I don't get it. Very friendly staff and cute place but soooooo not worth the wait. Apparently you could be waiting 2 hours on a Sunday. The food is good but not good enough for the hour wait we had Saturday morning. If you're going to wait, order something you couldn't get at any diner or standard breakfast spot. I got the blue crab quiche and my husband ordered pulled pork and grits. My quiche was full of crab and was not over seasoned. Portion sizes are good. One unusual thing, since we got there before 11, we could only order from the breakfast menu even though lunch service starts at 11. We were seated after 11 so you would think we could get lunch. The wait can be excessive sometimes but when you get to sit down and don't try to pick a table or you might be there till closing, take what you're given! I have say in could eat the fried green tomatoes all day. They are wonderful. My wife is vegetarian and thankfully there are many choices , but for myself I have loved pretty much anything I've ordered. But as I said everyone seems to know it just now so be patient or try and find a time when they're not crazy busy. Good luck and good eating! read more

What a find!! We found this hidden gem randomly and we will be forever customers! I ordered the "half" Apple Feta salad and I had to ask our server if this was the whole one! Huge portions and reasonable prices! Their homemade balsamic dressing is the BEST I have ever tasted, if they sold it I would have bought a gallon! It's bigger than it looks from the outside, and the staff were so friendly. The decor is cozy and nostalgic and very welcoming. Let me start off by saying by boyfriends family has had a place in St Aug for over 15 years and he says this is the best breakfast he's ever had! We got there at around 10:45 which was later than i wanted because i really wanted to eat off the breakfast menu which ends at 11, the wait was 30 minutes so we ordered PINT SIZED MIMOSAS (best thing ever!!!) and waited on the patio. We waited about 20 minutes and got seated at the bar area and even though it was past 11 they still honored the full breakfast menu since we showed up before 11!! Our service was amazing and this place runs like a well oiled machine. Food was fast and amazing, peach butter with the biscuits is something i think i will crave forever. It was so good and they even have their own parking lot so we didn't have to fight to try to find a spot. I loved the vintage looking interior and cool decorations they had hanging up. Okay where do I start?! This place is absolutely adorable! I loved the ambiance and the setup of the restaurant! We were sat at the bar which was perfect for the two of us! My SIL got the pint glass mimosa...I'm sorry when have you ever heard of this goodness?! Amazing! I had coffee lol. It was also fresh and good. Wonderful breakfast spot! Right off the bat I appreciate their simple and concise menu. It's small, but mighty because every single dish sounded amazing. Unique things like pumpkin pancakes, waffles with peanut butter and banana, and BBQ Pulled Pork with grits made my mouth water just reading them. We arrived around 9 on a Friday morning and it was pretty quiet and we got seated right away, but by 9:30 people were waiting for tables. It was hoppin'! There weren't a ton of tables and they were really spread out (so maybe for Covid reasons). I went with the veggie omelette and requested egg whites only - they were happy to accommodate. Also had to modify and substitute a few other things and again, they had no problem doing so. Everything was amazingly delicious - grits, omelette, and even the bread. The peach butter though is what took it over the top for me! Something special. Love that. My husband's biscuits and gravy with two pork sausage patties were to die for. He got the full order and couldn't even finish - very filling. I don't know the town too well but I feel like this is a hidden gem. First time here and pretty much lived up to the reviews. They have their own small parking lot. It is small. There is handicap/wheelchair access to get inside. Quirky little place sits slightly off the road. Very small bar counter area off to the left with about 4 chairs. The rest is mostly tables and the far back is booth-ish cushion one side, chair on the other. We were seated at the last table in the far back left side right by the kitchen. We did find this area to be a little awkward. We were right near the kitchen door which was open. We could hear everything & the people in and out. There's also a shelf with products on it against the wall & couple high chairs are kept over here. We both honestly thought some small type of divider to maybe partly petition the kitchen open area & shelf from the tables would easily fix that. Nothing expensive or crazy. Back to all the pluses. People were so nice and fantastic service!!! Both our lovely server and the food runner. All very attentive. We started off with the pulled pork BBQ nachos. Nice portion to share and was really good. The meat was quite tender & nicely portioned. The BBQ sauce had a sweet flavor to it. You get a side of salsa with it and a cup of fresh jalapeños as well. The salsa was fresh tasting and really good also. I had chicken and biscuits. The chicken had a nice light breading not too much and very juicy and tender breast meat. The biscuits were so good and crumbly I added the eggs. You can add other items also. It also came with a side of peach butter. Dear goodness I could just lather up biscuits and this butter!!! Hubby got the breakfast burritos. It was large and very good. He loved the red sauce choice. If you add avocado note that they add it inside. He says the red sauce was a must choice. It was smokey & sweet flavored and not spicy like one would normally get. We found out after they do offer mimosas. Drinks we had were fresh lemonade & as a lemonade connoisseur I give this 10 stars all the way ... they make it in-house using Natalie's lemon juice.) The rest of my family got iced coffee & I got to taste -- also 10 stars & bonus points for the coffee ice cubes! Breakfast we had were blue Crab Quiche with pickled cucumbers & home fries ... all fresh and made to perfection. The quiche was light & just the perfect amount of crab so it wasn't too heavy. The pickled cucumbers were a fantastic side! The home fries were good bite sized wedges and crisp on the outside. I had to get the grits, of course, my southern roots crave good homemade grits & these didn't disappoint. I also got a biscuit with sweet butter & omgosh -- took me back to my childhood and Sunday dinners at Grammy's house! My family got chicken and biscuits, biscuits & gravy, eggs, pumpkin pancakes & licked their plates clean! I got to try the biscuits and gravy, and whooo saaaaah - YES!! My son and I had the two egg breakfast, my husband had the breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun and our youngest had biscuits with bacon. Everyone loved their breakfast. The biscuits are amazing! They are humongous and so tasty. Everyone loved their meal. No complaints. I love how the place is decorated as well. Lots of cute chicken decor. We arrived on a Saturday morning around 10:15am, put our name on the list for a table for an hour wait. Once called, they sat us at the bar and gave us breakfast menus. We were sat around 11:15am. Breakfast is served from 8am-11am, so we were looking forward and prepared to order from the lunch menu, which is served from 11am-2pm. When we tried to order off of the lunch menu, the server said that all people who were on the waitlist prior to 11am needed to order off of the breakfast menu. Very unusual, I never experienced this before. So instead of the jerk chicken salad on a brioche bun with home fries, I settled for scrambled eggs, a biscuit and home fries. It took a while to get drinks and then once our food order was in, we waited about 40 minutes. It was definitely not the meal I was looking forward to. The restaurant itself is very clean, cute, and inviting and all of the staff we encountered were friendly. read more

