Half of a sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel
    Michael C.

Looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich? Try a sausage, egg and cheese on a fresh warm or toasted bagel for a protein-packed start to your day. I probably should have taken a picture of the whole sandwich but it looked too good. Not the start on the other half. Great people, warm and friendly atmosphere and good service.

Easily the worst bagel I've ever had. It is so bad I can only describe it as insulting. If I actively tried to make a worse bagel I would fail. It is doughy and flavorless. Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed. To make matters worse, at 10am they were sold out of just about every kind of bagel. I went in with the intention of buying a dozen and left with two. I would maybe give them a pass if they had been nice at all, but the woman was absolutely nasty to me for no reason whatsoever. On top of that, none of the employees were wearing masks which I found to be rather disgusting considering we're in an ongoing pandemic, but if I contracted covid and died because of it I would take solace in the fact that I never had to eat another bagel from this place again. I would rather starve than return.

Small place with a decent array of all of the basic bagel selections. Have a solid variety of cream cheese spreads and also make bagel sandwiches. The bagels were fairly high quality. Nothing super special about this place, but the bagels were solid. 7.5

I never am able to actually get a picture of my bagels from Bagel Chalet because once they are home, they are gone!! I have lived in Avon for 4+ years and just recently discovered this amazing bagel shop. My first time in I was hooked! The amazing young lady behind the counter a told me about the pizza bagel with the chive and garlic cream cheese - I have been unable to get any other bagel since!! My wife loved the BLT on a cheddar bagel. I can't wait to keep trying everything on the menu!

Plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese

Omg... I was craving a plain bagel with strawberry whipped cream but this was way better than expected. The bagel was fresh and perfectly toasted. The strawberry cream cheese was probably the best I've had, with real strawberries in it. I also got a snickers coffee which was pretty good too. Not the best picture, but I couldn't wait to get home to eat it lol

I moved back east not long ago, and finally got the chance to check out Blue House Bagels in July…read more Since then, I have been coming here (quite literally) every weekend. First, the staff are amazing here, they are friendly and kind and always keep up a good vibe and attitude no matter how packed or busy the place gets (and trust me, it gets PACKED). The interior of this place is adorable, and feels like you're really stepping into an old preserved colonial home. The bagels are always fresh, and due to the sourdough they don't cause any bloating or make you feel stuffed in a bad way. They're always coming up with new combinations and flavors and it's hard sometimes to know what to pick but I am not complaining! The biggest thing to keep in mind is get here early if you can, as they don't have much parking (you can sometimes find parking in the small lot next door). I am a huge bagel breakfast sandwich fan, and I can see myself coming here every weekend for a very, VERY long time. If you get the chance, grab some of their starter that they sell in house, on Amazon, or even at Shoprite in Canton if they still have their display going! Keep doing what youre doing Blue House Bagels, you guys have it right.

The Blue House Bagel Co. was another business I had unreasonably gargantuan expectations for. I…read morehave wanted to visit for a very long time, and heard extremely positive things about it. Never mind its awards. So when I finally went this morning, I was afraid the bar was set at a level it couldn't possibly live up to. Somehow, it still blew me away. It's an adorable building (yes, it is a blue house). The side door main entrance was open and clearly marked, and then the layout inside was so well thought out and it couldn't have been easier to navigate as a first time customer. I had a pretty good idea of wanted I wanted ahead of time, and was just hoping that even though it was a weekday, they weren't already sold out of anything (I know they get extremely busy and have a very devoted following). They had been posting a lot about their Egyptian dukkah bagels. I love dukkah (they use cardamom, sesame seed, clove, paprika, fennel & E.V.O.O.), so I ordered that as my bagel choice for their Blue House sandwich. They have many brilliant sandwich options as well as the option to build your own. They also have many house made schmears, pastries and other goodies. They even do stuffed bagels. I believe they are a completely, if not predominantly, sourdough based bakery. So my sandwich, the Blue House, had egg, white cheddar, heirloom tomato, greens, and herb aioli. Watching them make the sandwich was incredible and a treat in itself. The level of care and craftsmanship they put into each sandwich is rare. I could tell which one was mine and just had a blast watching! Very happy foodie. The bagel was toasted just enough, but the chewy sourdough texture wasn't lost. It was a remarkable bagel. One of the best I have ever had. I hesitate to call it the best after just one visit, but it was good enough to entertain that thought. The sourdough recipe also made it extremely light and it agreed with my finicky health/dietary needs better than any other bagel I've had in years. The topping ratios were just perfect. Rarely do bagel sandwiches with an aioli have enough, and they put plenty without making it overly saucy. Just brilliant sandwich construction, which really is not taken seriously enough. I brought a French toast bagel to my mom with a tub of their apple & honey cream cheese, which I tasted of course. Whipped and super light. Flavor unlike any other schmear I've had before. It was an incredible flavor. My mind really was blown. Everyone working was cheerful, warm, and friendly. It was a wonderful environment, and from what I had seen on social media it seems like it's always that way and I great place to be with passionate people behind it. I honestly see it being very hard to go to another bagel shop any time soon. This was just an overall fabulous experience. Every aspect. I cannot wait to go back. I will say it had very steady business around 8:45 on a Wednesday, so be prepared for them to be busy.

