I'm not much of a drinker but we decided to eat here more for their more upscale outdoor atmosphere. And we had our dog with us. We have been coming to the Bar Next Door since they opened, very loyal customers even through the pandemic. First of all I want to say, the staff is great always friendly and attentive and the food is good, the reason for my review is based solely on all the recent increase in prices. I understand that costs have gone up all over but raising a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from $12 to $16 all at one time and then a few weeks later raising it a to $17 is price gauging, this wine is from your own winery so this is insane! In addition, the raise in food prices is ridiculous. we have always supported local businesses but this place is one we will not be returning to. While I realize losing our business will probably not have much effect to your bottom line it should at least make you think about your community and the loyal people who support your business. read more

I was there last night. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks, which were made well and served in a reasonable time. Then we ordered the fried dough and calamari. 5 minutes later someone comes in, sits a couple of seats from us and places his order. 10 minutes later, the friend dough is brought out to the other customer who ordered 5 minutes after us. 10 minutes later our friend dough arrives. It tastes good and was well prepared. About a minute after we get the friend dough, the other customer gets served calamari. 20 minutes after that we get our calamari, which I decline since we've been waiting 40-45 minutes for it. Long story short, the go to local spot! Been going here for a little over a year and it has had its ups and downs. Great crowd of regulars keep me coming back, employees are awesome and, the new manager has done a great job with keeping this place up. The owner is hilarious once you get to know him. They will keep the place open late if it's busy which is nice. As for the food cannot go wrong with the pizza or calamari, and the drinks are the best in town. Would definitely recommend this place to all who are in the area or sick of old-town. The negatives- none that come to me at the moment, granted i am here right now so that pretty much sums it up. We found this bar by accident. There's no sign and its in a corner of a shopping center, but so worth finding. Not a loud nightlife kind of bar; more of an adult chill bar. Good music, great drinks. Found a wrapper/barcode label in my pasta!!! I've been to 'Spuntino Pizzeria' and 'The Bar Next Door' many times and have enjoyed the food and service every time, until now. Service was just okay, and they really need to revamp or pay attention to what they have on order regarding wine. For a wine bar, I really struggle to find something to drink. They were even out of their own wine. The biggest issue was finding a wrapper/barcode label in my food! I had the gnocchi, white sauce and mushrooms, so where did the wrapper come from? Makes me wonder if it's all fresh... I would have included a picture, but they took the plate before I could. In addition to my initial review, the manager replied to my review for Spuntino Pizzeria and advised me, although their bar The Bar Next Door is connected to the restaurant, that it's a separate business, so I kindly moved the review. First of all we called over two months ago to ask if we could order food in the bar on a particular date. 8/15/19 for a birthday party. We got there at 9:20 last Thursday and the Chinese cook was SO VERY rude to us. He bitched at me and said "I'm tired I have been working 11 hours on my legs all day, I want to go home. I asked for the food we had talked about the month before. I called several times to make sure it was ok. They said YES we serve until late. I ordered a cold cuts and cheese platter. No meat. Just cheese!!!! They said the girl did NOT want to cut the meat. Then I asked what can we get the Chinese guy fired back nothing. I said look we called her a few times in the last two months to confirm this restaurant and your place said yes, We serve food late. I asked for sausage and meatballs and look what we got served. Omg. Looked like four big turds. With NO meatballs at all. The "cheese platter" came with no bread, No crackers no meat. It's supposed to have meat. Jokers don't screw up people's parties. WTH ? The bald bartender was cool. He really was a sweetheart. Dude get out if that crap hole. You have wayyyy too much class for it. They have a great happy hour Monday thru Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 and the bar staff are great, especially Joe who is always on point and checks in with you often. Got stuck with paying for something I neither ordered nor ate. The server who took the order failed to put it on a friend's bill so charged me for a pizza because I was the last one there watching the extra innings of game 1 in the World Series. I had to pay for his mistake. Amazing how he remembered it later. Then, he did the same thing to a guy down the bar. A patron left and the server / bartender claimed the guy next to him who just left did not pay for the last beer. Incompetence or scamming? A Starbucks is immediately adjacent and they would not allow one person in our group to drink a Starbucks coffee on their patio. Owner Charity was at the bar with some friends, and she either knows everyone or wants to, because she greeted everyone who walked through the door. Her charm and friendliness definitely sets the tone. It doesn't seem like it would be all that rare to experience great service, great food, and a fun atmosphere - but I realized as I experienced all three at The Bar Next Door that it is rare enough that is stands out when you find it. The Bar Next Door is connected to local favorite Spuntino, purveyor of authentic casual Italian fare, and you can order from the Spuntino menu while in Bar Next Door. The owners, Charity and Alex, also own Gourmet Italia, another local favorite, so it seems they have the Midas touch and I'm not surprised the Bar Next Door is already crowded and serving up a great time. read more

Let's just say it's how I imagine Miami Beach or Ibiza. Not a bad thing - just not my thing. The bartenders were just okay... They were more aloof and stand offish than I like in a bartender but they did there job adequately. Average price of a cocktail was $11. If your into having the basil in your martini smacked around a bit to release the aromas... This is your place! Love this bar. It is small though, so don't expect some huge establishment when you come to check it out. Has a very cozy homey feel to it, so small that you almost feel like you own the joint. If you came here with a large group you would probably take up the whole bar and really own it! Ha... So the bartenders were very nice and seemed to do okay. We had some issues ordering our pizza through the bar though. We put our order in and some people showed IP after us and they received their pizza before we did and ours STILL didn't come out so I asked about our pizza and he went to check on it. Came back and said they are putting it in the oven now. Well.... Okay so y'all forgot about the pizza we ordered because it had been an hour by this time and they were just putting it in supposedly.
