Any request or mild complaint will bring out a belligerent and insulting owner. My friend got a chewing out for ordering an extra tablespoon of salad dressing! Our reservation was made for 6:30pm for a party of 6. We were seated right away at a table that was already set out for us. The decor in the restaurant was eloquently placed. Definitely dress up nicely for this restaurant. I couldn't believe the excellence of the food that was made!! Evan, our waiter, was amazing; and extremely kind and professional when talking to us. I asked for no food with eggs; and the waiter spoke with the cook and made absolute sure I had no allergic reaction!! I asked for a medium rare filet. No bearnaise because it had eggs in the mixture. And I asked for no pepper. The owners Rick & Kathy are absolute sweethearts!!! We've seen them outside of the restaurant, with our dog Major. Only downside: it took us a VERY long time to get our appetizers, main entrees, drinks, and desserts. But we did always have fresh water and some of our food or drinks were on the house. Wow! Just wow! Ever had one of those night where you wish you would've just stayed home and cooked dinner with friends instead of going out? We had such great company that was only interrupted by the service we experienced instead of adding to it. I run a restaurant so I'm very understanding to busy nights but this experience was handled very poorly by the staff, my first experience and my last at this establishment. Very disappointed and the food was mediocre at best and not cheap so service should've been top notch......not even close:( would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on this experience. read more

i own 3 total a 2 36" and 17". The air fryer handles broke off 2 drawer within 3 months. The top has warped more then a inch in 1 corner. The other 36" 3 out of 4 wheels broke off with a month. Called customer support was told they had no parts available to fix any of the problems. But yet they was still making them and keep stores full of their griddles. Bought the extended warrant. And found out Walmart has no available parts either. read more

The food was great but the service was weak. The guy with bread was spot on and came back appropriately. The server was very young and perhaps inexperienced and did not check in very often. Water ran dry. I began to drink from my wife's. I had one beer and it was served in bottle, a faux pox. And since it was Blue Moon, it is typically served with an orange slice. Server brought a glass brought a glass and slice at my request. I feel I should not have suggest good service. I'll give it on more try because the food was good. read more

We had reservations for a family dinner and were surprisingly disappointed. Summary... Space - OK Food Execution - Good Service - Terrible The overall ambiance of the place is nice enough. It won't excite folks, but it also should not offend. The tables are not pressed too close together and there are booths for for more intimate dining. The food was good. The salads were decent and the rolls were warm, but not anything remarkable. The entree presentation was fair, but the steak I had was cooked correctly and the other five meals seem to have been done correctly. and the sides were good. I want to be clear the good was good, not great and overall executed in a competent fashion. The Service was the part of the encounter that was most memorable and sadly.. in a bad way. The waiter was unfamiliar with the menu, not present and evidently unfamiliar with normal service standards. It was also apparent that manager was unaware as well even after a visit to the table and an early apology about the timing of the salads the service never got better. We all understand that bumps happen in human processes... the ability to own and correct it is what makes a good establishment and sadly that was not evident. read more

But even though we are rather regular customers, we were not given good treatment by the manager when there was an issue. She was stubborn and argumentative. Went there with friends. On Wednesday its Prime Rib and half priced bourbon nite. The bar tender (Lauren) always makes sure we are well taken care of along with the General Manager, Ethan (lol) . It's a very friendly atmosphere the food is always very good or they will make it good. I highly recommend this place. read more

This is our go to local place especially on a last minute weeknight "date". Food is consistently good as well as service. They have nightly specials 1/2 price wine one night, 1/2 price bourbon etc. We usually order some type of steak or price rib (prime rib is only specific nights) and it is always very good. We have been with multiple couples who have ordered chicken and salmon receiving equally high marks. Meals include two sides. Great appetizers and salads. All are priced very well. We have always had great service in front of house and table service. (Tiffany is awesome). Their bread pudding is very good as well. Reasonably priced wine ... it is the total package. Nice venue but can be loud due to their popularity. We feel lucky to have it so close! read more

I've eaten at Blackstone at least 100 times. I take particular exception to the recent review by Kelly R. I love this restaurant and it's staff. I understand that sometimes food can be less than perfect anywhere you eat but these folks went on and on. I was sitting in the bar and couldn't help but notice their behavior. They berated the staff over and over again. And I completely disagree with their opinion. Come and visit and you'll soon feel like family. read more

I do no understand why there are not more reviews on this place. I went here with my Husband and Niece. The service was excellent. We had appetizers Calamari they look like big chicken nuggets and they had a dipping sauce that was so good. For my meal Walleye so juicy and delicious! My sides were corn pudding and risotto creamy richness. My niece had Liver and Onions with Gravy. I was jealous!!! It was so good!!! (Next time) My Husband had scallops. They were cooked just right they tasted unbelievable good! At the end when we were ready to go we did not have to wait for our check she was right there! I love that. Always at the end they ruin it! Amazing Burger! Go with it! The environment is a little stiff, but the food is really good. The best side is the greens! They are sweet, sour, and salty. Good stuff. They take reservations but not on Open Table which needs to happen. Overall it's a great local place read more

