Came on a Saturday around 12:30 and had to wait about 25 minutes. Got the BLT Benedict and it was pretty good but don't think I would get it again. The english muffin was too soggy for me and there wasn't a lot of bacon. The potatoes were cooked perfectly though. My friends and I also shared a white chocolate caramel pretzel pancake, and it was amazing! Definitely will be back for more of that. Also, right after we got seated, one of the workers accidentally dropped a glass cup at the table next to us, so they placed us at a different table. One of my friends and I came here for the Labor Day weekend brunch! It was a bit of a wait (30 min+), but totally understandable. They only take walk-ins to begin with, so it's okay if you come here without reservations! It seemed like they renovated the place -- I've noticed a brighter ambience! I really enjoyed The Bongo Room! While out and about we saw a long line for here so decided we had to try it out. The interior is very welcoming, nice decorations everywhere. We were sat at the bar which wasn't my favorite, but that's just cause it was so so busy. Our waitress was so friendly and the food was unique and so good! We ordered the pumpkin pancakes, and chocolate tower French toast. Both were really sweet, and very yummy. I'd love to try more of the menu in the future. I would recommend trying one of their mimosas because they have really cool mimosa flavors like orange mango (pictured), raspberry pear (not pictured), and many more. We also got the croissant sandwich and the white chocolate & Caramel pretzel pancakes. The food was good, but nothing really stood out. The croissant sandwich was basic (tasted like every other croissant sandwich) and it was hard to taste the melted muenster cheese inside of it (not sure why tho). The white chocolate&caramel pretzel pancakes had small pretzel bites which I thought added to the texture, but overall the pancake was not that fluffy. I am not a breakfast eater or lover by any means but Bongo Room has converted me. The menu is simple with not many options but anything you get will be delicious! I usually never order pancakes because they're always dry and average. Bongo room goes above and beyond with all their pancake options. The BEST pancakes I've ever had. Soft, chewy, flavorful and the perfect consistency. All the different flavors they offer are so incredible and I'm always excited to check their menu out for new additions. The side potatoes are the best I've had at any restaurant. Finally a breakfast spot that uses FRESH potatoes !! So simple and delicious but that's all it really is sometimes. Fresh ingredients cooked correctly ! The only reason I gave Bongo Room 4 stars is due to their hours. I love it so much, I wish they were open more hours out of the day. Up until this last weekend, I was sole Chicagoan left who had not yet been to The Bongo Room. With three locations including one within walking distance of me, I had no excuse left not to give them a try! When you go to Bongo Room, always expect a wait. We were quoted about 30 minutes so checked in, then grabbed some coffees next door. There are a million fab coffee shops right next to the Wicker Park location so waiting a few minutes is no problem at all. We were seated at the counter and Jessica took care of us. She was so bubbly & friendly for a Saturday morning! Perfect amount of service to check in on us but also leave us to our chatting. I had the BLT Pesto Benedict which was a unique offering and huge portion with a mountain of breakfast potatoes on the side. Loved this $15 dish and would def get it again. My friend had the Cinnamon Pear French Toast which I tried and whoa, was it indulgent and savory but very sweet & tasty. I really enjoyed this place. I was torn between the pancakes and the French toast. I really had my heart set on pancakes this morning so I went ahead and got them. They are d-lish-us! 3 was wayyyyy too many for me though. Next time I know to get half the order, which they allow. The chicken sausage was also very good. No complaints. I had been to a different location Bongo Room in the past and decided to try this one during a visit to Chicago. We went shortly after opening on a Saturday morning so there where still plenty of open tables. The menu is not too big, with a side dedicated to brunch (Saturdays and Sundays only). We ordered two savory dishes and one individual strawberry and banana pancakes (yes, you can order pancakes individually, though it does not explicitly say so on the menu). I enjoyed my food, though wish the lobster benedict overall was more hot (temperature-wise). I also bit into a few fragments of lobster shell which was not so fun. The pancake was good but a bit dry and thick. The interior is nice with an industrial feel. Service was probably the highlight of the meal, with a friendly host and server and waters brought to your table almost immediately after being seated. Prices are fair and basically what I expected for brunch. Overall, a solid meal though not quite as memorable as my previous visit. P.S. I recently visited Bongo Room for breakfast. We only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for 4, which was a pleasant surprise on a Sunday morning at 10:30AM. We tried the Spicy Turkey Sausage Burrito and Croissant Sandwich, and although both were both delicious, the Croissant Sandwich was definitely my favorite. While the house potatoes that came with both dishes were a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor, I didn't let that detract from my overall experience at Bongo Room. Loved this place for brunch! My girlfriends and I came here for brunch on a Sunday. The wait wasn't bad about 10-15 mins. We added our names to the list went to the cute body shop next door and they sent a text when the table was ready. We each got a entree and then one pancake and shared with each other because everything on the menu looked so good. The food came pretty quick and was served hot. Omg the pancakes and churro french toast are so rich, flavorful and amazing. It's like eating dessert and is almost to much so I'm glad we only got 1 each and not full orders. The waitress was very attentive and and helpful and gave us some suggestions on what to order. We also order some mimosas and I had a flavored hot tea which was so delicious and served in the cutest little tea kettle. Now, the wait isn't always forever and a day a d if you play your cards right you may sneak right in. Forget brunch on the weekends, sneak in during the week or bright and early on a Sunday. The place is pretty small so I suggest that you're mindful of the fact that you're really close to other diners. They can easily overhear your conversations, just be warned, ha. My absolute favorite item on the menu is their vegetarian croissant sandwich. Oh my goodness, its so good! The sandwich is built on a soft and flakey croissant and comes with melted Muenster cheese, fresh spinach and tomato, crisp cucumber, a flavorful basil mayo, and I always get my egg over medium. I also scratch the mushrooms. I'm not a mushroom gal. Now this sandwich is huge and even comes with breakfast potatoes. So, you better be hungry! I always pair my order with a coffee and every single time I get this I leave full as can be with a giant smile on my face. I am guilty of nibbling on my friend's pancakes every now and then but honestly, I've always stuck with the same order. It's hard to find such a delicious vegetarian breakfast sandwich with so many veggies on it. I simple can stray away from it. I went here for a Saturday brunch with my family. We were seated almost immediately but warned that the service might be slow as they are limited on staff that day. We were all fine by this, I requested for a quick order for my 3 yr old daughter and the staff was nice enough to get something out quickly for her. The waitress who was helping us out was really good but was not giving us enough time to look through the menu, even though it was our first time there. We order two blt egg benedicts and a chorizo omlette, and a chocolate chip pancakes and fruit plate. The omlette, and eggs benedicts tasted amazing. The hollandaise sauce was super creamy and very flavorful. My daughter enjoyed her pancakes and scrambled eggs. Overall the food was great, but the service was a bit okay.
