Stopped in to this outdoor food stand as we were looking for a quick bite and lobster rolls fit the bill. We both decided to try the spicy lobster ah rolls. The friendly owner assured us it wasn't too spicy and would even give us a regular lobster if we ordered the spicy and didn't like it! It was presented on a buttery, grilled brioche style hot dog bun. The lobstah was pretty generous and was topped with jalapeño pepper relish and a chipotle aioli. The spiciness did not overpower the lobster, but rather enhanced it and gave this lobster roll a truly unique flavor. This place positively reinforces the notion that the best lobster rolls come from holes in the wall and dives. This is just a cart at the entrance to the parking lot of Grumpy's bar (which, btw, is the very definition of a dive bar). For $20, this is as good a lobster roll as you'll find anywhere. Nothing but an abundant helping of claw and knuckle on a butter grilled bun and topped with butter. No mayo, no filler, just pure sweet lobster. Grab a beer at Grumpy's and take it and the lobster roll to one of Grumpy's two appropriately grimy outdoor tables. Seafood heaven! Or without the beer (but why?) you can sit at somewhat cleaner picnic tables just steps from the food cart. Or get the lobster roll to go. Whatever you do, just get it. read more

Just off the side of the road on Locust Street is a hidden gem! The Barking Claw is a must if you're in the neighborhood. $16 for one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. And the simplicity of it just makes it better! A toasted bun with fresh lettuce, some celery salt, huge fresh junks of lobster, topped off with butter. I love the simple and delicious approach to lobster, and this little stand nails it. I also find the plentiful tender claw meat to be fantastic. While bringing my brother to the ferry I saw and roadside stand advertising lobster rolls I was so excited for the next 15 minutes while dropping off my brother all I could think about was eating a lobster roll when I finally got back to the stand I was thrilled to speak with a man behind the table who educated me on local lobster prices and was extremely nice. I was disappointed in the lobster roll. They took it out of a zip-lock bag on a very hot day, and it was mashed down. The price was okay, but I wasn't thrilled with the lobster meat.
