My friend who I was visiting lives down the street from this place, and he took us here to start off our morning walk and let me just say I'm soooo glad he did! This little place is adorable with golden girl vibes all around! I had gotten the draft iced coffee tres leches and it was phenomenal! I also tried the apple cheesecake which I would eat all day every day if I could. Also got the caramel chocolate chunk cookie which was the size of my head and soft and gooey, yummy! read more

Normally I would not even bother writing a review, but I continue to see rave reviews of this place and my experience was just not good. I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's birthday. The cake was too big for the box they put it in which caused the decorations to get messed up. It seems to me that if you're paying close to $80 for a cake, they should have the right sized box or make the cake smaller. The quality of the cake was worse. It was disgustingly sweet and even with only a crumb coat of icing it was too much. The worst part was the cake was so incredibly dry that it crumbled apart when you cut it. Will never go back. read more

Get there early and get there often. Crazy innovative and addictive treats and quality coffee. The options seem to rotate daily and the crowd favorite is the s'mores brownies. The bottom layer is a graham cracker crust. This may be the best brownie- even inching out the holy grail salted Carmel brownie. During COVID only two people in the store at a time. Parking is limited so bike there if you can. Prices aren't listed on the treats so ask before you get to register. read more

Finally got to order a Jumbo box during covid and got super lucky. Her items are just legit and you can tell they were made with love. Unconditional love. It was a lot of pastries but the gf and I just nibbled on them day by day until they were gone. Everything tasted just as good days later with maybe the exception of the jelly roll (we'll eat that first next time haha). I can't wait to go try more things when she finally reopens and especially to get those oatmeal pies and cookies. Those were my highlights. Just be aware, she sells out quickly with almost everything she makes. read more

I have been following this place on Instagram since before they opened and finallyyyyyyy got across town to try it out! I got the oatmeal pies and Oreo truffle cookie and let me just say it was the best cookie I've ever had in my life. No exaggeration! It taste exactly how the pictures look lol only minor minor complaint is that, it was obvious I had never been there and the cashier wasn't any help at all I asked was there a menu (I was aware that they don't always have the same desserts) and the cashier stated there wasn't one because it changes daily.. then I asked for prices and she told me between $2-$4 then kinda walked away. just would've like to had known details on what were in the treats and specific prices. I would've bought more if she was a tad bit more attentive. The treats made up for it!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would!! So I went to the bakery to buy cookies 3 weeks before I ordered the cof course I get there they were sold out. I asked the owner that I wanted to order a cake she said I HAD to do it on line I said I'm here I want to order it she said no that's not how we do it. So I sent and email because that's how you order it. Wait 2 days to get a response the pick up date was 2/19 also order cookies. During the week I tried to get them to hold cookies and I was told no they couldn't? I'm like I'm spending about $100 and you can't hold cookies? They said no. So I get there picked up the cake and the special cookies. Thankfully they had cookies so bought some. Well fast forward we cut the cake on my moms birthday and OMG!! The cake was raw!!! The third layer on the top you can see it. I'm so disgusted!! I reached out to the owner and she seemed as she was going to do blues clue and find out?? Meanwhile I'm embarrassed that everyone at the party was like what's that in the cake. I expressed this to the owner and it meant NOTHING to her. I got charged for the cake....cookies....I even paid a tip???? Since when do bakeries do this?! She was not sympathetic nor did she offer me no type of compensation towards HER mistake. Very disappointing and sad that she gets to do this and have no type of customer service!! read more

The absolute most adorable store front in a growing location. The owner is loved by Charlotte, for the right reasons. Every single item I have ordered has been delicious. I love to get a big box twice a year to try everything out. Not to mention the oatmeal cream pie candle is the best smell ever. The Nutella banana bread, s'mores brownie, all of the cookies and literally anything else you get there is to die for! read more

There are times my wife and I need to finish our night with a treat. One place we love to either get a treat to end our night or to have with our morning coffee is batchmaker. This place has great homemade baked goods and the owner and staff are such nice and friendly people. We have had the pop tarts (both apple cinnamon and strawberry), the oatmeal cream pie, their brownies, cereal killer muffins with cereal cooked inside. We have loved everything. My wife's favorite is the oatmeal cream pie and mine is the pop tart. They also serve coffee from my favorite local coffee shop, Hex/stable hand. So, two great local spots collaborating is also a big win for us all. Good people, great food and great drinks is what local shopping is all about. I would recommend this place to all sweet connoisseurs. read more

Found out about this place just a few days before heading down to Charlotte from Massachusetts. I wanted to order a special cake for my boyfriends birthday but saw on the website that a week notice was necessary. So, I messaged them to ask if they have cakes in the case that we could buy same-day when we got there. Instead, they fit in a special order for us and made an absolutely delicious cake based off my boyfriends favorite dessert- tiramisu. It was incredible!!! read more

What delicious treats they have. This bakery is known for their s'mores brownies but their oatmeal cream pies and puddle cookies are truly to die for. I do wish the opening hours were still 7am so I could stop there before work but that will just make when I can get there that much more special. What a lovely spot west of uptown! This bakery is decorated beautifully! I had the strawberry pop tart & oatmeal cream pie. Delicious! The employee working was very nice too. This is a great spot to grab a treat with a friend. Love the little play corner too. I hope they eventually do tea, this is the perfect spot for that. Love the tea decor on the wall. read more

