I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Starting off at check in being flawless with Julia! We got a great room we were in check in and out of check in within eight minutes. I cannot understand why Summer is complaining about the $200 hold on your card! Overtime this is become very normal because a lot of people don't know how to act in hotel rooms. I had no problem with putting my card on hold and have since already received my deposit back! Be prepared to spend around $180-300 per night depending on the time. We stayed during the week but on spring break for $265 and I am sure when I come back on an off season it won't be that high. The bar in the lobby area are absolutely stunning very old world Hollywood glam! The beautiful art, deco, seating, and lounge area draw that I and it is very easy to stay down there have a drink, or a meal, and enjoy people watching passing by. We got a king size bedroom with a great window view to Ocean Drive. The bed was very comfortable! No issues there. The shower was wonderful a little low on the water pressure but because we're at the beach it was probably better for my skin to have a softer stream of water. The towels were nice and big, they even had robes for you to wear! Me and my daughter loved this feature. The note did advertise that there were slippers, I didn't see any slippers in the room. But I did not turn me off from the room as a whole in general we were on floor five the pool was on floor three so we were overlooking the pool which was a super cute of you. The pool itself is like they say, very small! However, it was heated in the middle of March, and surprisingly enough it was perfect!!! Also elyse at the bar! She was a star! Made absolutely amazing drinks and told me lots of fun things to do on our day trip to the Keys. Also, they give complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas and towels on the beach for guests! Loved that and took advantage every day of my stay! All around great stay. Nice beach, away from the spring breakers and the art Deco vibes were awesome

Friendly staff, small and quaint atmosphere so a lot of one on one conversation with staff. Room was as expected, and clean. I took notes to give a shout out to our server/bartender but I can't find it. He helped create a perfect drink that I was asking for but he had never heard of. It was beautiful and tasty ( he named it a California cucumber) lol The one downside is parking but it's the area , we paid for valet and would have to call 20 minutes ahead. Great place and great location over all If it weren't for the parking I'd give 5 stars

Cannot rave how much I loved staying at the Balfour hotel! From the moment we checked in with William, who we adored. His service, attention to details, and can't forget great conversation, helped us upgrade to their new remodeled room. If you are a plant lover like me, you will love the ambience of nature, surrounded inside and out of this cute quaint hotel. There were complementary bikes that we could use to ride to the beach, which was less than a minute away. And the bar had great drinks, happy hour and lunch specials. I cannot wait to re-return and spend another vacation at the Belfour hotel

I wish I could give this place more stars but really have a hard time doing it. I really want to given it more but can't bring myself. The rooms are very tight and there is a bench in there that is oversized which doesn't give you much room to move around. The bathroom is even smaller and the door opens right by the entry door. Lobby area and outside patio are nice but that's about it. The nicest things about the hotel is the Lavazza coffee makers in the room and the free oranges in the lobby. The beach is nice but of course you have to cross the street to get to the Chairs. Last time in Miami we stayed at the Stanton a block away which is awesome and has a great pool area. Maybe a bit pricier and two blocks farther away from the main drag.

A reasonably affordable, historic hotel in South Beach with very stylish decor. Unfortunately the main lobby which houses the restaurant and bar has an overwhelming moldy smell. Fortunately our room was in a different building and only smelled like mildew in the shower. However the room opens to the outside, motel style, even though this place calls itself a hotel. Luckily in January it wasn't too busy so the room was quiet at night, but it opened to a central pool which plays music until 10:30pm. The bed was too soft but the room was otherwise reasonably comfortable. Especially noteworthy was the large shower, though it did reek of mildew. At checkin we asked if there was parking and they said no, just $45 valet. This hotel gives a good effort but I would not return.

Booked this hotel because I like the mid century modern look and feel of being " at home." It's nice and cool and cozy. The room was very clean. The bed and pillow are on the firmer side. The only thing I would change about our stay is that they had down pillows or soft pillow options.. The check in process was stress-free and easy. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They allowed us to leave our bags if we needed extra time to check out the beach. It's a few minutes from the beach. They offer bike rentals the first two hours are free. A pool with a pretty view and a rooftop corner. The breakfast is really good as well as the dinner menu. Drinks are also good. Really enjoy the patio out front with the fans, it's a relaxing and pretty viewpoint.