The staff is consistently friendly and efficient, and most of the food is solid. That said, I was really disappointed with my $12 breakfast sandwich today. I know it's $8.59 on their website (but I got it for $11.77 after Uber Eats fees and delivery) The menu/stock photo prominently shows a beautiful, thick-cut peppered bacon that looks crispy and substantial. What I actually received was thin, flimsy microwave-style bacon with almost no pepper visible and very little of the texture or flavor you'd expect from "real" bacon on a premium sandwich. The difference is striking when you compare the advertising photo to the actual product (see attached pictures). For the price point, I expect the quality to match the marketing. It's not that the sandwich was bad overall the bagel and other components were fine but the bacon was a clear downgrade that affected the whole experience. I'm not judging- I'm a mom I've had to make quick breakfast meals using microwaveable bacon but- come on .... This is NOT what is being advertised. I'll likely be back because the service and other items are good, but I hope Bruegger's either updates their photos to reflect reality or brings the bacon quality up to what they're advertising. A little more honesty and consistency there would go a long way.

A nice update: After leaving the below review about our previous visit, I was contacted by Bert,…read morethe District Manager, who went above and beyond to make things right. She was horrified by our experience and explained management changes were already taking place to ensure a sitiuation like ours never happened again. She also personally offered to remake our order correctly and with the care we deserved on another visit. We decided to take her up on the offer, because what else did we have to lose? This time, Bert was on site to ensure everything came out perfectly...and it did! The bagel sandwiches were hot and fresh, the order was made the way they should be, and Bert's customer service was excellent. She also apologized several times for our original visit. We really appreciate Bert's professionalism, kindness and commitment to customer service as she completely turned our experience around and made good on her promise to make things right. Original review: Absolutely terrible experience (yet again) at the Avon Bruegger's. My husband called in a to-go order for a Double Stack and a Sriracha Honey Sunrise, and both sandwiches were completely wrong. The wrong bagels, no cream cheese, and zero attention to detail. It's basic stuff, but apparently too much for this location. When I called to speak with a manager about fixing the issue, I was put on hold for over 11 minutes, only to hear manager Emily loudly complaining about customers and their orders to a male coworker. He mentioned several times that I was still on hold, but Emily told him to "just hang up" on me instead of taking the call. I could clearly hear everything they were saying. When I called back, Anastasia answered and was very apologetic, but said Emily "couldn't talk right now." I could hear Emily in the background refusing to come to the phone. There was no apology, no offer to call back, nothing. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. This is the third bad experience I've had here, and it's obvious where the problem lies. Emily is rude, dismissive, and has absolutely no business being in a management position. A good manager leads by example, not by hiding from customers and dumping issues on her team. Based on other reviews, I'm clearly not the only one who's had problems with her. Bruegger's corporate should take a hard look at this location because Emily is the problem. I won't be coming back, and I'll be warning others to avoid this store until it's under better management. I genuinely feel sorry for Emily's employees.

Although a scenic drive to Bruno's, it is completely out of the way for me, but I wanted to try them. This cafe is small, and very busy. They have some seating options, but all the seats were taken. They did have some tables and chairs outside, and it was a pleasant day to sit outside. Their milk is sourced from Arethusa Farms, one of the best, if not THE BEST local dairy resources. Their menu is large with coffee, tea, refreshers, including pastries, breakfast and lunch options. On this trip we got coffees. I got Nova's Nutella Latte, the others got a mocha and Kiwi, Mint & Lemongrass refresher. These were all very pricey, I was a bit taken aback. Each drink was between $9.00 and $10.00. Maybe it's because of the locally sourced milk, I can't think of another reason. My Nutella Latte was very chocholatey and very tasty, but my cup was also filled with ice all the way to the top. The refresher was very sweet, but a unique combo of flavors and pretty refreshing. The mocha was solid. Overall, maybe I got the wrong things at Bruno's, but I can't say I was super impressed, especially at such a high cost.
