Today, the bacon (and the rest of the meal) was the best it has ever been!!!
Bob K.

Our family has eaten at this Big Biscuit since it opened. The times when we choose to eat out for bfast, we will pick this Big Biscuit more often than not. We risked Covid to eat here a few times, which is the first restaurant we tried during the scary times. We have been absolutely loyal. So it is with huge regret that I update my review to say we are likely to avoid this restaurant in the future. I've the past few months, we have noticed a decline in the service and quality of food. We have seen this before, when managers are changing, but today's experience was a bit beyond... We were ushered to our table after a short wait. And then waited for someone to notice us for quite a while. After putting in our drink order, we waited again for someone to come back and get a food order. (Plus not having any silverware to stir my coffee...). Each of us ordered items we have ordered many times in the past. But the look and delivery was off for every item. Hash browns turned into breakfast potatoes, salsa and toast were missing, the cheese on an omelette was dumped in excess on one side, and the other side had none of the omelette internals... the full order of biscuits and gravy only had 3 of the 4 halves... it was weird. However, we didn't complain, because we heard the waitress taking harsh criticisms from The tables on either side of ours. It couldn't have been "all her fault" because she didn't cook the meal. We felt bad, and left her a decent tip. But the meal was maybe 3 of 5 stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then leaving, we drove around the back and saw someone taking trash out from the kitchen, and he appeared to throw up in the parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So yeah. Our car was ablaze with comments and incredulity. He spit up, wiped his mouth in his sleeve, and kept on to the task of tossing his bag of trash. Did we actually see that? 3 of us, including me, clearly saw something we didn't want to see after a sub-par bfast. So... disappointment doesn't quite cover my feelings. But I just need some space, Big Biscuit. Maybe we can go to some therapy together and reconnect someday, but for now, let's just agree we are going to see other restaurants for a while. I'm adding star for the sake of our past relationship.

The food was delicious and my son said it was the best bacon he's ever had! The portion sizes were huge. Lots of variety on the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The establishment was clean and decorated nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My only complaint was the wait. We called ahead and still had to wait for 30 minutes. When we were finally seated getting our drinks, and then our ordering our food also seemed like it took forever. Luckily, after we ordered they got the food out quickly. Most breakfast places you'll spend an hour or hour and a half tops and we were there for over two hours because of the long wait.

One omelet with no fruit comes to $18.52. And even charged for a delivery fee when it was a pickup!

Customer service here is HORRENDOUS!! I got take out from there about 3 weeks ago. Asked for a fruit substitution for my omelette order instead of what usually comes with it. They didn't inform me that I'd be charged for it, but that's fine, I don't mind even if they did charge for it; however, they should at least give me a heads up about it so that I wouldn't think why one omelette = $18.52. When I took the food home, not only did I find out from the receipt that they had indeed charge me, but THERE WERE NO FRUIT in the bag (and come to find out just now from the receipt that I found, a delivery fee was tacked on as well)! I quickly called them to let them know and I was put on the phone with the manager who didn't even apologize for the oversight or even offer for me to come back to get it, but assured me (i.e. lied) that he was going to refund me the fruit charge. He even said that he was doing it 'right now'. Well, it slipped my mind to check my credit card over the next few days to see if I was indeed refunded. To be honest, I forgot about this whole incident until today, when I got my credit card bill invoice. There was a $18.52 charge from Big Biscuit, but no credit from them. I don't care about parting with however much the fruit charge was, but I certainly don't appreciate UNSCRUPULOUS business tactics and being lied to about "being refunded right now". Whoever the owners of this establishment is has to be aware of whoever they hire, because this is bad for business. This left a horrible taste in my mouth and will avoid this location, even though it's super close to me. I will take my business to the Big Biscuit on 111th and Antioch instead. I'm aware of the restaurant business (it is definitely not easy) growing up with my mom being a restauranteur and having helped her at her restaurant many years of my life, so this just doesn't sit very well with me. BEWARE of this location!!

These pancakes are HUGE!!

The Big Biscuit is a solid breakfast place. Their portions are huge! I would recommend sharing and definitely make sure to get a Sticky Biscuit for the table.

First time in this particular location, walked right in as there was no hostess. Sat at the bar , waitress was right there and took my order. This is in "Johnson county" so may update review as time goes.

I have always been a fan of big biscuit. The quality of the food is always consistent. We came during brunch on a Sunday so they were slammed as expected. We waited 35 minutes to be seated but were taken care of promptly. We felt rushed to order but all our food came out how we ordered it and it was freshly made. We ordered coffee so it helped hold us over and we had nice conversations while waiting. We were checked on once but our server apologized for not being back more often. She did give us coffee to go since we drank all of ours which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a good brunch and I will be back.

