The heat, texture and combination of flavors were epic. The fries are well done too! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and this was even after 30 minutes. Nothing fancy but done amazingly well and very quickly. My burger was out in a few minutes. I will say that the pizzas I saw coming out of the kitchen will have me coming back to try one of them. The beer was good, although I'll admit that the heat from the burger affected my pallet to truly enjoy the beers since I got a tasting flight. I was here on a Friday night between 5:45 and 7 and it was filling up until I was ready to head out. They do have happy hour on Friday from 2-5pm for $1 off pints.

What is my problem today?!?! I called back, she was so gracious and patient. "No problem, we're going to refund you and you can just reorder at the Clintonville location". I walk in to Clintonville store and they have communicated this situation across their staff, they already knew what was happening when I got up to the counter. They got my food ordered and out to me as quickly as they could. This kind of customer service is next level. This was back in the Jim McCorkle and (I believe) Richard Topper co-owner days. A sad story about twenty years later. It was a small (intimate) building with three levels. The main floor, the basement (where House Singer Jerry Crabbe played on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday -- see photo), and the top floor which was over-flow during football Saturdays. Monday night featured an older lady on accordion who hosted a sing-along. The place filled up pretty nicely. A juke box and two sit-down video game consoles (Pac Man and Galaga) rounded out the entertainment. Drinks were cheap ($1.25 rum & coke), food was pretty good (fresh frier oil made for great french fries and onion rings. Fresh meat for burgers brought in often. And salads (custom made by me), believe it or not. We also had a flag football team in the Fall of 1981 comprised of a couple of bartenders (me and Mark K), some bar regulars, and a pair of Ohio State Wrestlers.
