So I did a phone order for take out (on Valentine's Day) around 6pm. They said on the phone it would take about 45 mins. i get a text saying the order was ready for pick up, I head on over. Then I have to wait in the "pick up line" for another 40 mins just to get my food. People in this line were so upset. (Including me). I have actually never seen that many upset people at a restaurant. You should tell people who do phone orders that they will have to wait in a much bigger line to pick up the food if you are busy. That way they can just cancel the order on the phone or at least head over there 30 mins earlier to wait in line so that their food isn't cold when they pick up. The place gets filled up FAST! So i recommend joining the waitlist as soon as you possibly can. We joined the waitlist around 5:30 pm and the waitlist was closed around 5:40pm. Our seats were ready around 7:30pm. Parking in the structure the next street over. Very convenient. This was my first time ever getting seafood boil so I was excited! I got the half pound shrimp with all the seasonings and corn. Mixing all the sauces was the way to go!We also got sweet potato fries and Cajun fries. I recently ordered boiling crab to go and had to call twice. They don't let you call in ahead of time to order for a specific time. They ask you to call 30 mins before pick up time. I asked the person on the phone can you just keep my long list of order and when I call you to remind you to place the order it will be easier? She said no so I had to call back to place my long order again. After placing the order through the phone with her repeating my order I went in to pick it up. Upon pick up, part of my side orders were missing. What is the whole point of repeating my order when half of it is missing? On top of that, the shrimp is never cooked correctly. All mushy and gross. Don't think I need to say much. It was one of the first Asian Cajun boils in the area. They still taste the best. Their service has slightly improved. Prices have gone up, but so has inflation. And their decor is on point with seafood boil, so why not come try the original? read more

Visited on April 10, 2025. We ordered 1 1/2-lbs of shrimp with the whole shebang sauce (mild spicy), fried catfish with lemon pepper fries, Cajun fries, and 2 fountain drinks. While the food itself was good, the service was absolutely terrible and completely overshadowed our dining experience. After our food was served, our waiter completely disappeared for 30 minutes. We had to flag down 3 different staff members multiple times just to get basic things like drink refills, condiments, and to place additional orders. When we finally asked a waitress/hostess about our original server, she informed us that he had gone on break without telling us or arranging for someone else to take care of our table. We continued waiting until I finally had to get up and ask for the check myself - only then did our original waiter finally reappear to bring it to us. The inattentive wait staff made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I rarely give bad ratings, but this visit left such a poor impression that I felt compelled to share. Good food can't make up for service this poor. Management needs to address their staff training and communication issues. read more

Everything was amazing- the food, the service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Started with the most tasty and perfectly spicy michelada. The calamari was perfectly crispy and not too chewy. The whole shabang was the perfect seasoning on the shrimp. Also, don't skip out on the hard boiled eggs they are so good with the sauce in the shrimp bag. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. I visited this location last Friday and had issues with a server's attitude when we pointed out a billing mistake. I brushed it off since it was close to closing time. However, when I returned on 01/09, I experienced the same problem again, multiple staff members were extremely rude and openly expressed annoyance toward customers. When my friends and I were being seated, one of my friends had stepped away to use the restroom, so the staff didn't initially see her. Because of that, they forgot her bib, which wasn't a big deal. However, when she returned, our server immediately showed visible annoyance. We all ordered drinks and food together, yet when the drinks arrived, everyone received theirs except for the friend who arrived late. Our food was then dropped off, and her drink was still missing, even after we mentioned it. When her rice finally came out, the server placed it on the opposite end of the table instead of handing it to her, then walked away before we could mention the other missing items (her drink, two orders of fries, and ranch). At that point, we were understandably frustrated. Another server eventually came by and asked if we needed anything, and we explained what was still missing. Our original server, Angeline, rolled her eyes and shook her head. After that, we noticed her repeatedly looking over at our table, snickering and laughing with other staff members. We could clearly see and hear them making jokes about us. One server even said, "What are you guys talking about?" while staring directly at us, followed by laughter from the group. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. Whenever items were finally brought out for the friend who arrived late, they were deliberately placed on the far end of the table. Her order was also incorrect, and when she asked for more corn (which she had originally requested), the staff seemed annoyed and sent a different server to deliver it. After that, our servers completely ignored us and focused on surrounding tables. We had to flag down other staff for assistance, which should never be necessary. We waited nearly three hours and were made to feel uncomfortable the entire time. It genuinely felt like my friend was being targeted because she arrived late, which is not an excuse under any circumstances. No customer should ever be treated this way. This is the second time in two weeks we've experienced poor attitudes from servers at this Alhambra location, particularly from the female staff. I don't enjoy being a difficult customer, but if there's a mistake with an order or bill, I will speak up, and that should not result in disrespectful treatment. I'm paying for a dining experience, not to feel uncomfortable or mocked. Boiling Crab, please do better, because this has become a recurring issue at this location, and it's extremely disappointing. read more