My husband and I had lunch here today, and it was absolutely DELIGHTFUL!…read moreI am very impressed with how WELL the staff work together. They absolutely have the processes of this little restaurant honed to perfection, and even during a busy lunch time kept things humming so that there was minimal wait time (to order, for the food to be brought out, and to pay for our meal). Many, MANY thanks to Robert, who seated us, took our order, brought our food out, and settled our bill. He was friendly, efficient, and so welcoming. It was a joy to watch him work; he made sure to greet each and every customer coming in the door, and was consistently so upbeat and positive. And many, MANY thanks to Tony at the grill! Our food was FANTASTIC!! I have high standards for Mediterranean food, and the falafel wrap was totally delicious! The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). It was a truly memorable meal, and we'll definitely be back! Again, MANY thanks to Robert and Tony for such a great lunch. We appreciate you!

The western omelet was really good, plenty of cheese. Their hashbrowns had a nice crisp to them/ their sourdough toast was buttered and very crispy, I really enjoy a good slice of sourdough. The burrito was also really good, packed full. Chose chorizo as the meat and it was very tasty. Also tried the lemon ricotta pancakes which were the perfect amount of sweet and zest. They're regular pancakes topped with a raspberry sauce and lemon zest. I would definitely come back but aim for an outdoor seat.

First time here and loved!…read more Here's what I ordered: Food: Salsa Verde Pork and Eggs- I cleaned my plate, no shame. The cilantro was super fresh, the pork was flavorful, and the potatoes tied it all together perfectly. Portion size was just right and the price felt fair for what you get. Coffee: Did the job, nothing fancy, but no complaints! Service: Fast and friendly, this place is cute and clean! Met up with friends for a brunch/lunch and this place was hoppin', service was still quick. This is a great mid work day sit-down lunch spot!

On this last visit I got the West Coast Omelet (bacon, onions, tomatoes, and cheese topped with a couple of avocado slices). It comes with a side of rosemary potatoes and an English muffin. I swapped the muffin for a biscuit. I had forgotten their biscuits are more similar to a cross between cornbread and cake. I'd prefer just a regular biscuit even though their style of biscuit is interesting. The omelet and biscuit was large. The rosemary potatoes are delicious and I'd have loved to have a bit more of them. I really enjoyed the omelet as well! I had to take about half of the omelet and biscuit to go. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I think there dishes tend to be a bit more sweet and while I love sweet, if I'm eating savory, I'm picky about the sweetness. I think that is a personal preference and I'm sure some people love it. My server was Kat (Katerina) and she was great. Very patient and helpful. She happened to be my server both times I've been there! The restaurant is very clean with a comfortable, welcoming environment. It's always nice to see their messages of kindness. We could use a lot more of that these days! Cruelty seems to be in fashion now. It's refreshing to go somewhere promoting kindness! I'd go back just for that bit the service is outstanding and the food is really good!

This spot is owned by the same team behind Kate's Kitchen up north--which I've always found fantastic--and I'm happy to report this location is on that same elite wavelength. The Experience: The atmosphere is clean and impressively airy, making for a great morning vibe. Both the hostess and server were exceptionally engaging, even providing a personal water pitcher for the table--a small touch that makes a huge difference. The Food: Chicken Fried Chicken: This is the real deal. It was clearly prepared fresh, not frozen, which is a rarity these days. The Sides: The home potatoes were perfectly crispy, and the gravy was thick, peppery, and hit all the right notes. The Biscuit: This "super-sized" biscuit was essentially the icing on the cake. The Eggs: I ordered my eggs poached soft. They arrived a bit too soft (runny yolk was the goal, but these were just under), though in fairness, that's likely on me for the specific request! Verdict: If you want a breakfast that feels home-cooked with high-quality ingredients and attentive service, this is the place. The yolk should run and these didn't. Not the end of the world, but when you cooks eggs all day it would have been nice to have them not overcooked. It tasted ok. The corned beef was good and I would get that again, but not on a benny. The hollandaise was ok but a bit bland. I was expecting some lemon flavor and that tangy kick but it was super mild. It was fine just not to my liking. My wife got a breakfast quesadilla and it was stuffed full and was better than mine. I had a bite and it was pretty flavorful but we did have to pay extra for sour cream which was weird, but whatevs. The place has a lot of signs inside. Not sure what i make of it but there were enough of them that we both noticed. Our server was good but a bit quirky. For instance, she sat us and as we were sitting down she asked if we knew what we wanted. Not rude or anything like that we just thought, hmmm that was interesting. We told no we needed to look at the menu and it was all fine. I just think she had a quirky personality, nothing off putting. We kind of laughed about it and went on. More of a story than anything else that we talk about and get a kick out of. Overall the place was ok. We would come back if we were close around that area and hungry but we probably wouldn't drive across town to eat there.