Blackstone Grille hit the mark on everything you want in a restaurant- Great drinks- They have a large selection of cocktails and the house Manhattan was excellent. Great food- The Chicken Scarborough was perfectly cooked, the generous portion was flavorful in the brown sauce that had just the right amount of teriyaki in it. The NY Strip (they were out of the Delmonico) and the fillet were both excellent, although I didn't care for the Béarnaise sauce on the fillet. For sides, the collard greens were good, the cream spinach side was great, and the bourbon mushrooms are worth the extra $. Great service- unfortunately great service is hard to come by in the restaurant world these days. It was refreshing to find a restaurant where I can truly say that the service was excellent. It was an obvious team effort by the wait staff but drinks stayed filled, requests were quickly taken care of, and all with great attitudes. Blackstone is a bit of a drive to get to, but this locally owned restaurant is worth it. Do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

The last time I visited Blackstone, I rated the risotto as some of the best I had had in town. On this visit, the risotto, unfortunately, was too dry. it was not creamy at all. However, the scallops were very good. My companion's steak was perfectly cooked as was the corn pudding. My other companion had the special of steak nachos. While she said they were good, they did not look very appetizing. They make a very good Manhattan. read more

Sat down at the bar for a small meal and a beer, and was greeted by two incredibly friendly bartenders. Service was awesome, and the food was great. Ordered a half order of the Light Fried Chicken, everything was hot, juicy and flavorful. Definitely check it out. read more

I would like to post a follow-up review for Blackstone. I have recently been there quite a few times, and boy have things changed! First, the staff is first-rate, and the bartenders are making an awesome dirty gin martini. Second, for the price, the food is very good and really for our area, you just can't go wrong here.....the selection is great. The prime rib on wednesday is about the best I have had with the horseradish sauce. And thirdly, I guess after having read multiple reviews about himself being rude and driving away customers, the owner has hired a GM, and the owner has decided to stay away from the restaurant. What happens now is pure magic! You are welcomed into the restaurant by the hostess or the GM (the GM is very attentive and seems to have background in the hospitality business). So, I recommend this place to go for anytime....I have started going there about once weekly. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Louisville by far. You get fine dining with a casual feel. Wednesday night is by far the best time to go. I like the Blackstone Grill, they have some really good drink specials during the week such as half price wine and bourbon. We usually sit in the bar area as it has nice ambience. I have had several good meals here, it is a little on the pricier side. I think that is partly the location. I really like the spring rolls and the thai pasta, the blackened salmon salad is good too. After attending the Grand Re-opening of Prospect Jewelers, my wife and I strolled to the opposite end of the Prospect Point shopping center for what proved to be one fine dine! Unusual for Gale and myself to eat identical meals but we did this time. We had the Brown Sugar Salmon, the risotto, and fresh asparagus with a delicious light bread dinner roll. Wow! I go to this restaurant often. I LOVE the Chicken Pot Pie, especially on a cold winter evening, but eat it every month. OMG! They decided to simplify the cooking and got rid of the top crust and stuck 2 biscuits on the top and called it a chicken pot pie! It came and was cold! So disappointed. They brought me a hot one but still had biscuits on it....Waitress said it was to help shorten cooking time.....UM....I spent more on alcohol because it took longer in the other way ..... PLEASE go back to the old way or I wont be a frequent customer! :( We had a Server named Lauren O I believe. She was Excellent! Very sweet! Service all around very good. It usually always is! I was there last night for my dads Birthday. Four couples four separate checks. My wife and I make the least of all the couples. Food was great. Service was good. Our check was almost $70 I had drinks wife had soft drinks. At the end they bring out dessert menus and take desert orders then they bring out a free birthday cake for my dad. Big enough to serve the whole table. Why not tell us before we order desserts? Two stars removed because of this. I will not be back unless invited by family again. read more

Wow, just returned from dinner at The Blackstone Grille and am so shocked that I have to share this review. I ordered the shrimp with rice which came with one side. Cost of this entree was $27.00. When ordering our waiter, Sawyer asked if I wanted the 1/2 order or full dinner order. I asked for the full order. When the plate arrived there were 3 shrimp over a very small serving of rice. I asked the person that brought the food to the table if this was the 1/2 order (assuming it must have been). He indicated no, that is the full order. Next I asked for Sawyer and he went back to the kitchen and verified that this was indeed the full order. I was literally in disbelief that the full dinner order was 3 shrimp (and they weren't huge shrimp). I wish I would have taken a photo of the plate as the food covered 1/3rd of the plate and the rest was empty. The most amazing thing is no one cared at all. I was not compensated in any way for what was a very legitimate complaint. Despite the fact that the rest of my party had good meals I don't think I will return and can't recommend it.