Pre-Covid, this popular little place had great service and the coffee was also great -- strong, hot, and constant refills into thick seemingly insulated diner cups. The burrito was delicious but the crab quiche was too fishy. Their best bets were biscuit and chicken dishes. We returned yesterday. Only the biscuits and Yard Bird are worth returning to this place. The service was slow and the server seemed new, unsure of herself, distracted, or just uninterested. There was construction work going on upstairs so we dined to the discordant tune of very loud banging the entire time we were there. This is the only restaurant I've been to since Covid-19 that still has full sized condiments (salt, pepper, hot sauce) on the table. The tables were more separated than before Covid-19, but the diner noise combined with upstairs construction was so loud that you couldn't hear yourself talk. The coffee was weak, and never hot. Our refill was ridiculously slow, and the coffee in the pot was lukewarm. The open shape and light thin structure of the new coffee cups probably contributed to the lukewarm coffee instantly turning cold. There is no excuse for the coffee in the pot not being hot. King's French Toast $7: I ordered the king French toast with peanut butter on the side. She served it with the peanut butter inside. It wasn't French toast, it was a peanut butter sandwich with a hint of banana. She didn't return to check on us until after we were done eating, so I couldn't tell her she got it wrong; and I never got a coffee refill until after we were done eating. * Even with syrup, honey, and one really sad quarter of a banana, it was too savory, not sweet at all. It was in dire need of more batter and banana, and some cinnamon, powdered sugar, fruit/fruit compote, and a bit of orange zest. Two Eggs $6: I ordered the "Two Eggs" dish, which I had to clarify because she thought I meant I wanted 2 eggs. They should probably change the name of this dish... * It's a good deal -- for $6, it comes with home fries or grits and a biscuit. The eggs were properly prepared, and the home fries and biscuit were hot. * The biscuit was light, fluffy, and delicious. The eggs were good. The home fries were perfectly crispy, but tasteless. They need to put some seasoning on the home fries, or cook them on a flat top with peppers, onions, herbs and spices. Yard Bird $13: excellent old school soul food dish. Everything worked on this dish. The collards were awesome and the grits had a nice smoky flavor. The chicken was cooked properly -- crispy and delicious. The biscuit was light and fluffy. I can't say enough great things about this dish! It was the queen of the ball! Must try! Bottom Line: only the chicken, biscuits, and eggs are worth visiting this place. read more

