When we went, they had just opened recently under new management. You could tell they were still trying to figure out the kinks as well manage their inventory and whatnot. This place is in a plaza with a huge parking lot so you shouldn't have trouble finding parking. We came here during their happy hour (Monday through Friday, 3-6pm). I ordered the dudebro ($10) which is essentially a White Russian. When talking to the bartender, she mentioned that a lot of their drinks are their twists on normal drinks. Not my favorite. I mean, maybe if I were local to the area I would feel differently about it but overall? It just didn't tickle me. It was like a step above a dive but not like a stellar night out. The bar was full, leaving the area with a few steps and booths available away from the people. I'm sad to say I wasn't impressed and maybe I was in on an off night, although the bar was full. After talking to the owners, we learned that they just changed management a little over a month ago. The drinks are all twists they have on classics such as White Russians, Mojitos, and etc. It's a fairly simple and small bar that is probably best for folks who just want a chill and intimate vibe. I didn't have the time to try it but they had cheese curds which I rarely find anywhere outside of the midwest. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely giving that a go! Phoenix has way, way too many small bars in sleepy strip malls that from the outside appear to lack character. But of all of them, The Bar is one of the better ones. The drinks range from incredibly affordable wells, up to lesser known spirits like mezcal at great price points, and even a respectable cocktail menu. There's a kitchen that's open pretty late, and plenty of seating to enjoy pub food that fortunately extends beyond the same 4-5 deep-fried items everyone else has. The bartenders know what they're doing, and unlike a lot of other small places aren't intimidated by mixing something containing more than two ingredients. They are not the most flashy, but they are comfortable, and I suppose everyone gets a kick out of The Big Lebowski motif. I would come back for sure; this is one of the more enjoyable places around Arcadia. read more

I stop at this place 2-3 times a month. The staff is always friendly, and interactive. It's a small place with a small menu but never disappoints. The honey hot wings are AMAZING. The Bar is a great little spot on Indian School Road. Not a ton on draft, but a good mix of local and domestic options. Good liquor selection. The service is great, they usually have a cute gal working. What really sets it apart is their wings - they are fantastic, particularly the honey-hot wings. I usually order extra with plans on bringing them home, but I wind up eating them. Clean bathrooms, plenty of parking. I like the layout too - there's a ton of rail seating. Only cons are pretty minor. They don't open until 3 on most days, it'd be nice to stop in earlier if I get done with work early - but they actually open at 10 AM on Sundays and they have the NFL games on. It's small, so it gets pretty busy pretty fast, it can be hard to find a seat, and they usually only have one bartender, so she can get pretty behind. Great place I've been coming too on and off for years now. Now that I live down the street, I'm here almost every weekend with my wife. Bartenders Jake and Drew are great, personable, and cool. They make great drinks and love doing it, and are never annoyed if you ask them to make you something custom or annoying. Food is always very solid. If you love wings, you need to try the John Blaze Honey Hot. Very good. BLT and the burger are great too. Great little spot! read more

I loved the intimate setting of this place upon first walking in. When we walked in, there were around 15 people inside on a Saturday night around 9pm. The place became crowded fairly quick but it wasn't to the point that it felt overly crowded. The maximum capacity of The Bar is 49 people. My boyfriend and I ordered the 12 wings(black cherry bbq and John blaze honey hot), potato skins(4), and two Montucky's. We received the wings about 40 minutes after we ordered. Now WAIT.....I know that's a long time! But we were told by our server that there was a new guy working in the kitchen, which seemed to be true, and there was some miscommunication on our order. The taste of the wings could have had more flavor. We did like the crispness of the wings though. Our server Joseph/Jacob.....I forget....(who seemed to be the owner as well) made sure to compensate us for the mishap. Had he not accommodated us in any way then this review would have gone differently, but he gained us as a customer again for sure and I find this to be a good place for small groups. read more

Stopped by here on a Saturday night, I have been wanting to check this spot out for a while and finally got around to it. Atmosphere is pretty chill and laid back. The bar takes up the majority of the place, and they have some long booths with small tables for other seating options. We found a seat at a booth right away and ordered some drinks. They have some pretty cool drink specials such as $5 four roses bourbon and a couple of other options. I ordered some of their chicken wings and got their honey hot flavor mixed with some of their spicy flavor. Wings were flavorful, but I wish they were crispier. It looks like they grill their wings, and I'm definitely more of a crispy wing guy. Service was nice and I can totally see myself coming back to this joint. read more

I have to start out by saying that I am SO excited to have this awesome new dive{ish} bar in the Arcadia/Phoenix community! We were definitely in need of another great, casual spot to go! It is SO cozy, a fun place to watch sports, meet friends late afternoon or night, indulge in DELICIOUS eats by The Stand's newest concept, and the reality is, The Bar is just an all around win! I enjoyed an order of their sliders which are absolutely incredible. Guys, i'm talking melt-in-your-mouth status! I can't even drive by without my mouth beginning to salivate at the thought of their deliciousness. But I mean, they're made by The Stand so duh, of course they're going to knock it out of the park! The fries are also phenomenal - I didn't want them to stop! I had a refreshing glass of chardonnay with my sliders and definitely left a happy camper. I loved the overall energy and feel of the bar. Randomly stopped in this bar for a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon (we drove by intending to go somewhere else, saw The Bar and stopped here first) and I'm glad we did because it's kind of a gem! Really good HH and everyday drink specials. We had a couple Absolut lime mules for $5 each and they were very refreshing. The couple people who were working while we were there were very friendly. I can't really describe the vibe. It's dark yet inviting, artsy (Big Lebowski posters) and a Detroit theme (although I believe one of the bartenders mentioned that was from the previous owner and the new people just left it up the memorabilia). Apparently this place doesn't have a website and I don't see it shown in any of the menu pictures on Yelp, but one of the interesting things The Bar does is combined food and drink specials that I would like to come back and try. Basically you come in with a group of people and it's like $40-$50 for a bunch of alcohol and food. I'll be back. read more

This is a nice little place tucked into a non-descript strip mall on the Northwest corner of 32nd St and Indian School Rd. They are actually refurbishing the outside of the buildings in this center which makes The Bar even harder to find, which is a plus in my book. Once inside, there's a long bar to the left and a few booths to the right. Also a handful of TVs if you want to watch a game. They have beer, wine, cocktails and food that you order at the far end of the bar. We had a couple of beers and a couple of appetizers. The sliders in particular were really good.
