This review is long over due! Amy is awesome!!!!! She really took care of me for a week, I was staying near by helping my dad retire there. She was attentive, professional and FUN. She gave me great "local" ideas on where to go and get away from the stress of being cooped up with my dad. The drinks were great and they had entertainment most nights. The other staff was good too. This was the best culinary experience I had in Moab this last trip. Let me tell you why. 1. They had a very unique blues band playing that just made the bar fun. 2. deep fried blue cheese stuffed and bacon wrapped olives in their dirty martinis. They were mind blowing. 3. Fried pork shanks in a garlic buffalo sauce. NAILED!! 4. and finally the brisket we had on our salads was perfect. I'm going to stay on this side of town more often. We'll start with "We're out of baby back ribs." Really? At 6 p.m. on a Friday night? Ok, I ordered the 2 item combo, brisket and Cajun sausage. The plate was cold, the brisket cold, dry and slightly gray, obviously old. The sausage looked like it was bought at the local grocery store, a corn muffin straight from a box mix and probably days old. All this for $24. After a day of strenuous riding I was starving and managed to get about half of it down before finally talking to the manager and explaining why the meal was so terrible. She was kind enough to only charge me $18.86 for the meal that was worth about $5. Luckily McDonalds was on the way back to the hotel. The food was awesome, but the service was not good. We had a server who forgot our waters, messed up a drink order, forgot a side order, switched two other side orders, and mixed up the bill. That being said, he was very nice and apologetic--he just needs a bit more experience. The menu had a lot of gluten free options, including Angry Orchard cider and Redbridge beer. I ordered the BBQ salad with pulled pork, which was fantastic. My friends ordered wings, and French Onion burgers with fries (which they enjoyed as well.) They allowed our dog on the deck, too. Management was absolutely on point! Best customer service I've ever seen. Not only was the food and drinks on point but Management really made the experience. We were a large group and got sat almost right away, we got placed in the bar had some amazing drinks and then got sat! Our waiter was amazing and food was prompt and delicious. Just was not happy with this place. Decided to give it a try because it was across the street from our hotel. Service was pleasant and friendly, but our server seemed a little akward and didn't pay attention to what we said. We ordered 12 chicken wings and 6 pork wings, and asked for the cajun sauce ON THE SIDE. Both orders came out drenched in sauce. I hate sending stuff back, because... you never know, lol. We wiped the wings clean and the sauce was still pretty hot for me. Would have liked to have more control over the amount on there. The chicken wings tasted a little over cooked and tough, but the pork wings were tasty and tender. Our server also forgot to put in our order of french fries, which came out a little later, steaming hot and unseasoned. (We seasoned them ourselves at the table). BBQ sounded good and Yelp said this place was decent, so I stopped by to get something to go. The waitress was very friendly and quickly took my order. As I waited I noticed that they had live music in the bar area of the restaurant. I wish we could have had time to sit down and enjoy food and music. It took quite a while to get our order, and the restaurant didn't seem that busy. I probably waited 25 to 30 minutes. I had ordered 12 wings (round 10 bucks) and the sampler platter (over 20 bucks). The wings were a decent value I think, but the sampler platter... Not so much. For that price I would have expected more meat. It also came with two sides. We got the chardonnay carrots (tasted like steamed carrots), and loaded mashed potatoes (decent). The meat was nothing incredible, but it wasn't bad. The wings had an interesting smoky flavor that I couldn't tell if I loved or hated. The pulled pork was probably the best out of the sampler. Overall, I think that it is some decent BBQ albeit over priced, but then again, that seems to be very common in Moab. read more

Blu Pig was terrific.  Super nice people and fantastic music - this isn't just a typical blues playlist, but obviously a playlist that someone cares deeply about curating.    I showed up mid-afternoon on a Saturday before they opened, looking to watch a hockey game (in Utah?), and they were nice enough to let me in early to watch, order a beer.  They took care of me the whole time before they officially opened.  Mozzarella sticks are terrific, by the way.  Two thumbs up. read more

