extremely disappointed and will never be returning again. upon arrival there was no one found at the hostess stand and being that i had already joined the waitlist, me and my husband sat down to wait. after waiting longer than expected and see other people getting seated before us, i asked the host how much longer the wait would be which then prompted the question of if i had joined the waitlist online to which i said yes. the response was a rude and snotty "well you should have said something to us when you got here". if someone had been at the host stand, i absolutely would have said something. we were seated immediately after at a dirty table that had a sticky floor and sugar spilled everywhere on the ground. our order was taken and somehow the server neglected to put in my order to the kitchen at all because when my husbands food came out, all i got was the 2 sides i had ordered to my pancakes. it's not that my food wasn't being run, my food was not even made in the first place because the kitchen wasn't told. after waiting 15+ minutes i told the GM to just not bring the food out at all because my husband was already completely done with his food and i was ready to go home, not even wanting the pancakes anymore. thankfully the order was comped from our bill but i left very unhappy. the entire atmosphere of this location is almost comatose, it's like no one wanted to be there at all. would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

The Big Biscuit is a popular breakfast establishment offering a wide selection of interesting dishes. ATMOSPHERE: TBB is your standard family style setting with bountiful seating and a counter by the kitchen. FOOD: You'd be hard pressed to dislike the fare here. From benedicts to scrambles to sweet offerings, there is something for ever palate. I've tried things across the menu and found the ingredients to be good quality with the portions fair. VALUE: For the money TBB is okay. It isn't overly expensive, but I wouldn't say it's cheap either. My comparison is with a breakfast chain where I used to live that offered comparable quality food in slightly larger portions for slightly lower prices. This was in upstate NY where the cost of living is substantially higher, too. I don't foresee TBB doing anything about this, though, since they're essentially the only game in town, and the locals have clearly been bereft of varied food choices through no fault of their own. When it comes to breakfast in Raymore the options are IHOP's diabetes menu or TBB. SERVICE: I saved this section for last because it's perplexing here. While normally adequate, there are quirks that need addressing. First, at the counter the only server is Melissa, and she tends to be aloof regarding checking on her customers and refilling water, coffee, etc. However, I can't completely lay blame on her because she's the only one taking phone orders and ringing up to-go customers. Meanwhile, the floor manager just meanders back and forth. Second, one thing I've noticed sitting at the counter is I often overhear servers talking about their customers, or I see them fiddling with their phones. This was our first visit to The Big Biscuit and it was a wonderful experience. Our day started with my grandma's funeral, so I needed a comfort Burger and a cup of coffee. This place hit the spot! They welcomed us in pretty fast, everybody was warm and welcoming with huge smiles. Very family friendly! The food was amazing, and hot. My burger was huge and mouth watering! My husband picked up take out for Mother's Day--and I must say that they cooked the best French toast (second to my own), eggs, bacon, and potatoes that I have ever had. This food was sooo good! The Bonut is delicious! We went for breakfast and ordered a bonut to share. It is a biscuit dipped in french toast batter and deep fried then covered in powdered sugar. It was delicious. Good food, fast service! Portions are big, especially the kids plates. Coffee comes in a personal-sized pitcher. The food is pretty straight forward as my scrambled eggs were definitely cooked too quickly and the potatoes appeared to be deep fried, pre frozen. There is seating outside, too. The manager was active on the floor and even asked us if we had been greeted. It was my first time ever going. I booked a table on Yelp. I am so glad I did reading the video saying there was going to be a small weight. So I get to the restaurant check-in and go sit in my car. Not even 5 seconds as soon as my butt hit the seat. I got a text saying my table was ready. the restaurant was PACKED, I would've had to have waited for a table. Will be worth the wait! The waitress I had Ruby, she was amazing! She knew the menu so well. And I got the French toast with bananas and chocolat chips. a quarter biscuit and a sticky bun to go.That sticky bun held up so good several hours after. you just heat up, and it's so good. I love the food it was so good. I do plan on the back and trying much more of the menu that sounded and looked so good. It was clean, friendly, nice. I love it! Highly recommend!! I will say it isn't cheap it is pricy if you bring a party or go big like I did and gFrench Toastot a bill for $30. However, it is so worth it!!! Have been three times now and never disappointed which by the crowd that's usually there that must be the case for everyone else too! Very cute place - has that southern, farm feel to it. Of course the biscuits are awesome but love the waffles and pancakes. Eggs are always done well. Sausage patties are a little different as they are a very thin patty but taste good. Gravy is thick and they give plenty of it for biscuits and gravy. I do wish it had a little more seasoning to it though but it would appeal to the mass. I was offered a voice of table or booth and if I wanted fast service I could sit at the counter. I opted for the counter, again greeted immediately offered water and juice, asked if I would like to try a loaded biscuit. I was feeling adventurous so went for it. FLAKEY, FLUFFY absolutely scrumptious. I ordered the chicken biscuit with gravy , hash browns. Chicken was tender, gravy was full of flavor, biscuit was soft, BIG and fluffy. Hash browns were cooked perfectly, serving sizes are large!!! You will not go away hungry!!!! You can call in an order and it will be ready when you arrive. Once we ordered our food it was out quickly and tasted pretty good for the most part, no complaints there. Great place to stop and grab breakfast. Beware it's really easy to over eat since they have so many great options. The biscuits and gravy are light and fluffy with the traditional white flour gravy with black pepper and sausage.