These pastries are amazing! I got half a dozen of a variety and honestly all of them where sooo good! Out of all I think my favorite one was the brownie and to second that the pop tart. We took these on a road trip and these were gonna within seconds! I also got a tres leches coffee and I have to say this was amazing. I normally drink black coffee with no sugar and I was surprised of how good this coffee was. I can't wait to go back and try different things. I keep on looking at the lemon bars on their Instagram account so hopefully next time I go those are up for grabs! read more

So, first things first... I like coffee-flavored coffee. So, that's what I drink. I've only had the drip coffee and pastries, but their drip is out of this world! I am certain the rest of their coffee drinks are just as good. The pastries are the rockstar of the show. I strongly recommend the pop tarts. They decadent AF and incredibly delicious! I work literally 10 steps from here, so it quickly became a daily stop. Not much else to say. If you've not been, you're totally missing out on this little gem. read more

by far the best baked treats in Charlotte. Some might complain that they often sell out, but it only proves that this place is loved and shows their treats and handmade and fresh. Oatmeal creme pie, tres leches, smores bars, their cookies are outstanding. The brown sugar cinnamon pop tart takes the cake. Absolutely love it; it youre a golden girls fan, check out the bathroom while you're there. read more

Huge fan of this new place! It's hard to get me out of bed early on a Saturday but the treats were worth it and we'll be back! I can't express in words how fantastic the oatmeal cream pies are... crunchy but chewy and just wonderful. Everything else we tried was awesome too (s'mores brownie, Oreo cake jar, Oreo truffle cookie), but those were my favorite. Also got a very solid latte here with homemade caramel. You ever take a bite of something so good, and for just a split second you're mad? Like you've wasted so much time on other things? Their oatmeal pie is incredible. It's without a doubt the best oatmeal cookie I've ever had and the cream filling is a perfect compliment. It's not too sweet. It's a hefty sandwich about the size of a hamburger with a price to match, but it's worth every penny. We bought some other treats that we haven't even touched but if they're even half as good as the oatmeal pie they'll be fantastic. read more

To whoever is reading this. Do not order a whipped cream cake from here. Attached below is photos of the cake we ended up with. The cake did not survive a 15 minute ride home to be placed in the fridge, as you can see the whipped cream wasn't stabilized enough and ended up looking like it had melted causing the cake to look like the cake in the film "sleeping beauty" thethat the fairies made for her birthday. You know the one that was melting and leaning over? Yeah. The cake layers were not evenly cut and there were chunks of cake missing. I don't understand how a cake like this came from a "professional bakery". It was so sad to end up with a cake like this for my birthday because I was so excited to try out this place. The photos on their website are so beautiful but unfortunately in person that's not the case. I didn't want to leave a bad review and wasn't going to, BUT, I've been in contact with the owner who now unfortunately stopped responding to my emails. So what I've learned is that this company never thinks anything could possibly be their fault and that you will not be receiving any compensation or refund from them if your cake is a disaster. It's unfortunate because I genuinely feel like they're not bad people, they just have absolutely horrible customer service. You can't put your motto on your company as "people first, cake second" when clearly this isn't the case. Hope I can help the next person who is thinking of ordering a whipped cream cake from here. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! They have some of the best desserts in the area. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. I wish they would post more special items and let the public know. They often sell out fast so go early. I also wish they would stay open later, I would love to grab some after dinner on the weekends as my dessert. Not a ton of seating inside which is a downside. This big time brownie is money - it's so rich. Easily the richest brownie I've ever tasted, with gobs of gooey fudge in the middle, graham cracker crust at rock bottom, layered with roasted marshmallow. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of this beast brownie as it really packs a major punch. Also, a must try are their oatmeal creme pies, wow. Both items are Batchmaker's best selling and appropriately for my first visit (and easily not the last), I had to get both. Oh, and I cannot forgot to comment on their cookies, which may be up for best in town. Vast menu, and I can attest the oreo truffle chocolate chip, caramel chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies are amazing. The Batchmaker just became my favorite bakery in town and me being a cake guy, am overly excited to try the cakes there. You have to pre-order them so those reports are soon to come. I just wish their hours were more convenient, but I understand as Cristina, The Batchmaker herself, just opened this location and bakes all the goodies by herself. Had to wait for the hype to die down as they were selling out fast daily. I'll be back (Arnold voice). read more

Apparently there was a ton of seasonal options that they ran out of, but the fact that there wasn't a chocolate brownie, dark chocolate, or chocolate peanut butter, or any Reese's of any kind was a bit upsetting. Those seem like pretty standard flavors which are fan favorites, but they weren't there. When we politely asked if we could return or exchange it because it tasted so bad, the employee working basically shrugged and told us they didn't like that flavor either. Looking back, when we first arrived and asked for recommendations, they didn't offer much guidance. Bathroom was clean - water was only served in bottles, that cost $3. The chairs outside were very uncomfortable. Overall: warm cobblers were nice, some flavors were okay, but nothing stood out as exceptional -- and the bourbon praline was honestly one of the worst dessert flavors any of us have tried, we threw it away.
