef tartare this summer which was great. The chicken sandwich is also to die for! I'd go back for that a million times over! It was crunchy and flavorful! 8.5/10 I don't have this photographed but the curry fries are addictive as heck! Im allergic to egg and I'll still order with the aioli because it's that good. 11/10 Also not pictured but their fish and chips are SO GOOD! They make their tarter sauce in house which is wonderful! It is also mayo based, which I didn't know as someone with an egg allergy. Totally worth it. The fish is perfectly breaded, it was light and tasty! The fish inside was moist and did I mention the sauce is worth eating with an allergy! 9.7/10 The cocktails are also wonderful! Succulent pieces of prime rib with all the trimmings - Yorkshire puddings, roasted root vegetables and peas. Good gravy too! If I could go again I'd start with dessert - the Panna Cotta with caramel, smoked kiwi, streusel, and kiwi sorbet might just be the best dessert I've ever had! We came in on a slow afternoon and the staff was super warm and welcoming. We sat at the bar and I had a Negroni and my girlfriend had a Manhattan both drinks were spectacular! We ordered the dry rub wings and they were tasty. Then we ordered a pizza from Pequod's Pizza right down the road and went to a bench near the river to eat it and then came back to the pub for dessert - that's when we discovered the Panna Cotta, we ended up ordering two because it was so good! Really liked the vibes of this English restaurant, great location and close to a lot of events. There's a lot of potential but it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately our experience tonight did not leave us impressed and we will not be coming back. We came in for dinner and sat at a table. Tried to order an aspall cider which unfortunately was on back order, can't do anything about that which is understandable. Next tried to order the hot and boozy cider, this is their homemade cider and although it's on the menu they did not have it ready. Next we ordered sandwiches instead of typical UK food as we were getting ready for our next event. My husband had the French onion sandwich which he loved. We both had the fries which were good. I ordered the steak sandwich which was subpar. Steak had a lot of fat bits on it, and I mean a good portion that were on the sandwich. The meat was overcooked. Pickled onions were not quite pickled, like they were taken out too early in the process. When there was sauce on the sandwich it was good but one side had some and the other side barely any. Then on top of this all, we were asked if we wanted more water and said yes and it was never brought to us. Just a truly disappointing experience. read more

Amazing hidden gem. Bottom floor is a well curated British pub - well designed and makes you truly feel like you're in a British pub, great place to watch games too. Red bean hummus - huge surprise and loved it. Comes with rainbow vegetables (not your average carrot and celery) marinated baby tomatoes and a delicious grilled sourdough bread. Char grilled chicken wings - I love char and they do it right, grilled but has great crispy texture and the flavor was 10/10.
