I just tried this place for the first time and I think this may be my favorite bakery in Charlotte. The desserts are delicious!! I had been wanting to try this place and am so happy that it lived up to the hype. My favorite item was the oatmeal cream pie. Other items I had were pumpkin loaf, apple caramel cheesecake bar, cinnamon coffee cake, & apple hand pie. All were delicious!! Everything is so flavorful and perfectly spiced. This big time brownie is money - it's so rich. Easily the richest brownie I've ever tasted, with gobs of gooey fudge in the middle, graham cracker crust at rock bottom, layered with roasted marshmallow. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of this beast brownie as it really packs a major punch. Also, a must try are their oatmeal creme pies, wow. Both items are Batchmaker's best selling and appropriately for my first visit (and easily not the last), I had to get both. Oh, and I cannot forgot to comment on their cookies, which may be up for best in town. Vast menu, and I can attest the oreo truffle chocolate chip, caramel chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies are amazing. The Batchmaker just became my favorite bakery in town and me being a cake guy, am overly excited to try the cakes there. You have to pre-order them so those reports are soon to come. I just wish their hours were more convenient, but I understand as Cristina, The Batchmaker herself, just opened this location and bakes all the goodies by herself. I can't say enough good things about this place! I found the place on social media, fell in love with Cris' story behind how she started her bakery and knew I HAD to try something she made! We have ordered several cakes from here. I will tell you each one is delicious. We did have some issues with our last order and the greatest thing about Chris is her customer service. She personally responds to each and every email and we emailed back-and-forth a few times and I told her how much my family loves her cakes and it is a tradition in our home to get birthday cakes from her and when I told her how we felt about the last cake she immediately fixed it. Now don't get me wrong the cake was delicious the cookie dough was phenomenal there was just a couple of issues and she fixed it... Worth the wait! I've been dying to try Batch House ever since they opened. Went on Halloween and even though the line was long I would do it all over again. The draft tres leche iced latte was AMAZING (I only wish they'd sold more sizes so I could've gotten even more)! I got 2 types of brownies, a cookie, and an apple pie. Easily the best cookies I've ever had. I was tired of the usual with the chain cookie spots. After a little research I found this little gem. Very cute on the outside and inside. I admit--I bought into the Instagram hype on this one. I'd been following this place since they opened their doors and I'd seen several 'Charlotte celebrities' raving about the place. So I wanted to love it. I drove well over an hour to love it. But...I don't love it. Well, that's not exactly true--the puddle cookie was delicious. One of the best cookies I've ever had, in fact. We followed the instructions of The Batch Maker's cult following on Instagram, and got a couple of everything to bring home--two puddle cookies, two Oreo truffle cookies, two cereal killer muffins, two oatmeal cream pies, two s'mores brownies, and one piece of banana Nutella bread. It was also 26 degrees, so we sprung for two hot chocolates and two coffees, too. And $71 later (yep, SEVENTY-ONE; I about had a heart attack), we left there wholly underwhelmed. Again, the puddle cookie was delicious, and even the banana Nutella bread was pretty tasty. The Oreo truffle cookie was okay, but ultra rich--have some milk handy for this one. The oatmeal cream pies were fine, though the cream is nearly overwhelmingly sweet. However, the two things I've heard so many rave reviews about left me beyond disappointed. The cereal killer muffin isn't really a muffin at all. It has the flavor and density of pound cake, except it has cereal crumbled on top. Not sure why there's a fuss over these. I don't get it. Not a ton of flavor--just dense, cakey blah. ‍ Finally, the s'mores brownies. I was so excited! And they were beautiful! And I LOVE chocolate--the richer, the better. Unfortunately, the two we brought home were inedible. They weren't simply rich and moist (though they are the richest things I've ever put in my mouth--shockingly and sickeningly so)--they weren't even gooey. They were simply under-baked. Nearly raw inside. Barely staying together. I was so disappointed. I for sure don't need to drive over an hour to come here again. And even if I was in the neighborhood, I probably wouldn't stand in line again, especially for the damage that was done to my poor wallet. read more

It is a great place to pick up goodies for the office, grab a coffee and muffin for breakfast (or hang out and Eat it there) or to get a great birthday cake. Our daughter moved to Charlotte from Ohio and this was her first birthday away from family. I phoned Cristina and asked if it was possible to have a cake delivered. She sent a quick response, made a beautiful cake and delivered it on a weekend in which she was swamped with Mother's Day orders!!! I've been a customer of The Batch Maker for a while now - she's our baker for all our birthday and other celebrations. Now that she's opened a storefront, we get to enjoy her treats whenever we want! I've had the chocolate chip puddle cookies, oatmeal cream pie, smores brownies, salted caramel brownies and many of her cakes - the strawberry is to.die.for. Everything is always incredibly fresh and over the top rich, gooey and delicious - just the way you want a special treat! On our recent visit to the batch house, we also had the mocha latte and the caramel latte. I love the idea of a small shop and open til you sell out...I feel like the Batchmaker makes a valiant effort to be available during the week, the weekends and a couple times during the evening hours which is awesome of a small business owner and working mom! The space is small but cozy, quaint, well decorated and the employees are always so nice and helpful... getting everyone in and out but also not rushing people through. I think the prices also justify supporting a local business and quality items that you can only get there. Week. Since opening. Sometimes I'm only able to get coffee, BUT THATS OK because this shop is SO cute and so homey, and her treats are worth the wait (the ores truffle cookies are my all time fave). Took a trip from NYC to Charlotte to visit friends. I've been following the batch maker, for a while now. I was super excited to go and try it out. Also, very happy that the case was stocked !! The setting is very cute and super cozy. The china that they use is to die for. Me and friends all grab some treats, to enjoy. The Banana Nutella bread, the cereal muffins, OCP, and s'mores brownies. The best out of all was the banana bread, although it was a bit too sweet. The latte that I had did help cut back the sweetness. I hope they get a microwave or a toaster. I felt like some of the thing would have been better warmer up. Like the S'more brownie, would have been amazing if it was warmed up. The texture of the cold set marshmallow was a bit off for me. The OCP, was my least favorite. The cookie itself was not the best. The filling was too sweet, and felt a bit chalky. Overall, a super cute spot and friendly staff. read more