Ate here while staying at Spanish Trail RV park and oh my gosh, this place is THE BEST! We called in our order and picked it up which can be a little hit or miss sometimes, but I will say this place did not disappoint even ordering for take out. I got the 8oz meat plate with the burnt ends, which were delicious, and the 1/4 rack of ribs, which were even better. The ribs just fell off the bone, super tender and very flavorful! The loaded sweet potato did not disappoint, and the hush puppies were amazing too! We will definitely be stopping here for more ribs on our next trip to Moab! read more

Enjoyed my meal. I got the slider platter to sample 3 of the meats. Tri-tip and turkey tasted great with the sauce they put on in the kitchen. Neither had that much flavor without the sauce, though. The pulled pork was a real winner. I usually avoid pulled pork because I find it tends to be dry, but this was unusually moist. I had onion rings for my side, and they were OK- they don't appear to be made in house. Our service was good. The wait time wasn't bad at all. Good music. Not-so-good service. I did not eat but my entire crowd of hungry bikers liked the barbeque. We were there on a Friday night and the live band (2-piece blues) was pretty enjoyable. Personally, I find it hard to trust a barbecue joint that tries to serve all sorts of barbecues rather than just being good at one kind. Not that you can't be good at Memphis and NC and TX, but it's not all that easy to master even one type. But everyone liked the food. My beer was cold and the band was good, so overall the group was happy but the server we had was either new or having an off night. So our wait for the bill was over 30 mins and then another 15 mins while he sorted the change. This left a bad impression. I think we got unlucky. read more

This place was supposed to be our "big night out" while on vacation in Moab. Upon entering the place it was nearly empty which should have been somewhat of a sign to us. We opted to sit in the separate bar room area and grabbed a couple of stools at the very modern sports bar. After sitting at the bar for about 5 minutes the bartender came by with a couple menus and said she would be right back to get our drink order. About 3 minutes later she arrived and took our order for drinks and our appetizer. We decided to order the smoked wings as an appetizer (smaller order is 12 wings which is a little much for 2 people). About 5-7 minutes later she finally arrived back to take our main course order - we ordered the three meat plate to share (smoked turkey, chicken, and tri-tip) with sides of baked potato and baked sweet potato. The wings arrived about 10 minutes after initially ordering them. The guy from the kitchen that delivered them was very friendly and upbeat - the bartender could use some training from him in this department. The wings were simply amazing. My BF is somewhat of a wing connoisseur and even he agreed that the wings were very good. Since they are smoked they are also much healthier than typical fried wings. Shortly after the wings had arrived, our main dish arrived leaving us only 1/2 through our wings with our entire plate of food in front of us. We decided to just incorporate the wings into the main dish in order to keep the main course from getting cold. Once again, the same guy from the kitchen delivered our food and was upbeat, attentive and friendly. He dispersed 6 different sauces to us and explained what each was consisted of. He was really a great guy that obviously enjoyed his job and worked very hard. On to the main course: the three meat plate consisted of the smoked turkey which had good flavor but was slightly overcooked to the point that it was dry. A couple of dunks into the house specialty cranberry bbq sauce alleviated the dryness. The smoked chicken was very similar to the turkey - very good flavor, but overcooked. Finally, we had the Tri-tip which I was really looking forward to. To my dismay the tri-tip was very bland and completely lacking of flavor - not to mention it was below room temperature. Finally, I had a loaded baked potato and my BF had a baked sweet potato. My loaded BP was cold and completely overloaded with toppings to the point that I hardly knew there was a potato in there. My BF said the baked sweet potato was very good and came with a sweet brown sugar butter. I didn't care for my baked potato while the BF loved his baked sweet potato. Upon finishing our food, it took about 10 mins for the bartender to ever come by us - keep in mind she had only 1 other customer who was drinking draft beer and not eating. She seemed much more concerned about conversing with this guy and texting on her phone that she did about us. The wings would rate as 5 star, the main dish would rate as 3 star and the service rates as a 2 star - only because of the nice guy from the kitchen, it would be a 1 star if based on the bartender alone. This place has potential to be VERY good as evident by the amazing chicken wings. The service certainly needs improving and the timing of the food being delivered also needs improvement. I would probably give this place one more chance in the future to prove itself because I really want to like it. read more