Taking boiling crab home (ordering to go/pickup) is the VIBE. Food is fantastic and they give you all you need to keep your table and hands clean. You get to eat like a wild woman in the privacy of your own home! With your family around you who are equally wild! Then you get to wash yourself up in your own clean bathroom. Food is so good. Prices are a little high but worth it for a fun treat dinner with a group. I wouldn't want to dine at the restaurant just because it seems so dark and moody. Love that they have the pick up area separate. Parking can be annoying but as is most things in LA. read more

Who doesn't love to get down and dirty once in a blue moon? The wait was honestly not even bad. I put myself in the waitlist in Yelp and got here just in time. The food is always great. I forgot what we ordered... shrimps & crab for sure. I will say that everyday is different. They could possibly be out of certain things which didn't bother me. Service was great! Our server checked on us from time to time asking if we needed anything else. They do provide bibs and there is a wash station for after a great time.... of feasting. I've never had any bad experiences coming in here. This 5 star review is specifically for Crystal the manager! I lost my phone at this location and when I realized it, I was already home. I frantically raced back to this location and I explained crystal my situation and she was so kind enough to look into the trash and find my phone. I've came across many people who wouldn't be understanding and I was already expecting the worst but I am so grateful that there are people in this world who have sympathy and really care about their customers. O think the Rowland Heights Boiling Crab the whole shebang sauce tastes the best. THE BAD - the sauce has changed. I used to like eating the corn in the bag because it was full of the shebang juices but it was NOT GOOD. - lemon pepper chicken was burnt and overly seasoned w/ lemon- so sour it was inedible unless you drowned it in ranch. We left 3 wings. They took it off our bill which was good of them. - raw oysters here are FAT and not in a good way. It was served on ice but didn't taste cold and fresh. We left 2 big ones it just wasn't tasty. - no Michelob ultra beer. THE GOOD - fried shrimp was plump and crispy and delicious! So was the fries this was hands down the best thing we ate tonight. - Yelp check in was helpful. We didn't have to wait too long thankfully. I remember when the Boiling Crab first opened at the previous Alhambra location. The lines and crowds were some of the largest in the area. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and we showed up at around 5pm on a weekend and the wait time was 2.5 to 3 hours. Insanity. We left and tried again this past weekend and fortunately the wait time when we arrived (early by the way) was "only" 30-45 minutes. My son asked why don't we just order to-go but if you've ever done that at Boiling Crab you would know it's not very good. The shrimps just keep cooking in the bag and when you get home they're severely overcooked and pasty. Anyway, we waited it out and finally got a nice booth. Gotta say the food was great and the prices were more affordable than I remember (probably because prices everywhere else have gone up at a faster pace so it just seems cheaper). Service and the sports bar atmosphere were great and they didn't rush people out, even with the crazy lines at the door, so everyone could relax and take their time peeling and eating. I feel like there should be a time limit to sit & eat. So people can come & go . The reasoning being is because people just sit there & talk & take a long time to leave which is not fair . I am a big fan of seafood boil, especially at Boiling Crab. I've been to the Alhambra Boiling Crab many times and in the past the service has always been great, especially with large groups. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was the complete opposite and honestly, by far the most disappointing experience I've had here. From the moment we sat down, it felt like no one wanted to serve our table. We waited a long time just to flag someone down, only to be told "I'm not your server, but I'll let him know." Meanwhile, several staff members stood around, looking over at our table but never approaching. When someone finally came, she said she wasn't our server either but reluctantly took part of our order. Our assigned server eventually arrived, but by then the delay had already been frustrating. Once food started coming out, we realized we hadn't been given aprons, limes, salt, or pepper -- things that Boiling Crab usually provides automatically. Anytime we tried to get help with something as simple as a fork, bowl, or additional drinks, other staff members would make eye contact and then deliberately look away, as if pretending not to see us. This happened multiple times and left us feeling ignored and uncomfortable. To be clear, I don't blame our assigned server -- he was doing what he could. The real issue was the lack of teamwork and the collective unwillingness of the rest of the staff to step in. For a restaurant that normally prides itself on group dining, this experience was shockingly disappointing. read more

We got a Michelada, Arnold Palmer, 2 lbs of shrimp with medium the whole sha'bang sauce + 2 corns -- we ordered 1lb at a time because one wasn't enough --, 2 steamed rice, cajun fries, and fried oysters (my favorite!).