We came for brunch. There was about a 30-40 minute wait to be seated so we spent it outside on their benches. Once we were seated, service was quick. We got waters and ordered our food fairly quickly. We ordered the BBQ pulled pork and chips to start, and they were very yummy! I ordered the BBQ shrimp tacos and my husband got the Breakfast Burrito with everything. We are super impressed with the food and atmosphere of the restaurant. It is very quaint and homey. Zada Jane 's Stack- We arrived around 10:30am on a Friday and the wait was only 15 minutes. We both ordered the Zada Jane's Stack. My husband ordered a side of their sausage gravy which we both topped our stacks with. It was the perfect addition to complete this dish since it was a tad on the dry side but still delicious. Our meal came with one of their famous biscuits. It was light and fluffy and so satisfying. I enjoyed topping it with their peach butter which was very light and had hints of peach. Coffee was from 1565 Artisan Coffee Roasters and was very smooth and had a great bean flavor. The service was very good, my coffee was kept full and they were very attentive. Accidentally found this place because where we where trying to get to was roadblocks for a 5k run. There was already a waiting list at 8:15am. Small nicely decorated place with friendly service. It's nestled in a neighborhood so parking is tricky. I ordered the French Toast and some eggs. My companion had the pumpkin pancakes and grits. We shared some sweet potato home fries. The French Toast and eggs were very good. The grits and home fries were also very good. The pumpkin pancakes were surprisingly dull after hearing they were a popular choice. read more

Just know that there is limited seating capacity in this fairly small restaurant. Expect a wait. Also, parking is fairly competitive as it is in most of Saint Augustine. The food is very good with a nice variety of options available for breakfast. We especially enjoyed the biscuits with the peach butter. They were fantastic. We also enjoyed the French toast, an omelette, and the home fries. The coffee was also very good. The vibe in the restaurant is that of the 1970s. Imagine macramé and such. There are lots of pictures of chickens and hens and roosters displayed throughout the restaurant. It provides a fun eclectic vibe. Service was good and the prices were reasonable. I enjoyed the pineapple mimosa while my husband enjoyed a regular oj mimosa. They were nice and large but were not strong at all (take it how you may lol). My husband stated his burrito lacked flavor so I think I should say the red sauce is a must. It is not spicy at all but definitely gives it a hint of added flavor. If I could have given more stars I would have. The noise level is a little above average but it is a small building with a lot of hard surfaces, but the volume isn't so much that you can't carry on a conversation. The service, even when they are packed, was excellent. My drink was always full and if I asked for anything it was there quickly. As for the food, I can only speak for their breakfast menu, but if the breakfast food is any indication, lunch here would be amazing. If you like cornbeef hash you will not be disappointed, it was delicious . All the food was fresh and hot. The flavors melded together to make a great breakfast. The pumpkin pancake was different but delicious. It is off the beaten path but they have a small parking lot because the restaurant which fills up quickly when they are busy and you might have to wait if they are busy because it is a small restaurant but it is week worth the wait. read more

A little disappointed with the service but the food was exceptional. Our waiter wasn't as attentive as I would've liked, but we did arrive 45 minutes prior to closing. FYI, when this does occur, I always already know what I'm going to order because I understand that servers like to leave on time. I ordered the breakfast Burrito because it looked amazing on Yelp, but when it arrived it had no sauce. I explained to the server how I was expecting the sauce on top. He just stood there confused and didn't offer any solution. I literally had to go through my Yelp and show a picture from a reviewer. Then the light bulb clicked and and he proceeded to remember. This left me unsettled. It was worth the little bit of frustration though because my tummy was so happy and I was able to take some Togo, which tasted just as yummy. The decor is super cute and cozy. The locals are super friendly. This is a great spot for brunch as long as you know exactly what you want or have a picture. Lol. This has always been our "go to" for breakfast when visiting St. Augustine. First time at the new location. Wait time for a table was a quick 15 minutes. The tables around where we were seated were all finishing up and clearing. We had our drinks (and ordered our food) within 5 minutes of being seated. And then we waited and waited and waited and waited. Watched and observed our server wait on and attend to and chat up all the tables of new guests around us and she never glanced our way nor checked to see how we were doing - drinks or otherwise. We literally became invisible to her. We were finally able to get her attention after waiting over 30 minutes for our food. She very nonchalantly said "oh, I'll go check on your food" - and then disappeared not to be seen again for another 15 minutes. At which point we were discussing just getting up and walking out. The table right next to us (same server) was seated after us, ordered, ate, paid and were leaving when our food finally arrived - with absolutely no explanation or apology for the almost 45 minute wait. Just a giggle as she set our plates down and off she went. While the food quality was as good as we remembered from our previous visits - this will be our last! There are just too many great restaurants, with great food, and with much more attentive service in St. Augustine than what we just experienced. read more
