I visited Oxnard during a work convention. Decided to try this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. I must say, you guys didn't let me down. The food was AMAZING. The service was AWESOME. The omelettes and pancakes are magnificent. I am, originally, from Alabama. This restaurant reminded me of Southern cooking, which is hard to find in California. Also, my daughter mentioned to the waitress that it was her 6th birthday, and all the waitresses later came to sing happy birthday to her. It made her day, which made ours. I love this restaurant. Very good food! Went there on a Sunday morning and it was pretty crowded, as almost all breakfast places are at this time. Fortunately, we did get seated immediately, though. I had the french toast topped with fresh strawberries. It was a large portion and tasted quite delicious. There are a couple of drawbacks to this place when it does get crowded like this. First, I thought the place was pretty noisy, which doesn't make for a very relaxing time. Also, the parking lot is on the small side and it was completely filled up. I love locally made chorizo, especially the real thing, not guero chorizo. This version came in a custard cup and was a fine red oily paste. It was the consistency of a pate with no meat texture at all. It was tasty, a bit salty and oily but not bad. It certainly wasn't like any chorizo I've had anywhere else. Service is super, super friendly! Like eating at a friends home. Our server, Lourdes, treated us like royalty. Lots of guys from the local Navy facilities eat there. Do them a favor and show your appreciation and thanks sometime by anonymously dropping a $20 and secretly paying for their breakfast. Lourdes will take care of the logistics. Holy cow! I went here a bit skeptical, but I was wrong. The food was absolutely fantastic! I had a chorizo omelette and my wife had the seafood omelette. They were both very big and more importantly very delicious. The waitress was very friendly. She talked us into getting one of their homemade cinnamon rolls and it was amazing. I really wanted a good breakfast and whenever I go to Cafe's I always order Eggs Benedict. We got to the cafe and they had great customer service, the waiter was great! My eggs benedict were not. And it really makes me sad. I understand that everyone has their way of making it however, NEVER have I seen a cafe add cheddar cheese to them. I wish I would have known! From 1-10 I rate it at 7. My husband got the NY steak and eggs and he really enjoyed. It was around 11am so the kids got chicken strips and fries, hamburger, and waffles. They really enjoyed the food. As far as the breakfast burrito goes, i could have used a little more bacon and sausage in mine. It had a lot of country potatoes in it. A little too much for my liking. It was massive and fulfilled my craving but too much starch in this one. Salsa was nice and hot... The chilaquiles were a hit. It came with guacamole and sour cream on the side and was also a big portion. Gotta try that if you go. It would have been nice to eat inside and experience all that but the wait was just too long and we were only in town for the weekend to attend a wedding in Ojai. They have a small waiting area inside but the majority of people wait right outside on the sidewalk or there are seats under the awning to the left of the front door... They have their own parking lot but there is also street parking as well. Saviers Road is a high traffic, fast driven road from my observation. Definitely keep your eye out for speeding cars...