I'd give a hundred stars I LOVED this hotel. Updated but left in retro to give you an appreciation for the historic value of the building The staff was incredible! Our room was absolutely adorable Our dog was welcomed Short walk around the corner to the beach they give you lounge chairs at the beach we got towels at the hotel free metal refillable water bottles they give you free bicycle rentals coupons for the restaurant and the food was outstanding I loved everything here

Overall it was a good stay. The hotel has been recently remodeled and does look nice. I booked the room from booking.com for my husband and I's anniversary. I was even told they would have a bottle of bubbly waiting for us but there was none. The 328 room we had was HOT! I didn't see any bed bugs or anything. No matter what you set the thermostat too...it was always 76-78 degrees. The ceilings in the room were concrete and there were NO ceiling fans which would have helped with the cooling of the rooms. I had to pile up clothes and dirty towels around the door to provide some ability to prevent leak around the door due to poor to no weather stripping. I had to wait a few hours for maintenance to come up and fix a bathroom light that would not cut off and it shined in our eyes through a glass wall from the bathroom to the our bed. Apparently...it was a bad switch. Then, I would have someone knocking on my door at almost 8 PM to provide room service!?! They don't warn you of this up front but where I come from ...you don't just show up that late, knocking on someone door saying u going to clean the room and restock. Apparently, the front desk staff stated they come until 10pm to clean rooms! Well who knew?!? I have stayed at MANY hotels and that has never been the case. Sorry...it's just weird. I enjoyed the wonderful restaurant downstairs. Great Chef and Bartenders. The pool is a spa pool which means it's small and hot all the time. Courtyard is nice to eat at. Restaurant manager checked on us and was very friendly. Hotel manager didn't address anyone and would just let just walk people by without even a hello. I love the rooftop area to lay out and chill. It was cooler to sit up there at night and people watch. They do not have balconies in any room, Booking.com stated they did. They also have bikes to use around south beach. Though...I didn't realize that until my last day. I would say better communication with better check in instructions by staff would have help a lot. They do provide beach chairs for free at the beach with just a couple minutes walk from hotel. They are already set up for you but you have to rent the umbrella which was $10.00, but worth it! FYI: You can use the yelp coupon for the restaurant and get 25% off a meal. The restaurant is just attached to hotel but they are their own Inity. I would have given 4 stars had I gotten a good rest, cool room, and received the bubbly that was promised to me.

    A bedbug bite

BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS! I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The first night I was bitten by a bed bug but I thought maybe it was a mosquito .. the second night I had been bitten 5+ times and woke up at 3:00am to more bites. the manager was non responsive to the staffs emails about the issue. I was told that my clothes would be cleaned and they never were, instead on my best-friends bachelorette weekend I had to wear pajamas and also had to take my own clothes to be washed and dry cleaned (to a place they recommended) My clothes were then ruined. Once I finally heard back from the manager they told me they would comp one night from my stay (that was lie he never did) instead they took off 100$ worth of resort fees for a 700+stay. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

The valet parking has a feature that makes the high cost super worthwhile: they have a little entryway off of Alton Road so you don't have to double park or back up traffic. What a God send! Pool on the roof? Check. Bar on the roof? Check. Typical clean rooms? Yep. Avoid the pricy honor bar, as there are loads of bodegas and a Publix grocery store just around the corner. Hell, there's a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's a quick jaunt away on foot, too. We will be back two more times in the next two months. Has this become our base of operations on Miami Beach? I guess so. I'm a sucker for the art deco South Beach scene, but the pricing and convenience make this place so worthwhile. So why not five stars? Well, five star hotels are a league of their own. But for us mere mortals, this Kimpton rocks. One weird note: the faucet in the bathroom has hot on the right side of the single control mechanism. Exactly opposite of the rest of the American hotel world. Oh, and there is a see-through but opaque panel in the shower that allows you to see blurry outlines of shower-takers while in the room itself. Is this normal? I have only seen this "feature" in Detroit and here. Bonkers. Good on-site restaurant. Tasty breakfasts. No in-room coffee makers, but there are free coffees in the lobby in the morning.

High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.

I was in Miami for a day and half and wanted to soak up some sun and enjoy myself being close to restaurants and the beach . I love this boutique styled hotel and the beautiful rooms that are so beautiful with the turquoise lighting ( my favorite color). I feel safe traveling solo here and never have had any issues. I love the pool and bar area and the decor of this hotel. They offer valet parking which I didn't need as I used car service from the brightline but have always trusted my trucks with their valet attendants. I've already booked another stay for September !

The elevators are a bit slow, the hotel was built in 1920. Its a big elevator. The bedroom is super nice. My partner is a globalist so we got a really nice room. I wish they had a little more amenities in the bathroom like make up remover, cotton and shower cap. If they did have it, I didn't see it. I do have to say, its loud at night. I couldn't really sleep. People were still out partying at 4am. If you don't mind loud then this place is good. The view of the main road was nice, I got to people watch. They also have beach service where they bring out the chairs and have service. We didn't have time since we had to board the Royal Caribbean ship. Check out was super easy. I would recommend this place.

CitizenM Miami--What a Vibe! My friend and I stayed at…read moreCitizenM after checking out of another hotel, and let me tell you--this place is pretty damn cool! The décor is everything--modern, stylish, and full of character. We were instantly intrigued by the self-check-in process. I've never checked myself into a hotel before, and honestly, it was different in the best way--quick, easy, and kinda fun! When we walked into the room, my first reaction was, "This is cute!" It's definitely cozy--a small space with a king-sized bed and a bathroom that gives cruise ship vibes--but I loved it! Everything was well-designed and functional. One of my favorite parts? The location. It's literally on Lincoln Road, so you're right in the middle of everything. My stay was short, so I didn't get to hit the pool or check out the bar, but both looked super inviting. There are plenty of desks and workspaces throughout the hotel, so if you're traveling solo--especially for business or remote work--this is a perfect spot. Now, I won't lie--the room setup meant I had to climb over my mate to get to the bathroom, which wasn't ideal, but we made it work because we genuinely loved the vibe. If you're considering staying at CitizenM--go for it. It's a fun, modern hotel that's perfect for a short Miami getaway. I'd definitely stay again!

To my surprise, when we arrived, the hotel was completely shut down, and we had received no prior notice about this. As someone traveling from another state, I believe I should have been compensated for my taxi fare, at the very least. We were rerouted to another hotel, but we had to navigate this alone late at night and in the rain. Overall, it was a terrible experience--I give this hotel a definite thumbs down.

I stayed at this Marriott and generally had a good experience, but not quite a four-star one…read more The location is excellent, and the price was reasonable by luxury beachfront South of Fifth standards. The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

Soooo...overall a pleasant stay in spite of my two stars. But here's the thing...if we paid $200 a…read morenight I would rate this a four star. However since we paid tripple that price I have to be way more critical. The staff makes it extra special. They were all friendly and had the "I can do it for you attitude." Kudos to the staff. Our "up-graded" room facing half ocean/city was tiny, a tad worn, had a very nice view, and non impressive toiletrees. The worst part of our room was the side of the hotel we were on. Our room was on the industrial exhaust fans side and it was extremely noisy. Had to keep our balcony door closed to drown out the noise. The location of the hotel, as others mentioned is ideal. Now here is the scary part...we got stuck on the elevator two times. It wasn't a long time but enough to scare me especially since I am very claustrophobic. I ended up taking the stairs to the 9th floor the rest of our stay. They did fix the elevator but this happened to quite a few guests and they didn't shut the elevator. Our complimentary breakfast (free with my Marriott status) was not the best. Breakfast is served in the attached Mexican restaurant which is not owned by Marriott. It is not a buffet. Small menu with the basics. Food was fair. We enjoyed the pool and the short walk to the beach. The pool restaurant has the best hotdogs! And we also enjoyed the quinoa salad.
